The Key to Breakthrough Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16 Did you know over 70% of Messiah’ ministry focused on healing the sick, casting out demons, and performing miracles? In Acts 10:38, Luke beautifully summarizes His work, “Yahwah anointed Messiah of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for Yahwah was with Him.” Messiah went around healing how many? All who were oppressed! The wonderful news is He continues to heal today. Hebrews 13:8 reminds us, “Messiah is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” You may be wondering—why don’t we witness more miracles in our lives? why don’t we witness more miracles and healings in our lives? The answer could be simple—we often don’t ask. James 4:2 states, “...Ye have not because you ask not.” In Matthew 7:7, Messiah encourages us, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." You might say I’ve asked and asked and still have not received my miracle or healing!” Please remember Yahwah is not on our time clock. If I had my way when found out I had hepatitis C I would have been healed immediately. But my eventual healing was not on my time but Yahwah’s! We also have to remember what it says in the end of Matthew 5:45 “…for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. Friend, in walking with Messiah for 36 years, I’ve learned Yahwah delights in answering our prayers! Is there something you’re believing Yahwah for right now? Does it feel like it’s taking a long time to come to pass? Be encouraged - Yahwah’s Word assures us that through faith and patience, we will inherit His promises. If you stay in faith and keep seeking, your breakthrough is on the horizon!

The Bible’s Big Story The Bible is one unified book telling the story of God’s glory through creation, humanity’s rebellion, God’s covenant promises, and their complete fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Everything moves toward Christ’s preeminence. The Old Testament prepares the way; the New Testament reveals Him as the fulfillment. Together they form 66 inspired books—39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New. The Old Testament (39 Books): God’s Promises and Preparation The Old Testament shows God creating the world, choosing a people, giving them His law, and promising a coming King who would fix what sin broke. It repeatedly points forward to the Messiah. Law (Pentateuch – 5 books): Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. These lay the foundation. Genesis shows creation, the fall, and God’s first promises. Exodus–Deuteronomy record God’s rescue of Israel from Egypt, the giving of the Torah at Sinai, and the covenant instructions for a holy people. Historical Books (12 books): Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1–2 Samuel, 1–2 Kings, 1–2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther. They trace Israel’s life in the Promised Land, their cycles of obedience and rebellion, the rise and fall of the monarchy, exile in Babylon, and return. They demonstrate that human kings fail, but God remains faithful to His promises. Wisdom and Poetry (5 books): Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon. These teach how to live wisely under God’s rule. They explore suffering, worship, daily righteousness, the emptiness of life without God, and the beauty of covenant love. Prophets (17 books): Major Prophets (5): Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel. Minor Prophets (12): Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi. The prophets confront idolatry, call for repentance, warn of judgment, and repeatedly promise a coming Deliverer, a new covenant, and a kingdom that will never end. The entire Old Testament builds expectation: a seed of the woman, a descendant of Abraham, a prophet like Moses, a son of David, a suffering servant, and a King who will reign forever. The New Testament (27 Books): Christ’s Arrival and the New Creation The New Testament announces that Jesus is the promised King. He is the preeminent One in whom all God’s promises find their “Yes” (2 Corinthians 1:20). It shows His life, death, resurrection, the birth of the church, and the final renewal of all things. Gospels (4 books): Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. These present Jesus from four angles: as King (Matthew), servant (Mark), perfect man (Luke), and eternal God (John). They record His teaching, miracles, crucifixion for sins, and resurrection. History (1 book): Acts. Luke’s second volume shows the Holy Spirit empowering the early church to take the gospel from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. It records the rapid spread of the message that Jesus is Lord. Letters (21 books): Paul’s Letters (13): Romans, 1–2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1–2 Thessalonians, 1–2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon. These explain the gospel, the meaning of Christ’s work, how the church should live, and how believers stand secure in Him. General Letters (8): Hebrews, James, 1–2 Peter, 1–3 John, Jude. These encourage perseverance, warn against false teaching, and call for holy living. Prophecy (1 book): Revelation. This apocalyptic letter reveals Christ as the victorious Lamb and coming King. It comforts suffering believers and shows the final defeat of evil and the making of a new heaven and new earth. How the Two Testaments Fit Together The Old Testament is not obsolete. Jesus said He came to fulfill it, not abolish it (Matthew 5:17). The New Testament constantly quotes and explains