    CONTEND FOR THE FAITH!

    TEXT: JUDE 1:1–25

    KEY VERSE:

«“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” — Jude 1:3 (KJV)»

The Christian faith is precious, powerful, and worth defending. In his short but powerful letter, Jude warned believers about false teachers and ungodly influences that had entered among God's people.

Jude's message is simple but urgent:

DO NOT GIVE UP THE FAITH!

We live in a world where truth is often questioned, biblical values are increasingly challenged, and many voices compete for our attention.

But the believer is called to remain rooted in God's Word and to earnestly contend for the faith.

    THREE LESSONS FROM JUDE

    CONTEND FOR THE FAITH.

    Jude 1:3 says:

«“...earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”»

To contend for the faith does not mean fighting people. It means standing firmly for the truth of God's Word.

Don't abandon biblical truth because it is unpopular.

Don't compromise your convictions because of pressure.

Don't change God's standards simply because society has changed.

Stand for Christ. Stand for truth. Stand for the Gospel.

    BEWARE OF UNGODLY INFLUENCES.

Jude warned that certain ungodly people had secretly entered among the believers.

Their presence was dangerous because they could influence others away from the truth.

This teaches us that not every teaching, philosophy, lifestyle, or spiritual message should be accepted without examination.

Test what you hear against Scripture.
    🏽 Ask God for discernment.
    Watch the influences around you.
    Protect your relationship with Christ.

Be careful what you allow to shape your thinking.

    BUILD YOURSELF UP SPIRITUALLY.

Jude 1:20–21 gives believers a powerful instruction:

«“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God...”»

    Notice the progression:

    Build yourself on the faith.
🏽 Pray in the Holy Ghost.
    Keep yourself in God's love.
Look for the mercy of Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

A strong Christian life does not happen accidentally.

You must intentionally develop your relationship with God.

    Pray.

    Study the Word.

    Worship.

    Obey God.

    Stay connected to Christ.

    DON'T COMPROMISE YOUR FAITH

The pressure to compromise can come from many directions.

    Friends may pressure you.

    Society may pressure you.

    Relationships may pressure you.

    Entertainment may pressure you.

Even people who claim to know God may pressure you.

    But remember:

Your faith is more valuable than acceptance from people.

Never exchange eternal truth for temporary popularity.

    Never exchange holiness for pleasure.

Never exchange your relationship with Christ for worldly approval.

HAVE MERCY ON THOSE WHO ARE STRUGGLING

Jude does not only tell believers to defend the faith; he also teaches us how to respond to people who are struggling.

    Jude 1:22 says:

«“And of some have compassion, making a difference.”»

There are people who need correction, but they also need compassion.

There are people who have wandered, but they can still be restored.

There are people who are confused, but God can use you to lead them back to truth.

Therefore, stand firmly for truth while showing the love of Christ.

KEEP YOURSELF IN THE LOVE OF GOD

    Jude 1:21 says:

«“Keep yourselves in the love of God...”»

This does not mean that God's love is weak or that we must earn His love.

It is a call to remain in fellowship and obedience to Him.

Don't allow sin to become your lifestyle.

Don't allow bitterness to occupy your heart.

Don't allow worldly desires to take the place of Christ.

    Stay close to Jesus.

GOD IS ABLE TO KEEP YOU

The letter of Jude ends with one of the most beautiful declarations of God's power:

«“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy...” — Jude 1:24»

    What a powerful assurance!

    We are called to contend.

    We are called to watch.

    We are called to pray.

We are called to remain faithful.

But ultimately, God is the One who keeps us. 🏽

When you feel weak, He can strengthen you.

When you are tempted, He can help you.

When you are discouraged, He can restore you.

When you are struggling, He can keep you from falling.

    ✍🏽 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

A believer who knows the value of the Gospel will stand firmly for the truth, walk faithfully with Christ, and never trade eternal truth for temporary approval.

    🏽 PRAYER

    Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the precious gift of salvation and for the faith You have entrusted to us.

Give me grace to earnestly contend for the faith. Help me to recognize false teachings and ungodly influences. Give me spiritual discernment to know what is true and courage to stand for Your Word.

Build me up in my most holy faith. Teach me to pray consistently and keep me in Your love.

Help me to show compassion to those who are struggling and to point them back to Jesus.

Lord, keep me from falling. Preserve my faith, strengthen my walk, and help me remain faithful until the end.

To You be glory, majesty, dominion, and power, both now and forever. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen. 🏽

  • I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.

