Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.” — Psalm 123:1–2 (KJV). ✝️*Sunday Reflection – Look Up and Wait Upon the Lord* Today, as we celebrate the 10th Sunday after Trinity and the second Sunday in August, Psalm 123 calls us to lift our eyes away from our circumstances and look unto the Lord. The Psalmist describes the attitude of a servant watching the hand of his master. The servant looks with expectation, dependence, and readiness to respond. In the same way, God's children are called to look to Him for direction, provision, mercy, and help. There may be situations that appear beyond our control, but our hope is not in human strength. Our eyes are upon the Lord. When we wait upon Him, we learn to trust His timing, follow His direction, and depend completely on His mercy.