the Old, showing that Christ is the true temple, the better Moses, the perfect high priest, the faithful Israel, and the eternal King. Everything in the Bible centers on the supremacy and preeminence of Christ that we have been studying in Colossians 1. He is the goal of the Old Testament promises and the living reality of the New Testament gospel. The whole book calls you to trust Him, repent of sin, and live under His rule until He returns. ARE YOU A PHARISEE? MATTHEW 16:6,12 NKJ 6 Then Jesus said to them, "Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees." 12 Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Why did Jesus warn His disciples to beware of the Pharisees? What did they do wrong? (An entire chapter of the Bible (Matthew 23) is Jesus' teaching against the Pharisees.) The Pharisees were conservative, faithful "church" members. They accepted the Bible as the written Word of God. They paid tithes. They believed in miracles (at least in days past). They wouldn't dream of stealing, committing adultery, or such things. You would like living next to a Pharisee as they were model citizens. But instead of having a living relationship with God, the Pharisees took the Word of God and made just another dead religion out of it. The Pharisee way of thinking is: keep up appearances. "It doesn't matter so much what you are on the inside, as long as you keep the rules (at least publicly)." Notice that Jesus likened their teaching to leaven, or yeast. Why? Yeast spreads easily and rapidly. Humans are very susceptible to approaching God in this manner, "Keep the rules. Just do these 10 things and you are OK." Different groups may have different rules, but we all accumulate them. It may be how many times each week you must attend church meetings, or what kind of clothes you must wear, or how you must wear your hair. Or, it may be a list of things you cannot do. But, as long as you meet these requirements, you are in good standing with your group (or denomination). But, good standing with God is based on only one thing according to the New Testament: faith in what Jesus did for us. That alone is what makes us right with God. Not our works, but Jesus' work. LUKE 12:1 NKJ 1 ... He began to say to His disciples first of all, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. The Pharisees were hypocrites. That is, they put on an act. What they pretended to be in public was not really what they were like in private. They claimed to be perfect in keeping God's law, but as humans they were all sinners, just like the rest of the people were. Yet, in public, they insisted that others keep the Law perfectly, or be condemned. They were quick to pass judgment on others, and slow to extend mercy or help. The Pharisees had a legalistic view of God's Word and did not realize that God was merciful and wanted to help people. 2 CORINTHIANS 3:6 NKJ 6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Using God's Word to "kill" instead of using it to minister life is wrong. God's Word is meant to help people and lift them up, not place such hard demands on them that they cannot ever measure up. When we load people down with heavy loads of rules to keep in order to be right with God, we are ministers of death. MATTHEW 23:1-5 NLT 1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 "The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses. 3 So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don't follow their example. For they don't practice what they teach. 4 They crush people with impossible religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden. 5 "Everything they do is for show. . . . If your "Christianity" is nothing more than a list of "do's and don'ts" then you are missing real Christianity, which is a living relationship with Jesus Christ. SAY THIS: Jesus does not want me to act like a Pharisee. God bless you!

His condition became an opportunity for Jesus to reveal the power and glory of God. The disciples asked whether his blindness was caused by his own sin or the sin of his parents. But Jesus redirected their attention from blame to purpose. «“Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.” — John 9:3» Sometimes we focus so much on “Why did this happen?” that we fail to ask, “What can God do through this?” Jesus is still able to bring light into places where people see only darkness. 🔥 THREE TRUTHS FROM JOHN 9 1️⃣ JESUS CAN TURN IMPOSSIBLE SITUATIONS INTO TESTIMONIES. 🙌🏽 The man had never seen. Humanly speaking, his condition seemed permanent. But one encounter with Jesus changed his story. What people may consider hopeless is never beyond the reach of Christ. Your present situation is not necessarily the final chapter of your life. God can still write a testimony. ✝️ 2️⃣ SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS IS GREATER THAN PHYSICAL BLINDNESS. 👁️❤️ The man received physical sight, but the religious leaders who could physically see were spiritually blind. They witnessed the miracle but refused to recognize Jesus. This teaches us that it is possible to have healthy physical eyes and yet have a heart that cannot see the truth. We need more than physical sight. We need spiritual eyes to recognize Christ, understand His Word and follow His ways. «“One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.” — John 9:25» What a testimony! The man did not have an answer for every theological argument. He simply knew what Jesus had done for him. Your testimony is evidence of God's work in your life. 🔥 3️⃣ TRUE SIGHT LEADS US TO WORSHIP JESUS. 