What You Choose Today Determines Where You Stand Tomorrow! Life is shaped by choices. Every day, consciously or unconsciously, we make decisions that set a direction for our future. Scripture consistently teaches that today’s choices determine tomorrow’s outcomes. God, in His love, grants humanity the power of choice, but He also establishes consequences. This sermon calls us to examine our daily decisions and align them with God’s will, knowing that where we stand tomorrow is largely determined by what we choose. 1. God Has Given Humanity the Power of Choice Deuteronomy 30:19 “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life…” God does not force obedience; He invites it. From the Garden of Eden to the present day, God places choices before people. The responsibility to choose rightly rests with us. Spiritual maturity begins when we accept accountability for our decisions. Lesson: Choice is a gift, but responsibility is the price that comes with it. 2. Every Choice Carries Consequences Galatians 6:7–8 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” No decision is neutral. What we sow today—through words, habits, relationships, and obedience—will produce a harvest tomorrow. Small compromises can lead to major consequences, while small acts of faithfulness can open great doors. Lesson: Tomorrow’s harvest is planted by today’s actions. 3. Daily Choices Shape Character and Destiny Proverbs 4:26 “Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.” Destiny is not determined in a single dramatic moment; it is shaped by consistent daily choices. Character is formed by repeated decisions—choosing integrity over convenience, obedience over comfort, discipline over distraction. Lesson: You do not arrive at destiny by accident; you arrive there by decisions. 4. Choosing God Determines Your Future Standing Joshua 24:15 “…choose you this day whom ye will serve…” Choosing God is not a one-time event; it is a daily commitment. When we choose God’s way, His Word, and His presence, we position ourselves to stand in victory, favor, and purpose tomorrow. Lesson: Who you choose to serve today determines where you will stand tomorrow. 5. Faithfulness in Small Choices Prepares You for Greater Responsibility. Luke 16:10 “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much…” God evaluates our readiness for tomorrow by how we handle today. Faithfulness in small decisions—time management, honesty, prayer, and stewardship—qualifies us for greater opportunities. Lesson: Today’s faithfulness secures tomorrow’s promotion. Conclusion Your future is not a mystery; it is being written daily by your choices. You cannot change yesterday, but you can decide today. When you choose life, obedience, and righteousness today, you secure a better standing tomorrow—spiritually, morally, and eternally. Call to Action -- Examine your current choices honestly. -- Identify areas where compromise has replaced conviction. -- Make a deliberate decision to align your life with God’s Word starting today. Altar Call If you recognize that your past choices have led you away from God, today is an opportunity for change. God is calling you back to Himself. Choose life. Choose Christ. Choose obedience today so you can stand in righteousness tomorrow. Prayer Points Father, give me the grace to make godly choices daily (James 1:5). Lord, deliver me from habits and decisions that lead away from Your will. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, words, and actions every day. Help me to sow seeds today that will produce righteous harvests tomorrow. I choose life, obedience, and purpose in Jesus’ name. Closing Declaration I choose God’s will today.