    Acts 24:16 ɴᴋᴊᴠ

Uprightness, integrity, straight dealing before God and man: these are the essential things without which religious talk, eloquent prayers, and attendance at church or meeting are valueless. It is not that a Christian cannot make mistakes, or fall short of the ideal. If you are looking for faultless men and women, you had better go to the heavenly land right away, for you will never find them here. But if a true Christian blunders, he will instantly own up to it. He never forgets that moral integrity is greater than intellectual eminence. Indeed, Paul reminds us that the possession of outstanding academic gifts, without that love which is the end of the commandment turns a man into a thing that merely makes a noise (1 Cor. 13:1–2). It should be the lifelong aim of every Christian to possess an uncondemning heart and to have a reputation for honest dealings in the affairs of life. If you are an employer, you will delight to give good wages; if you are an employee you will find pleasure in giving good service.

The question has been asked, “Why are most rivers crooked?” And the reply is given, “A river becomes crooked when it follows the line of least resistance.” There will come times in your experience when it will be necessary to say “No,” and there is tremendous power in that little word when it is spoken resolutely and courageously. It has often been like a giant rock by the sea, as it has encountered and hurled back the mighty waves of temptation. Religious freedom is disappearing from the earth; and, even in our own favored lands, the time may come when unbending fidelity will cost us our lives. Should such a privilege be accorded us, pray that we may be brave and stand firm.

    *TEXT:*
    2 TIMOTHY 2:20-22.
20 In a large house there are not only utensils made of gold and silver, but also those made of wood and clay. Some are for special use, while others are for ordinary use. Rom 9:21 [1Ti 3:15]
21 Therefore, if anyone stops associating with these people, he will become a special utensil, set apart for the owner’s use, prepared for every good action.
22 Flee from youthful passions. Instead, pursue righteousness, faithfulness, love, and peace together with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart. 1Ti 6:11 [1Co 1:2] [Heb 12:14]

    *TOPIC:*
    LIVING IN PURITY.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
In this text, Paul uses the metaphor of a great house containing vessels of gold, silver, wood, and clay - some for honourable use, while others for dishonourable use. He urged Timothy to cleanse himself from what is dishonourable so that he may become a vessel fit for a noble purpose. This illustrates the call for believers to separate themselves from sin, false teachings, and unworthy associations, so that they may live in purity and be useful instruments in God's hands. Living in purity involves fleeing youthful passions and actively pursuing righteousness, faith, love, and peace. You must also avoid watching sensual musical videos, obscene movies, music with erotic lyrics, and lust. This requires self-control, which is necessary for anyone who intends to live a life of purity. How is your lifestyle? Evaluate!

    *REFLECTION:*
    God uses pure vessels.

    *PRAYER:*
Lord, help me to live a life of purity. Amen.

    2 TIMOTHY 2:21.
"If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work.

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    JEREMIAH 36-39.

ED.ii. THE DIABOLIC TRINITY IN THE END TIMES

"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." - 1 Peter 5:8

There are three major end time main players who form a diabolical trio. The reason we talk about this is because we all need to know what is to come. Just as God is a Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, there is also a diabolical trinity, namely: the evil one, the antichrist and the false prophet. The Lord God did not leave us in ignorance about what is to happen. These three have different personalities.

    The evil one

There are people who do not believe that the evil one - the first person of this trinity - exists. However, as God exists, there is also an opponent who is now more than ever out to destroy humanity. He is looking for a prey to destroy (see 1 Peter 5:8).

    The antichrist

The second person of the diabolical trinity in this end time is the antichrist. We read about this in Revelation 13:1-8. In the Bible he is called the beast. The antichrist will rise during the last big empire - the restored Roman Empire - from the image of Daniel (see Daniel 2). When the feet of that image become visible, the power will be given to this leader. He will emerge as a diabolical dictator. He will not allow God to be worshiped and will place himself in the temple in Jerusalem.

    The false prophet

In the time of the antichrist, the false prophet will also appear. We read about him in Revelation 13:11-14. He will seduce people by performing miracles and signs. During this time the false prophet will persuade people to believe in the antichrist. When these three appears on stage, a terrible time will come. But Jesus Christ will also return on the clouds to end this period. The evil one, the beast and the false prophet will be thrown into the lake of burning sulfur.

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. ⏤ Psalm 51:10

A holy life will produce the deepest impression. Lighthouses blow no horns; they only shine. ⏤ D.L. Moody

Almighty God, our most holy and eternal Father, whose eyes are too pure to look upon evil—let Your gracious Spirit descend upon us this evening. Grant that no impure thoughts may pollute the souls You have set apart for Yourself, that no unclean words may defile the lips You have consecrated to be organs of Your praise, and that no unholy acts may desecrate the hearts You have chosen as Your temples. Grant that our souls may be kept pure for You, that our lips may speak only for You, and that our hearts may always be worthy of Your presence.

