Season Of Life ! Life is full of seasons. Just as nature has summer, rainy season, harvest, and dry season, every human being also passes through different seasons in life. There are seasons of joy, pain, growth, waiting, breakthrough, testing, lifting, and restoration. Many people become frustrated because they do not understand the season they are in. Some quit too early in their season of waiting. Others misuse their season of abundance and later suffer lack. The Bible teaches us that God works according to times and seasons. Nothing in life remains permanent except God Himself. Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” This means: Your present condition is not your final destination. Pain has a season. Delay has a season. Celebration has a season. Weeping has a season. Breakthrough also has a season. 1. There Is A Season For Growth Before God promotes a man publicly, He first grows him privately. Luke 2:52 “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” Growth season is not always comfortable. It is a season where: God teaches you patience God builds your character God removes pride God develops spiritual maturity A seed must first stay under the soil before it becomes a tree. Psalm 1:3 “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season…” Notice the phrase: “in his season.” Fruit does not appear overnight. Lessons From The Growth Season Do not despise small beginnings. Learn while waiting. Remain faithful in little things. Stay connected to God. 2. There Is A Season Of Waiting Waiting seasons are difficult because nothing seems to move quickly. Many people in the Bible experienced waiting: Abraham waited for Isaac Joseph waited in prison Hannah waited for Samuel David waited before becoming king Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time… though it tarry, wait for it…” God’s delays are not God’s denial. Sometimes God allows waiting because: Your blessing is being prepared Your character is being refined The timing is not yet right Greater glory is coming later Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…” What To Do In Waiting Seasons Keep praying Keep believing Avoid comparing yourself with others Remain obedient Stay hopeful 3. There Is A Season Of Testing Every believer will face trials. 1 Peter 1:6-7 “Though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations…” Tests reveal what is inside a person. Gold is purified through fire. Strong faith is developed through trials. Job went through a painful season, yet he remained faithful. Job 13:15 “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him…” Purposes Of Testing Seasons To strengthen faith To build endurance To humble us To prepare us for greater assignments Never make permanent decisions because of temporary seasons. 4. There Is A Season Of Harvest After sowing and waiting comes harvest. Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” “Due season” means the right appointed time. God rewards faithfulness. Joseph’s prison season ended. Hannah’s tears ended. Israel’s bondage ended. Your harvest season may include: Promotion Open doors Healing Financial breakthrough Restoration Spiritual revival Psalm 126:5 “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” 5. There Is A Season Of Change Life changes. Situations change. Seasons change. Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing…” God specializes in changing difficult seasons. Darkness can become light. Failure can become success. Barrenness can become fruitfulness. Shame can become glory. Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…” Even painful seasons can produce blessings when surrendered to God. 6. Do Not Mismanage Your Season Different seasons require different wisdom. Ecclesiastes 3:2-8 The Bible mentions: A time to plant A time to harvest A time to mourn A time to laugh A time for war A time for peace Many people fail because they act wrongly in the wrong season. Examples Sleeping during planting season leads to poverty. Pride during prosperity leads to downfall. Impatience during waiting season leads to error. Ask God for discernment to understand your season. 7. God Controls Every Season No season lasts forever. Daniel 2:21 “And he changeth the times and the seasons…” God is in control even when life feels confusing. The storm has an expiry date. The pain has an expiry date. The struggle has an expiry date. Your current season will not defeat God’s purpose for your life. Conclusion Every life passes through seasons: Seasons of joy Seasons of sorrow Seasons of growth Seasons of testing Seasons of waiting Seasons of harvest Do not give up because of a difficult season. A farmer does not abandon the field because harvest has not yet appeared. Stay faithful. Stay prayerful. Stay obedient. Your season will change. Psalm 30:5 “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Prayer Points Father, help me to understand the season of my life. Lord, give me grace to remain faithful in difficult seasons. Every evil season assigned against my destiny, be terminated in Jesus’ name. Father, let my season of breakthrough and favor appear. Lord, turn my waiting season into a testimony. Father, help me not to miss my divine timing. O Lord, let every dry season in my life receive fresh rain.