🙏🏽 When Jesus found the man after he had been rejected, Jesus revealed Himself to him. The man responded: «“Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.” — John 9:38» This is the ultimate purpose of spiritual revelation. When God opens your eyes to who Jesus is, your response should be faith, surrender and worship. We do not seek miracles merely for the miracle. We seek Christ. We do not follow Jesus only because of what He can give us. We follow Him because He is Lord. 🌿 TODAY'S REFLECTION There are different kinds of blindness. Some people are blind to God's goodness. Some are blind to their own condition. Some are blind to the truth of God's Word. Some are blind to the opportunities God has placed before them. And some are blind to the presence of Jesus. Today, ask God: “Lord, open my eyes.” Open my eyes to see Your goodness. Open my eyes to see my weaknesses. Open my eyes to understand Your Word. Open my eyes to recognize Your direction. Open my eyes to see Jesus more clearly. Never allow familiarity, pride or unbelief to make you spiritually blind. The man in John 9 moved from blindness to sight, from rejection to acceptance, and from ignorance to worship. May that also be your testimony. I was blind, but now I see! 👁️🔥 🙏🏽 PRAYER Heavenly Father, Thank You for Jesus Christ, the Light of the world. Lord, open my spiritual eyes. Remove every blindness that prevents me from seeing You clearly and understanding Your Word. Help me to recognize Your presence even when circumstances are difficult. Where I have been confused, give me clarity. Where I have been spiritually blind, give me revelation. Where I have been discouraged, give me hope. Where I have been rejected, remind me that I am accepted in Christ. Let my life become a testimony of Your transforming power. May I never allow the opinions of people to make me deny what You have done in my life. Give me grace to believe, follow and worship Jesus faithfully. ✝️ THE GOSPEL FROM CALVARY 📅 Wednesday, 19th August, 2026 🍷 JESUS: THE MIRACLE WORKER AND TEMPLE OF GOD ✝️🔥 📜 TEXT: JOHN 2:1–25 📜 🔑📖 KEY VERSE: «“This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.” — John 2:11 (KJV)» John 2 introduces us to two significant events in the ministry of Jesus: His first recorded miracle at Cana and His cleansing of the temple. These two events reveal something powerful about Jesus. He is not only able to change circumstances; He also desires to cleanse and transform lives. At Cana, Jesus turned water into wine. In the temple, Jesus confronted everything that had corrupted a place meant for worship. The message is clear: Jesus has power to transform what is empty, restore what is broken, and cleanse what has become polluted. 🔥✝️ 🔥 THREE LESSONS FROM JOHN 2 1️⃣ INVITE JESUS INTO YOUR SITUATION. 🕊️ At the wedding in Cana, the wine ran out. Mary brought the situation to Jesus. John 2:3 says: «“They have no wine.”» The situation appeared embarrassing and hopeless. But Jesus was present. Sometimes we focus so much on what is missing that we forget who is present. You may have a situation that seems impossible today. You may have run out of strength. You may have run out of resources. You may feel like your joy has disappeared. But if Jesus is present, there is still hope. ❤️‍🔥 Take your situation to Jesus. Don't only complain about it. Don't surrender to fear. Don't depend solely on human strength. Bring it to Christ. 🙏🏽 💧 2️⃣ JESUS CAN TRANSFORM THE ORDINARY INTO SOMETHING GLORIOUS. 🔥 Jesus instructed the servants to fill six waterpots with water. Then He performed the miracle. Water became wine. John 2:9 records the servants' astonishment at what had happened. This teaches us that Jesus can take ordinary things and use them for extraordinary purposes. Your life may look ordinary. Your resources may seem small. Your abilities may seem insignificant. But when you place them in the hands of Jesus, He can do something extraordinary. Never underestimate what God can do with a surrendered life. Your testimony can change. Your character can change. Your family can change. Your ministry can change. Your future can change. Jesus is still a transformer. 🔥 ❤️‍🔥 3️⃣ OBEDIENCE IS PART OF THE MIRACLE. 👣 The servants at Cana had a role to play. They had to fill the waterpots. They had to draw out the water. They had to obey the instructions of Jesus. They did not understand everything Jesus was doing, but they obeyed. Sometimes we want to see God's miracle while refusing to follow God's instructions. But faith and obedience belong together. When Jesus says forgive—obey. When Jesus says pray—obey. When Jesus says leave sin—obey. When Jesus says serve—obey. When Jesus says go—obey. You don't need to understand everything before you obey God. 🏛️ JESUS CLEANSES THE TEMPLE Later in John 2, Jesus entered the temple and found people buying and selling. The house of worship had become a marketplace. Jesus drove them out and declared: «“Make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.” — John 2:16» Jesus was deeply concerned about the holiness of God's house. This should challenge us as believers. Paul later teaches that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we must ask: What have I allowed into my life that Jesus would want to remove? Are there attitudes that need to go? Is there bitterness that needs to go? Is there secret sin that needs to go? Are there relationships that are pulling you away from God? Are there habits that are damaging your spiritual life? 