We pray for the spirit of watchfulness, for all around us are evils—subtle, insidious, and determined to lead us into sin. We cannot keep ourselves safe. We cannot guard our hearts against these dangers. Have mercy on us, strong Son of God, who knows all about these powers of sin. Have mercy on us; lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Keep us and grant that we may live in this present world in a way that will not prevent us from experiencing the glories of the world to come, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Bring us safely home to Your heavenly glory.

O Lord, most mighty and most merciful, we commend ourselves to You and to the word of Your grace, which can build us up and give us an inheritance among all who are sanctified. We ask You to keep our souls from sin, our eyes from tears, and our feet from falling, so that we may walk before You in the land of the living. And at the glorious appearing of Your Son, our Lord, may we be presented faultless before Your presence with exceeding joy, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

  • BUILDING STRONG WALLS

As I celebrate another year of God's faithfulness, I don't want to receive only birthday wishes I also want to give a gift. My gift is this simple reflection, prayerfully shared for our growth, encouragement, and edification in Christ.

Life is not ultimately about us. It is about knowing God, reflecting His character, and becoming a blessing to humanity. The quality of our relationship with God is often revealed in the way we treat the people He has placed around us.

    > "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls." Proverbs 25:28

A city without walls is vulnerable. In the same way, our hearts become vulnerable when the walls of godly character are neglected.

    > "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 4:23

    1. Build Strong Walls

Every believer is called to build strong spiritual walls not walls that keep people out, but walls that protect our hearts and preserve God's work in our lives.

Strong walls are built through a daily walk with God and a lifestyle that reflects Christ.

    > "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it." Psalm 127:1

    > "Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong." 1 Corinthians 16:13

    2. Broken Walls Create Open Doors

When our walls are weakened by anger, bitterness, pride, strife, unforgiveness, harsh words, or selfishness, we create opportunities for unnecessary conflicts and temptations.

    > "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil." Ephesians 4:26–27

The enemy looks for opportunities, but he cannot easily gain access where our hearts are guarded by God's truth and love.

    > "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8

    3. Be Spiritually Sensitive

God has already given us powerful tools to protect our walls:

    Joy

    Peace

    Righteousness

    Love

    Kindness

    Humility

    A forgiving heart

    > "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." Romans 14:17

    > "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance." Galatians 5:22–23

When we neglect these gifts, we often blame the devil for battles that began with unguarded hearts. While spiritual warfare is real, many victories begin by allowing the Holy Spirit to shape our character.

    Protect Your Relationships

You cannot genuinely pursue intimacy with God while intentionally neglecting your relationships with people.

    > "If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar." 1 John 4:20

    > "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14

As much as it depends on you, pursue peace.

    > "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men." Romans 12:18

If someone tells you that you have hurt them, don't become defensive immediately. Listen with humility. If an explanation is needed, give it with love. If an apology is needed, offer it sincerely.

Sometimes, "I'm sorry" does not reduce your dignity, it reflects the humility of Christ and helps restore what could have been broken.

    > "With all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one another in love." Ephesians 4:2

    Keep Your Heart Tender

Do not harden your heart or pretend nothing happened when someone lovingly expresses that they have been hurt.

    > "Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts." Hebrews 3:15

Kind words heal. Gentle responses restore. Humility keeps relationships alive.

    > "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." Proverbs 15:1

    > "Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." Proverbs 16:24

Sometimes, your willingness to apologize may become the very testimony that preserves another person's faith and encourages them to keep trusting God.

Let Your Worship Match Your Character

Our prayers, worship, and service become even more beautiful when they are accompanied by love, forgiveness, and reconciliation.

    > "First be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift." Matthew 5:23–24

A heart that is quick to forgive and quick to seek peace shines brightly before God and before people.

    > "Forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Ephesians 4:32

    Remember Your Witness

People may first encounter Jesus through your attitude before they ever hear your message.

Our words may introduce Christ, but our character often confirms Him.

    > "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16

Christianity is not merely about appearing spiritual; it is about allowing the life of Jesus Christ to be seen through us so that God is glorified and people are drawn closer to Him.

    > "He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked." 1 John 2:6

    Walk in Humility

There are moments when we may believe someone has offended us, only to discover that we were actually the ones who caused the hurt.

Humility gives us the courage to examine ourselves honestly. Pride seeks to be justified; love seeks restoration.

