*TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - SUNDAY, 23RD AUGUST, 2026.* 🌟*COME UNTO ME, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST*🌟 12th Sunday after Trinity | 4th Sunday in August. 📖 Scripture: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (KJV). 🔥*Reflection – Jesus Is Our Place of Rest* Life can become overwhelming. There are burdens we carry because of responsibilities, expectations, disappointments, unanswered prayers, family concerns, ministry demands, work, studies, and the uncertainties of tomorrow. Jesus does not tell the weary to struggle harder. He gives a gracious invitation: “Come unto me.” Christ does not promise that we will never face difficulties. Instead, He promises that when we bring our burdens to Him, He will give us rest. The rest Jesus gives is deeper than physical relaxation. It is the rest of a heart that knows it is no longer carrying everything alone. It is peace in the midst of pressure, confidence in the midst of uncertainty, and strength to continue when we feel weak. Today, whatever burden you are carrying, bring it to Jesus. Do not carry what Christ is asking you to surrender. Your burden may be heavy, but His grace is sufficient. 🔊*Prophetic Declaration:* Today, I declare that I come to Jesus Christ with every burden, concern, fear, and uncertainty in my life. I refuse to carry alone what I can surrender to my Savior. I declare that the rest of Christ is entering every troubled area of my life. His peace shall replace anxiety, His strength shall replace weakness, and His hope shall replace discouragement. I proclaim that every burden weighing heavily upon my heart shall be surrendered to the Lord. I release the burdens of fear, disappointment, uncertainty, financial pressure, family concerns, ministry responsibilities, work, business, studies, and the future into God's capable hands. Today, I receive divine strength to continue the journey. Where I have become weary, the Lord shall renew me. Where I have become discouraged, He shall restore my joy. Where I have become confused, He shall give me direction. I declare peace over my family and household. May every unnecessary tension, anxiety, misunderstanding, and heaviness give way to the peace of Christ. I declare grace over my ministry and service to God. I shall not serve from exhaustion or seek to carry God's work in my own strength. I receive fresh grace, wisdom, strength, and spiritual renewal. I proclaim divine rest over my work, business, and studies. The Lord shall give me wisdom to manage my responsibilities, strength to complete my assignments, and favor to accomplish what He has placed in my hands. I declare that I shall not be controlled by tomorrow's uncertainties. God holds my future, and I choose to trust Him one day at a time. Today, I reject the lie that I must solve everything by myself. I acknowledge my dependence on God and receive His grace for every challenge before me. I declare that the Lord shall restore my emotional, spiritual, and physical strength according to His will. He shall lead me beside still waters and restore my soul. I proclaim that my home shall be a place of peace, my heart shall be a dwelling place of God's presence, and my life shall reflect the calm confidence of someone who trusts in Christ. THANKS 🙏 LESSON: PSALM 139: 23-24. TOPIC: WHEN GOD LOOKS AT ME, WHAT DOES HE SEE? TEXT: For man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 (NKJV) INTRODUCTION: Last Sunday, we asked ourselves a very important question: “What Kind of Christian Am I?” Today, I want us to go one step deeper. The question is no longer about what I call myself. It is not about what people call me. It is not even about the image I have created before others. The question is: “When God looks at me, what does He see?” People see the outside. They see our clothes. They hear our words. They see our church attendance. They see our posts on social media. They know our titles and positions. But God sees beyond all of that. 1 Samuel 16:7 says: “For man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” That means I can impress people and still disappoint God. I can look religious before men and still be far from God in my heart. So today, let us allow God to examine us. EXPOSITION: 1.GODSEES BEYOND MY APPEARANCE: We are very conscious of how people see us. We dress well because we want to look good. We speak carefully because we want to sound intelligent. We behave properly because we want to maintain a good reputation. There is