• Wait for Your Time

One of the greatest tests of faith is waiting. Many people miss God’s best not because they are unqualified, but because they are impatient.

God is a God of order and timing. What He has promised will surely come to pass—but only in His time.

When you run ahead of God, you create trouble; when you lag behind Him, you miss opportunities. But when you walk with Him in patience, you arrive at destiny safely.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 — “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”

    1. GOD OPERATES BY APPOINTED TIMES

God is never late and never early. He works by divine calendars.

Habakkuk 2:3 — “For the vision is yet for an appointed time… though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

Every promise has an appointed time. If you force it before time, it becomes a burden instead of a blessing. Waiting is not denial; it is preparation.

    2. IMPATIENCE HAS DESTROYED MANY DESTINIES

Many people lost divine opportunities because they refused to wait.

Saul lost the kingdom because he could not wait for Samuel (1 Samuel 13:8–14).

Esau lost his birthright because of impatience (Genesis 25:29–34).

Abraham created Ishmael because he did not wait for God’s promise (Genesis 16).

    Impatience turns blessings into battles.

Psalm 37:7 — “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him…”

    3. WAITING BUILDS CHARACTER AND CAPACITY

God uses waiting seasons to build you, not to punish you.

James 1:3–4 — “The trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work…”

    Waiting develops:

    ** Spiritual maturity

    **Discipline

    ** Humility

    ** Wisdom

    ** Endurance

What you cannot handle today, waiting will prepare you to manage tomorrow.

    4. JOSEPH: A MAN WHO WAITED FOR HIS TIME

Joseph had a powerful dream, but not immediate fulfillment.

He waited in the pit (Genesis 37:24)

He waited in Potiphar’s house (Genesis 39)

He waited in the prison (Genesis 40)

    Yet at the appointed time:

Genesis 41:14 — “Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph…”

In one day, waiting turned into lifting. Those who wait for God are never forgotten.

    5. WAITING DOES NOT MEAN LAZINESS

Waiting is active faith, not inactivity.

Galatians 6:9 — “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

    While waiting:

    Keep serving God

    Keep obeying

    Keep growing

    Keep preparing

Those who prepare in secret are celebrated in public.

    6. GOD HONORS THOSE WHO WAIT

Waiting attracts divine strength and renewal.

Isaiah 40:31 — “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength…”

What happens when you wait on God?

    Strength is renewed

    Direction becomes clear

    Doors open without struggle

    Blessings come without sorrow

    CONCLUSION

Your delay is not denial. Your season is coming. If God has spoken, He will perform it.

Do not envy others, do not rush the process, and do not compromise your faith. Wait for your time—because when God’s time arrives, no power can stop it.

Psalm 27:14 — “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”

    CLOSING PRAYER
O Lord, grant me the grace to wait without murmuring, to trust without doubting, and to obey without compromise. Let me not miss my season. I receive strength to wait for Your perfect time, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  • Stuck by the Pool of Bethesda but Attracted Divine Attention

The Pool of Bethesda was a place of waiting—crowded with the sick, the weak, and the disappointed.

It symbolized delayed hope and recurring frustration.

Among the multitude lay a man who had been incapacitated for thirty-eight years—stuck, overlooked, and resigned to his condition.

Yet, in the midst of his stagnation, he attracted divine attention. This sermon reveals that no matter how long one has been stuck, Jesus still sees, still comes, and still restores.

John 5:1–9 (Focus verse: John 5:5–6)

“When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been in that condition a long time, He said to him, ‘Do you want to be made well?’” (John 5:6, NKJV)

    1. You Can Be Surrounded by Hope and Still Be Stuck

“In these lay a great multitude of sick people…” (John 5:3)

The man was in the right place but remained in the wrong condition.

Proximity to spiritual activity does not guarantee transformation. One can attend church, hear sermons, and witness testimonies, yet remain bound if faith and obedience are absent (James 1:22).

-- Do not confuse spiritual exposure with spiritual experience.

    2. Long-Term Affliction Does Not Cancel Divine Compassion

“A certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.” (John 5:5)

    Thirty-eight years suggest prolonged disappointment.

Yet Jesus knew the length of his suffering and still stopped for him.

Time does not weaken God’s power or diminish His concern (Psalm 34:19).

-- Your delay is not a denial. God is aware of how long you have waited.

    3. Jesus Seeks the Stuck and Overlooked

“When Jesus saw him lying there…” (John 5:6)

While others rushed toward the water, Jesus moved toward the man.

Divine attention is not attracted by strength but by need (Isaiah 57:15).

-- When people overlook you, God is often positioning Himself to reveal His glory in your life.

    4. A Question That Confronts the Will

“Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:6)

This question confronts comfort in captivity.

Sometimes people grow accustomed to their condition and fear responsibility after healing.

Jesus addresses desire before delivering power (Mark 10:51).

-- Healing begins when desire aligns with faith.

    5. Excuses Do Not Stop Jesus, but Obedience Releases Power

“Rise, take up your bed and walk.” (John 5:8)

The man offered excuses—no helper, others stepping ahead—but Jesus bypassed the excuses and issued a command.

Healing followed obedience, not explanation (Luke 17:14).

-- Stop explaining your limitations and start obeying God’s instructions.

    6. Grace Can Heal Without the Pool

The man was healed without entering the water. Jesus Himself became the source of healing.

This demonstrates that systems may fail, but Christ never does (Hebrews 13:8).

-- Your breakthrough is not tied to a place, person, or process—Jesus is sufficient.

    Practical Takeaways

** Being stuck is not the end of your story.

** Divine attention can locate you in the crowd.

** Jesus heals beyond systems, seasons, and support.

    ** Obedience activates miracles.

    Altar Call

If you feel stuck—spiritually, emotionally, financially, or physically—this moment is for you.

Jesus is asking, “Do you want to be made well?”

Release your excuses, rise in faith, and receive His restoring power today.

    Closing Prayer

Lord Jesus, You see every life stuck by the pool of delay and disappointment.

As You visited the man at Bethesda, visit us today.

Break cycles of stagnation, heal long-standing afflictions, and restore hope.

By Your word, we rise and walk into our testimony. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
