    Choose Mercy Over Judgment

    How quickly we judge.

    A single mistake.
    One misunderstanding.
    One disappointing moment.

And suddenly, we think we know someone's entire story.

Yet every person carries hidden struggles.

Behind every smile may be an unseen sorrow.

Behind every harsh word may be a wounded heart.

Behind every failure may be a battle no one else can see.

    The world encourages quick judgment.

    Jesus calls us to mercy.

When the woman caught in adultery was brought before Him, everyone was ready to condemn her.

    But Jesus said:

"Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." (John 8:7)

One by one, the accusers walked away.

    Then Jesus said:

"Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin anymore." (John 8:11)

    Jesus did not ignore sin.

But He refused to define a person by her worst moment.

    This is mercy.

Mercy sees the person behind the failure.

    Mercy makes room for healing.

Mercy believes that God's grace can write a new story.

Before judging someone today, pause and ask:

    • Do I know their whole story?

    • Have I listened enough?

    • Am I seeing them through the eyes of Christ?

    Prayer

Lord Jesus, teach us to replace harsh judgments with patience, understanding, and mercy. Help us see others as You see them. Amen.

    Live the Word

Today, when you catch yourself judging someone, stop and pray for that person instead.

    Truth for Today

Understanding often begins where judgment ends.

    Reflection

Who is Jesus inviting you to see with greater mercy today?