nothing wrong with these things. But God sees what people cannot see. He sees the thoughts we hide. He sees the motives behind our actions. He sees what we do when nobody is watching. He sees the person behind the public image. You may deceive people, but you cannot deceive God. David understood this when he prayed in Psalm 139:23-24: “Search me, O God, and know my heart... and see if there is any wicked way in me.” That should become our prayer too. “Lord, search me.” Not, “Lord, search my neighbour.” Not, “Lord, search my enemies.” Search me. 2. GOD SEES THE CONDITION OF MY HEART The heart is where God begins His examination.What is inside my heart? Is there unforgiveness? Bitterness? Pride? Jealousy? Greed? Hatred? Secret sin? Or is there genuine love for God and for people? Jesus said in Matthew 12:34: “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Our words often reveal what is already living inside us. Sometimes we say, “That was just a mistake.” But repeated words, repeated attitudes and repeated behaviours may reveal something deeper. And this is where the message becomes personal. What does God see when He looks into my heart? Does He see Christ? Does He see humility? Does He see love? Does He see repentance? Or does He see a heart that has become comfortable with things He has been asking us to surrender? 3. GOD SEES WHETHER MY LIFE AGREES WITH MY CONFESSION: Perhaps this is the hardest question. Do I live what I claim to believe? If I say I am a Christian, can people see Christ in the way I treat them? If I say I love God, does my lifestyle demonstrate that love? If I say I have forgiven someone, have I truly released the person from my heart? If I preach holiness, am I pursuing holiness? If I tell others to trust God, do I trust Him when my own circumstances become difficult? Jesus said in Matthew 7:16: “You will know them by their fruits.” God is not only interested in what comes out of our mouths.He is interested in what comes out of our lives. Our character is preaching every day. Our conduct is preaching. Our attitude is preaching. Our relationships are preaching. Even when we say nothing, our lives are saying something. CONCLUSION: THE GREATEST TRAGEDY : My beloved, today God is not asking us to examine somebody else. He is asking us to examine ourselves. When God looks at me, what does He see? Does He see a Christian only on the outside? Or does He see a transformed heart? Does He see someone who has truly surrendered to Christ? Maybe today, we need to stop defending ourselves and simply say: “Lord, show me who I really am.” Because the greatest tragedy is not that people misunderstand us. The greatest tragedy is when we misunderstand ourselves before God. People may applaud us. People may praise us. People may call us wonderful names. But at the end of everything, the only opinion that matters eternally is God's. So, before you ask, “What does God think about other people?” Ask yourself: “When God looks at me, what does He see?” And if He reveals something that does not look like Christ, don't run from Him.Run to Him. Because the God who reveals our condition is also the God who can transform us. PRAYER: Father, when You look at me, let me not be ashamed of what You see. Search my heart. Remove every bitterness, pride, hypocrisy, unforgiveness and secret sin. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Let my private life agree with my public confession. Let my character reflect Christ. Let my words, actions and attitudes bring glory to Your name. And when You look at me, Lord, let You see the evidence of Your grace working in my life. EXHO🇨🇩THÉOBALD Theme: « IL N’Y A RIEN DEHORS : CHRIST SUFFIT ! » Colossiens 2:9-10 « Car en lui habite corporellement toute la plénitude de la divinité. Vous avez tout pleinement en lui… » Textes complémentaires : Jean 15:1-7 ; Philippiens 4:19 ; Psaume 23:1 ; Jean 6:35 ; Colossiens 1:15-20. 