"Visite aquele spa! Veja seu estresse derreter enquanto relaxa e encontra equilíbrio!"

E ainda assim, tão poucas pessoas parecem realmente felizes.

  • WHERE I LEARNT TO LIVE BY FAITH ( Reinhard Bonnke)
While attending Swansea bible college we were forced to live by faith. We prayed for everything. For the huge supply of winter coal necessary to heat our buildings, to the bus fare to take us street preaching on the weekends.
The school supplied only food and lodging for us. All the extras we were instructed to “pray in.” And always, we were required to pray in secret without publicly mentioning our needs. This had been George Müller’s legacy and the legacy of Rees Howells as well. Now Rees’s son Samuel followed the faith path. I learned to embrace it.
Whenever a student or staff member saw their need met by the Lord they would testify about it. These stories were meant to encourage the other students to live in complete dependence upon God. The phrase that was used when God met a need was, “I’ve been delivered.”
Samuel Howells joined us in a student prayer meeting one morning not long after I arrived. Winter was knocking at the door. Nighttime temperatures were plunging toward the freezing mark. He asked that we pray for several hundred pounds to buy coal to heat the classrooms and dormitories. This amount was needed by the end of the week. To me this seemed like a huge sum. I had never faced a need so large. Nor had I been forced to come up with such an amount so quickly. I joined my prayers with the others and waited to see what God would do.
At the end of the week Samuel returned to our prayer meeting. His eyes were bright and his face beaming.
“Praise God! We’ve been delivered,” he said.
Right then, I prayed in my heart, Lord, I also want to be a man of faith. I want to see Your way of providing for needs.
Soon thereafter, a missionary visited the college. As he spoke, I heard the Lord speak in my heart to give all the money I had received from home. My parents and the church in Krempe and Glückstadt sent packages containing gifts and money to help me with expenses beyond room and board. This was all I had. I agreed to give it, but then I decided to hold back one pound for emergencies. Just one pound, I reasoned. As I prepared to make the gift, I knew God had asked for all of my spending money. How would I know what He would do if I continued to hold back? I gave it all.
Time passed, and I had nearly forgotten about it. One Saturday, an invitation came asking me to minister on Sunshine Corner Beach near Swansea. This was a popular weekend gathering place for families. A local church had established a regular outreach to children there. I invited Teun de Ruiter, a fellow student from Holland, to accompany me. As we searched our pockets, we found that I had exactly enough bus fare to get us both there but no money to bring us back. We prayed and decided that we would put our faith to the test. We would go and believe God for the return fare.
We went. The ministry was fine. As we finished and returned to the bus stop, the pastor of the church came walking along the street. He recognized us and knew we had been ministering on the beach. I felt immediately that I was witnessing the deliverance God had planned for us.
“Hey boys, would you join me for a cup of tea?”
“We would love to,” I said.
He took us to a local cafe near the beach, and we had several cups of tea and passed the time in pleasant conversation. When we finished, he called for the bill and opened his wallet to pay. I looked inside and saw more
money than I could imagine. I began talking to God about it. I felt sure He had brought this man to us as our provision for the return trip. Surely God would move on him in his abundance to donate our return bus fare now.
We would say nothing about it.
“Well, thank you for the tea,” I said. “We must be going now. We have to catch a bus back to school.”
This broad hint fell on deaf ears. He paid the bill, closed his wallet, and did not offer to pay for anything more. We smiled grimly at one another as he walked away, leaving us at the bus stop.
The bus would soon arrive, and we had no fare. How would we make it? In my heart I prayed, “Lord, where is the fare? How will You provide?”
Just then, a woman who was leaving the beach area saw us at the stop. As the bus approached, she came running.
“Boys, here is a little something for you. Thank you so much for ministering on the beach today. I so appreciate it.”
She grabbed my hand and pressed money into it, then walked away leaving us standing there. When I looked down and counted it, it was exactly enough for bus fare for both of us to return to school.
“Praise God, Teun! We’ve been delivered!”
I felt that day like I was walking in the footsteps of George Müller and Rees Howells. More than that, I was learning something important about my relationship to my heavenly Father. It is never my job to second-guess His provision.
He might use a preacher, a woman, a layman, a criminal, a saint, a natural disaster, a beggar – or He might tell me to take my fishing pole and go look in the mouth of a fish for my bus fare. He is unlimited, and it is His delight to surprise us.
Most of all, I was beginning to learn that faith in God would take me places I would not otherwise go. It would produce results I would not otherwise see. Jesus said that with faith we could speak to a mountain and see it removed into the sea. I was not moving mountains yet, but with faith, my relationship to God had come alive. It was dynamic, making a difference in the world around me.