🧹 LET JESUS CLEAN YOUR TEMPLE Sometimes we ask Jesus to bless our lives while resisting His desire to cleanse our lives. We want His miracles but not His correction. We want His blessings but not His discipline. We want His presence but not His holiness. But Jesus does both: He transforms and He cleanses. Allow Him to examine your heart. Allow Him to remove what does not glorify Him. Allow Him to restore your spiritual altar. 🔥 DON'T TURN YOUR WORSHIP INTO A TRANSACTION The temple was designed for worship, but it had become a place of business. This warns us against treating God like a transaction. Don't serve God only because you want something. Don't pray only when you need something. Don't worship only when life is going well. Don't follow Christ only for blessings. Jesus deserves our worship because He is Lord. 👑✝️ 👑 JESUS KNOWS WHAT IS IN OUR HEARTS John 2:24–25 says that Jesus knew all people and knew what was in man. You may hide things from people, but nothing is hidden from Christ. He knows your thoughts. He knows your motives. He knows your struggles. He knows your secret battles. And yet He still calls you closer. Therefore, don't run from Jesus because of what He already knows. Run to Him for transformation. ❤️‍🔥 ✍🏽 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When Jesus enters your life, He does not only change your circumstances; He also cleanses your heart and transforms you into a vessel for His glory. 🔥✝️ 🙏🏽 PRAYER Heavenly Father, Thank You for revealing the power and glory of Jesus Christ through His Word. Lord Jesus, come into every area of my life. Transform what needs to be transformed and restore what has been broken. Teach me to trust You even when I do not understand Your ways. Give me grace to obey Your Word completely. Cleanse my heart from every attitude, habit, desire, relationship, and sin that does not glorify You. Make my life a holy temple where Your presence is welcomed and Your name is honored. Help me never to treat my relationship with You as a transaction. Let my worship come from a genuine heart that loves and honors You. May Your glory be revealed through my life. He claims to be Christ, and he is coming in, pretending to be the great medical missionary. He will cause fire to come down from heaven in the sight of men to prove that he is God.—Medical Ministry, 87, 88 (1903). – {LDE 167.4} It is stated in the Word that the enemy will work through his agents who have departed from the faith, and they will seemingly work miracles, even to the bringing down of fire out of heaven in the sight of men.—Selected Messages 2:54 (1907). – {LDE 167.5}

Daily Bible Lesson. THE DANGER OF A HALF GOSPEL "For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God." — Acts 20:27 (KJV) There is a burden on my heart that I cannot remain silent about. The greatest deception in Christianity is not always an outright denial of Christ—it is the preaching of another gospel that leaves out the whole counsel of God. A gospel that emphasizes only what people want to hear while neglecting what God has commanded is not the gospel entrusted to the apostles. Many today preach messages such as: - "Any day is your Sabbath." - "Christ is our Sabbath, so the seventh-day Sabbath no longer matters." - "We are no longer under the law." - "The Ten Commandments are no longer binding." - "The Ten Commandments were only for the Jews." - "Since we are under the New Covenant, God's law no longer matters." - "Grace means obedience is optional." These teachings often comfort people in their sins instead of calling them to repentance, faith, and obedience. They present a Christ who saves from the penalty of sin while ignoring that He also saves from the power of sin. Jesus Himself said: «"If ye love me, keep my commandments." — John 14:15» The apostle Paul declared: «"Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." — Romans 3:31» Grace is never a license to continue in disobedience. «"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation... teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world." — Titus 2:11–12» The true gospel is far more than prosperity, miracles, healing, or motivational speeches. Those things may have their place, but they are not the sum of the gospel. The gospel proclaims Christ crucified, risen, and ministering for His people. It calls sinners to repentance, faith, holiness, obedience, and complete surrender to God. Scripture plainly says: «"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." — Hebrews 12:14» When churches preach only pleasant messages and avoid the parts of God's Word that call for repentance and obedience, they leave people spiritually unprepared. A message that never confronts sin cannot produce genuine holiness. The Bible repeatedly warns believers to test every doctrine. «"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God." — 1 John 4:1» «"Though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you... let him be accursed." — Galatians 1:8–9» Do not build your hope of salvation on popular opinions, human traditions, or teachings that set aside the clear commandments of God. Build your faith upon the whole Word of God. The gospel is not merely about feeling better—it is about becoming new in Christ. The call of Scripture is not comfort in sin, but victory over sin through Jesus Christ. Study the Bible for yourself. Test every doctrine by Scripture. Hold fast to the truth, and follow Christ wherever He leads. "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." — John 17:17 Be warned. Eternity is too important to entrust to a half gospel.