1- L’idée fondamentale Le monde nous apprend constamment à chercher ailleurs ce que nous pensons ne pas avoir en nous : bonheur, sécurité, identité, reconnaissance, satisfaction, puissance, avenir… Mais l’Évangile nous révèle une vérité extraordinaire : En Christ, nous ne sommes pas à la recherche de quelque chose qui nous manque fondamentalement : nous avons trouvé Celui qui suffit. Christ ne doit pas être un complément à notre vie. Christ doit être le centre, la source et la suffisance de notre vie. ⸻ I. POURQUOI L’HOMME CHERCHE-T-IL DEHORS ? Depuis Éden, l’homme est tenté de croire que Dieu ne suffit pas. Genèse 3 montre Adam et Ève cherchant quelque chose en dehors de la volonté de Dieu. Aujourd’hui encore, nous pouvons chercher : * notre identité dans les hommes ; * notre valeur dans l’argent ; * notre sécurité dans les biens ; * notre bonheur dans les plaisirs ; * notre reconnaissance dans les réseaux sociaux ; * notre avenir dans les relations humaines ; * notre puissance dans les positions ; * notre satisfaction dans les possessions. Le problème n’est pas seulement ce que nous cherchons, mais la source auprès de laquelle nous le cherchons. Question au séminaire Qu’est-ce que je suis en train de chercher dehors que Christ veut être pour moi ? ⸻ II. CHRIST SUFFIT PARCE QU’IL EST PLEINEMENT DIEU Colossiens 2:9 : « En lui habite corporellement toute la plénitude de la divinité. » Nous ne sommes pas attachés à un simple prophète, à un grand enseignant ou à un modèle moral. Jésus-Christ est Dieu manifesté dans la chair. C’est pourquoi notre relation avec Lui est suffisante. Si Christ est véritablement Dieu, alors : * sa Parole suffit ; * sa grâce suffit ; * sa présence suffit ; * son salut suffit ; * son amour suffit ; * sa puissance suffit. ⸻ III. CHRIST SUFFIT POUR NOTRE SALUT Jean 14:6 : « Je suis le chemin, la vérité, et la vie. Nul ne vient au Père que par moi. » Nous n’avons pas besoin d’ajouter autre chose à l’œuvre de la croix. Christ est notre salut. Nos œuvres ne nous sauvent pas. Notre argent ne nous sauve pas. Notre position dans l’Église ne nous sauve pas. Notre famille chrétienne ne nous sauve pas. Notre ancienneté dans l’Église ne nous sauve pas. C’est Christ qui sauve. ⸻ IV. CHRIST SUFFIT POUR NOTRE IDENTITÉ Beaucoup de personnes passent leur vie à demander aux autres : « Qui suis-je ? Suis-je important ? Suis-je aimé ? Ai-je de la valeur ? » Mais en Christ, notre identité ne dépend plus de l’approbation des hommes. 2 Corinthiens 5:17 : « Si quelqu’un est en Christ, il est une nouvelle créature. » Je ne suis pas ce que les gens disent de moi. Je ne suis pas mon passé. Je ne suis pas mes échecs. Je ne suis pas mon statut social. Je suis ce que Dieu dit de moi en Christ. ⸻ V. CHRIST SUFFIT DANS NOS BESOINS Philippiens 4:19 : « Et mon Dieu pourvoira à tous vos besoins selon sa richesse, avec gloire, en Jésus-Christ. » Attention : dire « Christ suffit » ne signifie pas que nous n’avons besoin de personne. Dieu utilise les parents, les amis, l’Église, les frères et sœurs, les professionnels et différentes ressources. Mais cela signifie que notre confiance ultime ne doit jamais être placée dans les ressources, mais dans Celui qui les donne. Les ressources peuvent manquer. Les hommes peuvent abandonner. Les portes peuvent se fermer. Mais Christ demeure. ⸻ VI. CHRIST SUFFIT DANS LES ÉPREUVES Paul dit en Philippiens 4:12 : « Je sais vivre dans l’humiliation, et je sais vivre dans l’abondance. » Pourquoi ? Parce que sa satisfaction ne dépendait pas des circonstances. Puis il déclare : « Je puis tout par celui qui me fortifie. » — Philippiens 4:13. Paul ne dit pas : « Je peux tout parce que j’ai tout. » Il dit en substance : « Même lorsque je n’ai pas tout, Christ demeure ma force. » Voilà la maturité spirituelle : Être heureux avec beaucoup parce que Christ est là, et rester debout avec peu parce que Christ est toujours là. ⸻ VII. LE DANGER : AVOIR CHRIST ET CHERCHER ENCORE AILLEURS C’est probablement l’un des plus grands défis du chrétien. Nous pouvons avoir Jésus et continuer à chercher notre satisfaction ailleurs. Nous disons : « Jésus me suffit. » Mais notre cœur dit parfois : « Il me faut aussi l’argent, l’approbation des hommes, la popularité, les plaisirs, les relations, le pouvoir… » Le problème n’est pas d’avoir ces choses. Le problème commence lorsque ces choses prennent la place de Christ. Matthieu 6:33 : « Cherchez premièrement le royaume et la justice de Dieu… » ⸻ VIII. « IL N’Y A RIEN DEHORS » : UNE INVITATION À REVENIR À CHRIST Jean 6:68 est magnifique. Lorsque beaucoup abandonnent Jésus, Pierre lui dit : « Seigneur, à qui irions-nous ? Tu as les paroles de la vie éternelle. » C’est exactement l’esprit du thème : À qui irions-nous ? Quand les hommes nous abandonnent : Christ suffit. Quand les portes se ferment : Christ suffit. Quand les ressources diminuent : Christ suffit. Quand notre réputation est attaquée : Christ suffit. Quand nous traversons une saison difficile : Christ suffit. Quand nous ne comprenons pas ce que Dieu fait : Christ suffit. Quand nous avons tout : Christ suffit. Quand nous n’avons presque rien : Christ suffit. ⸻ IX. CHRIST