  • What Happened To Your Joy?

    Written By Becky Toews
What then has become of your blessedness?
    Galatians 4:15
How would you feel if someone asked you that question? “What has become of your blessedness?” Or, “what happened to your joy?”

Paul asked the Galatians that question. The joy they had experienced when they first came to Jesus was slowly dying. Dying, because they had fallen back into old patterns of legalism. And nothing kills joy like feeling you have to cross every t and dot every i to be acceptable to God…. or anyone for that matter.

But it’s not just legalism that can steal our joy. For many of us, the weight of responsibility creeps in to overshadow the joys in life. Or financial issues, health problems, relationship struggles consume our thoughts.

Christianity is a joyful religion. CS Lewis writes in Letters to Malcolm: Chiefly on Prayer, that joy is the “serious business of heaven.” All the momentary joys we experience here on the earth are but inklings of what we will discover in eternity. God made us for those permanent pleasures, but limits their duration while on earth, lest they distract us. Lewis says, “Our Father refreshes us on the journey with some pleasant inns, but will not encourage us to mistake them for home.”

Some of those “pleasant inns” for me include “inns” like lattes and scones at my favorite café. Joys like giving my new granddaughter her first doll, walking in new fallen snow, reading a good book. Maybe your “inn” entails a trip to the beach, preparing a delicious meal or traveling somewhere new.

As enjoyable as these temporary pleasures may be, they are but “foretastes of glory divine.” God gives them to help us counter the inevitable disappointments, setbacks, and seasons of stress we encounter in fallen life. So joy (even though impermanent) protects us from giving in to the harder sides of life.

So I believe the question of what happened to your joy stands as an indictment on losing our perspective on what really matters. Because when we feel joyful, we feel grateful. And gratitude takes our eyes off ourselves and on to God. Don’t let anything steal your joy.

Lord, forgive me when I fail to appreciate the many good things you send my way. Help me develop a heart of gratitude and walk in the joy you want me to have.

Throughout the Day: Think of all the “pleasant inns” God has given you. Be intentional in praising him for each one.

  • Some family members feels you owe them your life, just because they sacrifice to groom you up when you where a baby, up to the time that they see you to through school or because one point in time you where afflicted they help you out to get well, they feel you owe them your life or that they are your God! Some mothers will say if I didn't breastfeed you, you wouldn't have been alive! I am saying today damn that recitoric or that cheap black mail from our Nigerian Mothers! It's just but a big lie, the reason why God place you in your family is not because owe your mother a big favor, but because there is a need for you in that family! God could have as well place you in another family, but he had to place you in that family, not because any human should take the role of God in your life but because there is a need for you in that family! If you critically look at the story of Joseph, God allowed Joseph to be place in Jacob family because, Joseph has a need to meet there, which is to save them from the impending famine, not because he owes his existence to his family, but because God needs him in Jacob family at that time.

Even a child who was born due to an unwanted pregnancy, and dumped by the mother on a gutter beside the road to die can still survive with the help of God and others who don't even know the child, still go through school and become successful in life!

Society is decaying and we need to check it, in the 1990s in the heart of Benin City while I was growing up, there was nothing like internet fraud (Yahoo). People make decent living and place priority on working to earn your own living! In year 2000s upward everything changed in Benin City, people even without laptops those days go to cyber cafe, spent all the night in the cafe just to use Yahoo mail messager to defraud foreigners with a disgusted of dating. The reason for the rise of cybercrime was because of peer and family pressure to make it through shortcuts.

I want to advise every young people out there to avoid peer and family pressures, and not to be took quick to seek riches or fame, or to please human being, but God!

Your existence belongs to God Almighty! And know that you are place in your family for a need and never to be pressured by any one!

Some family members feels you owe them your life, just because they sacrifice to groom you up when you where a baby, up to the time that they see you to through school or because one point in time you where afflicted they help you out to get well, they feel you owe them your life or that they are your God! • The heart of small-town living provides a tranquil ambiance that urban areas often lack. With rolling hills, friendly neighbors, and a slower pace of life, entrepreneurs are discovering that they can work from home, a quaint café, or a small local office without sacrificing their professional ambitions.