Matthew 20:17-34 Jesus was always clear that He demands it all from us if we are to follow Him. And during this journey of miracles, feedings and teaching Jesus again warns them of the fact that when they arrive in Jerusalem that He would be handed over to be killed. Now what the disciples were thinking I can't tell you. Maybe they thought that if they ignored it long enough it just won't happen. Maybe they thought this was another parable they didn't understand fully, yet. But they were too scared to ask. He told them He would be raised on the third day but that good news didn't really get through their heads. Because to accept the good part they had to mentally accept the bad part. A ‘raising from the dead’ can't be done before the death part comes. And it is in this context I believe that James and John’s mothers’ prayer for her sons was answered. Her prayer? That it would be her sons seated at Jesus’ left and right hands in the Kingdom. No doubt being the Jewish mother of all mothers she wanted her boys on the leadership council when He takes his Kingdom. She wanted them to be preeminent amongst all the disciples and Jesus is horrified at the request because he knows what it will mean for them and her. She was thinking they would be powerful, Jesus knew it would cost their lives. Are you able to drink the cup I am about to drink? He asked, are you able and willing to die for this position? And they affirmed it. And that is the point that God made these two men the effective book ends for the Martyrdom that would claim the lives of all apostles. James was the first Apostle to die. Acts 12:1-2 [1] Now about that time Herod the king laid hands on some who belonged to the church, to do them harm. [2] And he had James the brother of John executed with a sword. Herod was insane, but he was a people pleaser and when the church began making inroads into Jewish life and James’ death marks the beginning of the effort that led to the continued persecution of the church and the death of the apostles. After James’ death, the enemy used the one tactic that would continually fail throughout history, persecution. Yes, some solid Christian leaders fell to the violence, but persecution always spurred on mighty works of the Spirit which grew the church. The one strategy the enemy believed would discourage the church became the catalyst for rapid expansion of Christianity worldwide. And it was encompassed by these Bookends of Martyrdom, James and John. A position their mother believed would be an honor to them not realizing that honor would claim their lives as James became the first and John the last to give their lives for Him. Think of the reception in Heaven when these young men arrived. Their arrival is a victory celebration in eternity while those who believed they were in the right for killing them celebrated here, temporarily. And now they suffer eternally. Be careful mothers about what you pray for. You may end up getting it. The passage ends with healing blind men on their way. And amongst his warning of His impending death, His followers' fates and a prayer for a blessing she didn't fully comprehend Jesus has compassion and heals them. [17] As Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the road He said to them, [18] “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, [19] and they will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and flog and crucify, and on the third day He will be raised up.” [20] Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him. [21] And He said to her, “What do you desire?” She *said to Him, “Say that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine shall sit, one at Your right, and one at Your left.” [22] But Jesus replied, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They *said to Him, “We are able.” [23] He *said to them, “My cup you shall drink; but to sit at My right and at My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father.” [24] And after hearing this, the other ten disciples became indignant with the two brothers. [25] But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles domineer over them, and those in high position exercise authority over them. [26] It is not this way among you, but whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant, [27] and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave; [28] just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” [29] As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him. [30] And two people who were blind, sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” [31] But the crowd sternly warned them to be quiet; yet they cried out all the more, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” [32] And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” [33] They *said to Him, “Lord, we want our eyes to be opened.” [34] Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.

I am not a Christian for healing, prosperity, or miracles, but because of what Jesus did on the cross to give me justification from my sin. There is no bigger miracle than the work of the Calvary cross