NE DOIT PAS ÊTRE NOTRE « DERNIER RECOURS » Il faut inverser notre logique. Certaines personnes disent : « J’ai essayé tout, maintenant je vais essayer Jésus. » Mais le chrétien dit : « J’ai Jésus ; maintenant je veux vivre tout avec Lui. » Christ n’est pas le plan B. Christ est le plan de Dieu. Il n’est pas une solution parmi plusieurs. Il est la solution fondamentale. ⸻ X. CHRIST SUFFIT, MAIS DEMEURONS EN CHRIST Jean 15:4 : « Demeurez en moi, et je demeurerai en vous. » Voilà la conclusion pratique. Si Christ suffit, alors demeurons en Christ ! Demeurons : dans sa Parole — Jean 15:7 dans la prière — 1 Thessaloniciens 5:17 dans l’obéissance — Jean 15:10 dans l’amour — Jean 15:9 dans la foi — Colossiens 2:6-7 dans la communion — 1 Jean 1:3 dans la sainteté — 1 Pierre 1:15-16. Car le danger n’est pas seulement de découvrir que Christ suffit. Le véritable défi est de rester attaché à Celui qui suffit. ⸻ CONCLUSION UNE DÉCISION À PRENDRE L’exhortation doit conduire chacun à cette confession : « Seigneur Jésus, je renonce à chercher en dehors de toi ce que toi seul peux être pour moi. Tu es mon salut, mon identité, ma source, ma force, ma paix, mon espérance et mon avenir. Je ne veux plus simplement avoir Christ dans ma vie ; je veux que Christ soit ma vie. » Déclaration finale Je n’ai pas besoin de quitter Christ pour trouver la vie. Je n’ai pas besoin de chercher ailleurs ce que Christ peut être pour moi. Je n’ai pas besoin de remplacer Christ. Je n’ai pas besoin d’un autre fondement. Je n’ai pas besoin d’une autre source. CHRIST SUFFIT ! Et parce que Christ suffit : Je demeure en Christ. Je m’enracine en Christ. Je me construis en Christ. Je me confie en Christ. Je marche avec Christ. Je sers Christ. His circumstances gave him many reasons to despair, yet he declared with confidence: “I know that my redeemer liveth.” Job's confidence was not based on what he could see. His situation was painful and uncertain, but his faith rested in the character of his Redeemer. There will be seasons when circumstances challenge our faith. We may not understand why certain things are happening, but we can still hold firmly to the truth that God lives, God cares, and God remains our Redeemer. Today, let your confidence be greater than your circumstances. You may not know how everything will work out, but you can know Who holds your future. Your situation is not the final chapter. When I am discouraged, renew my hope. When I cannot see the way forward, remind me that You are already there. Lord, redeem every area of my life that needs Your intervention. Redeem my time, opportunities, efforts, relationships, work, ministry, studies, and every good purpose You have placed within me. Bring restoration where there has been loss and renewal where there has been weakness. Turn painful experiences into testimonies and use my story for Your glory. Protect my family and establish everything concerning us according to Your perfect will. Help me never to allow my circumstances to become greater than my faith in You. Daily Confession:

Our hero makes a cup of Turkish coffee, gets his pack of cigarettes, and goes into his room, responding to some emails and messages, then goes to exercise in his home gym; the workout is the same with dumbbells, sometimes light barbell deadlifts, and simple moves with weights. He posts the workout live on YouTube; he has a YouTube channel, even though he does not know why he cares, but it gives him something to do when there is no work; it was a Monday; that's when he goes to church for bible study and a family prayer meeting. Being a Coptic Orthodox Christian is different; he loves the church, but he is always uneasy and confused and does not know where he stands about his faith; he believes in the creed. He was born on 9/9/1986; now he is 39 years old, has a lot more wisdom and knowledge about life and work, and he tries to follow Christ, but he always feels like he is not doing enough; being with mental illness determines what he can and cannot do, although he may pass as totally normal. It goes into his head: what is normal, who defines it, or how being normal can be defined; he is like 60% analytical, and the rest is just total and utterly unrealistic “he is out of his mind in the remaining 40%.” He comes back from church, takes his medication, and goes to sleep. He dreams of his father; they are having a conversation. Before he gets up, he tells his father I will talk to you when I get up, that is weird. : His father passed away like 10 years ago, and