Council of Laodicea • Rome's Attempts to Control the Church (Article) ❌ The false church's attempts to destroy the things of God. Some of the crimes of the council of Laodicea: ● Permitting divorced people to marry again and partake in holy communion (holy Eucharist - the broken bread and the cup in remembrance of the Lord). ● The changing of Sabbath from the seventh day to the first day (Sunday) & forbidding Christians from resting and abstaining from work on the seventh day. ● Categorizing some Christian/Jewish books & manuscripts as permitted (Canonical) or not permitted (Apocryphal). For example The Book of Enoch & the Epistle of Barnabas etc. Forbidding many cherished books from being read in church services. Anyone can figure out Rome's (what was to develop into Vatican's) hypocrisy arising from this and similar councils and attempts to control Christianity even to this day.
