  • How Did the Lord Remove the Curse of Death? And Why Do We Still Die and Get Buried?
First: What is the meaning of the word "curse"? According to the words of the Holy Spirit in the divine Scriptures, the curse is what God refuses to grant permanence and multiplication, meaning increase according to the words of the Psalm (109:18). The Lord's resurrection in the body He took from the Virgin Saint Mary, which was glorified by the power of the resurrection, confirms to us that the curse has been lifted, indeed utterly destroyed; because the Lord Jesus promised us the resurrection, so how can we rise if the curse of death remains?
Second: The Lord transformed death, which is the fruit of sin, and renewed it when He changed it from a power of corruption and dissolution into a power that serves the renewal of creation; because the dissolution of the old is a birth of the new. Therefore, we do not die as unbelievers die, but we die in the Lord and rest in the Lord, meaning our death is counted for us as salvation, whereas the death of the wicked is a judgment.
A Christian dies once when he is crucified and buried with Christ. We note that the Apostle did not say that Christ is buried with us, but rather "we were buried with Him." With Him; because He took our nature. With Him; because He is the firstborn and the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep, and we will follow Him. By Him; because He destroyed the power of the grave.