before that he had progressive supranuclear palsy and became paralyzed for the last 10 years of his life. This is the way with dreams, unrealistic and never complete, but sometimes his thinking is more unrealistic than his dreams. But if you ask him what his dreams are, he will not be able to answer; this is a question that he never had an answer to. Others dream of fame and fortune, but he thinks being unknown is amazing. Money for what? All lives start the same and end the same; money can buy luxuries that are unessential, and the most expensive foods, which go down the same. The world is fascinated with Alion Musk, President Trump and Mohamed Slah, without noticing the sacrifices they had to make, to live for their work and it only, they may look happy, they do what they love so they are happy, so do the work that makes you happy, but life and work is not that simple, young adults get married and within after 9 months their first born, they are not ready, but it is dictated by the community they live in, and it is a disaster not to have kids after 2 years of marriage, that is if the relationship happens in the context of marriage. This is thought that passed through his head, he realizes that he does not conform with his community and church, he grew up in a mix of ideas and beliefs, adding to that the tragedies that happened in his life, these morphed the person he is now, he believes in Christ, he loves others as he loves himself, but he knows that not one denomination has a monopoly on Christianity and that only God knows the hearts of his creation. But when he enters his church, he feels that God is truly present with him. When he listens to Christian songs that praise and glorify God, his spirit rejoices, and he feels a deep sense of peace and closeness to Him. He is also inspired by the way Catholics serve their communities, helping those in need and putting their faith into action through love, compassion, and service. But all these thoughts just hit a wall when he tries to articulate them to someone, specially to Orthodox and Catholics, he sees great understanding in Evangelicals. He realizes that those thoughts pop up because he has not gotten a project in a long time, but that is freelancing for you, he was unable to hold a steady paying job for more than 5 days, most of those was call center jobs, others were busboy jobs, he did not understand life as he does now. He works from home, but like all freelance jobs there is no steady salary, that is a problem for when and if the miracle happens and he finds a wife, it is not only the age and work it is also the medication he must take. May be deep down he think he does not deserve love; he cannot imagine his life with a wife and kids, how can he have children to face this life in this world, how can he repeat the cycle, and of course his feelings of impending doom and end, he is fascinated with Bible prophesy and the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Today he has a confession, he goes in and tries his best, he confesses his hesitation in the Orthodox faith, and that he cannot fast and be ready for communion, with his condition and all. He is sure of one thing that gods answer his prayers all of them, something happens and he remembers he prayed for that a long time ago, some answers are in the way. The medication timing can make or break the patient’s life, taking a sedating medication in the morning is very counterproductive, and if psychiatrists have their way all patients will be walking zombies, he sees this happens. Talking about the hospital, anyone how goes there may see it as a horrible place, he sees it as therapeutic, when you see people who can’t walk or unable to take care of their basic needs you really thank God for everything you can do and have. He sometimes thinks of his father and the cross he caried, to be totally paralyzed for 9 years, unable to speak, unable to move, unable to eat sold food, his father was a good man, he has his downfalls, but he had a good heart. Our hero remembers his first day in university, he was young and outright weird, with his father in this condition, he was unable to adapt, this is when his illness started, he tried his best to study but after his father passed away, he left this university in his third year. At the beginning of his healing journey his psychologist and mother were trying to push him to have a social life, like going to church meetings and university and other social events, she is a virtuous woman but narrowminded.

Guidelines for living. August 21st, 2026 Here’s The Only Way to Begin to Love This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:10-11 The greatest rivers in the world usually begin on the cold, frozen slopes of high mountains as the sun begins to melt snow and ice, and from the trickle of crystal-clear water a steam begins to flow and eventually a cascade of water plummets down the mountain. In the valley far below, the stream becomes a river, then a great river which we call the Nile, the Amazon, the Ganges, the Rhine, or whatever. By the time these massive bodies of water reach the ocean, they may be kilometers wide, and they are muddy and polluted. Now, apply that same concept to the biblical truth that God is love. John tells us this in the New Testament, and the farther we are from Him, seemingly the more polluted love becomes. By the time it has been filtered through human lust, what we call love is a far cry from the compelling love which caused God to send His Son long ago. Love is not a platitude, it is an action, an unconditional commitment to care, a decision of your heart. True, love is what the world needs. The words of a song popular a generation ago said it all: “The world is dying, dying for a little bit of love,” says one verse. If you’ve been following this series based on Paul’s great chapter on love, found in the New Testament in 1 Corinthians 13, you have focused on love’s characteristics, but any discussion of the subject would be incomplete without a few words of encouragement for you whose river of love has either evaporated in the desert of life, or else become so polluted you hardly know what the real thing is. When God touches your heart, your life will change. God takes up residence in your life, and the mud of sin is washed away. When pollution is eliminated, you start loving. This is the miracle of conversion. This is the answer to the lovelessness and the selfishness which destroys relationships. Joining a church, turning over a new leaf, going to confession, just “being religious,” is not the solution. A relationship with God through His son is the only way you will really begin to love. I will give you three simple guidelines that will help. Guideline #1: Acknowledge you need a relationship with God and confess that sin has stopped the flow of love in your life. It’s easy to point a finger and say, “Well, it was his fault; her fault.” The solution is saying, “God, I need you. Forgive me. Touch my life.” Guideline #2: Ask God’s forgiveness for your failure—not the other person’s—and ask Him to be Lord and Savior. Jesus gave us a promise. He said, “I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and have fellowship with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20). That promise has your name on it, friend. Guideline #3: Begin loving in simple steps, one day at a time. When you fail and fall back into those old habits and a loveless way, quickly admit your wrong; ask God’s help to overcome it. Friend, you can talk about love until you have calluses on your vocal cords, but until you get back to the fountain and the source of love, who is God Himself, you’ll never lay hold of the real thing: the God kind of love that changes the world. So, go back to the source. It’s the only way to fill your cup and have enough left over for someone else in your life. Love is not a pious platitude. It’s the answer. Resource Reading: 1 John 4:1-21

Conflict and Courage. 2 Chronicles 32:1-23 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah, king of Judah. 2 Chronicles 32:8. Hezekiah, in the earlier years of his reign, had continued to pay tribute to Assyria, in harmony with the agreement entered into by Ahaz. Meanwhile the king had taken “counsel with his princes and his mighty men,” and had done everything possible for the defense of his kingdom.... The long-expected crisis finally came. The forces of Assyria, advancing from triumph to triumph, appeared in Judea.... Judah's only hope was now in God. All possible help from Egypt had been cut off, and no other nations were near to lend a friendly hand.... Sennacherib wrote “letters to rail on the Lord God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver His people out of mine hand.” ... When the king of Judah received the taunting letter, he took it into the temple and “spread it before the Lord” and prayed with strong faith for help from heaven, that the nations of earth might know that the God of the Hebrews still lived and reigned. The honor of Jehovah was at stake; He alone could bring deliverance.... Hezekiah was not left without hope. Isaiah sent to him, saying, “Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to Me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.” ... That very night deliverance came. “The angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand.” ... The God of the Hebrews had prevailed over the proud Assyrian. The honor of Jehovah was vindicated in the eyes of the surrounding nations. In Jerusalem the hearts of the people were filled with holy joy. Their earnest entreaties for deliverance had been mingled with confession of sin and with many tears. In their great need they had trusted wholly in the power of God to save, and He had not failed them.31Ibid., 350-362.