    > "God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." James 4:6

    > "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." Philippians 2:3

May we always choose reconciliation over being right, peace over pride, and grace over resentment.

    My Birthday Prayer

As I celebrate another year today, my prayer is not only that God blesses me, but that He helps every one of us build strong walls of love, humility, peace, righteousness, joy, and Christlike character.

May our lives become safe places where God is honored and people experience His love through us.

    > "Now the God of peace... make you perfect in every good work to do his will." Hebrews 13:20–21

    > "And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness." Colossians 3:14

Thank you for being part of my journey.

May Christ continue to build us into people whose lives point others to Him.

    > "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy." Jude 24

Happy Birthday to me, and may this new season be one of deeper love for God and greater compassion for humanity.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you all. AmenMY BIRTHDAY GIFT TO YOU

    BUILDING STRONG WALLS

Today, as I celebrate another year of God's faithfulness, I don't want to receive only birthday wishes I also want to give a gift.

May this new season be one of deeper love for God and greater compassion for humanity.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you all.

    > "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14

May this new season be one of deeper love for God and greater compassion for humanity.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you all. Amen.

BUILDING STRONG WALLS As I celebrate another year of God's faithfulness, I don't want to receive only birthday wishes I also want to give a gift. > "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls." Proverbs 25:28 A city without walls is vulnerable. In the same way, our hearts become vulnerable when the walls of godly character are neglected. > "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 4:23 1. Build Strong Walls Every believer is called to build strong spiritual walls not walls that keep people out, but walls that protect our hearts and preserve God's work in our lives. Strong walls are built through a daily walk with God and a lifestyle that reflects Christ. > "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it." Psalm 127:1 > "Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong." 1 Corinthians 16:13 2. Broken Walls Create Open Doors When our walls are weakened by anger, bitterness, pride, strife, unforgiveness, harsh words, or selfishness, we create opportunities for unnecessary conflicts and temptations. > "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil." Ephesians 4:26–27 The enemy looks for opportunities, but he cannot easily gain access where our hearts are guarded by God's truth and love. > "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8 3. Be Spiritually Sensitive God has already given us powerful tools to protect our walls: Joy Peace Righteousness Love Kindness Humility A forgiving heart > "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." Romans 14:17 > "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance." Galatians 5:22–23 When we neglect these gifts, we often blame the devil for battles that began with unguarded hearts. While spiritual warfare is real, many victories begin by allowing the Holy Spirit to shape our character. Protect Your Relationships You cannot genuinely pursue intimacy with God while intentionally neglecting your relationships with people. > "If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar." 1 John 4:20 > "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14 As much as it depends on you, pursue peace. > "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men." Romans 12:18 If someone tells you that you have hurt them, don't become defensive immediately. Listen with humility. If an explanation is needed, give it with love. If an apology is needed, offer it sincerely. Sometimes, "I'm sorry" does not reduce your dignity, it reflects the humility of Christ and helps restore what could have been broken. > "With all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one another in love." Ephesians 4:2 Keep Your Heart Tender Do not harden your heart or pretend nothing happened when someone lovingly expresses that they have been hurt. > "Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts." Hebrews 3:15 Kind words heal. Gentle responses restore. Humility keeps relationships alive. > "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." Proverbs 15:1 > "Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." Proverbs 16:24 Sometimes, your willingness to apologize may become the very testimony that preserves another person's faith and encourages them to keep trusting God. Let Your Worship Match Your Character Our prayers, worship, and service become even more beautiful when they are accompanied by love, forgiveness, and reconciliation. > "First be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift." Matthew 5:23–24 A heart that is quick to forgive and quick to seek peace shines brightly before God and before people. > "Forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Ephesians 4:32 Remember Your Witness People may first encounter Jesus through your attitude before they ever hear your message. Our words may introduce Christ, but our character often confirms Him. > "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16 Christianity is not merely about appearing spiritual; it is about allowing the life of Jesus Christ to be seen through us so that God is glorified and people are drawn closer to Him. > "He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked." 1 John 2:6 Walk in Humility There are moments when we may believe someone has offended us, only to discover that we were actually the ones who caused the hurt. Humility gives us the courage to examine ourselves honestly. Pride seeks to be justified; love seeks restoration. > "God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." James 4:6 > "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." Philippians 2:3 May we always choose reconciliation over being right, peace over pride, and grace over resentment.

Matthew 5:23–24 A heart that is quick to forgive and quick to seek peace shines brightly before God and before people. My Birthday Prayer As I celebrate another year today, my prayer is not only that God blesses me, but that He helps every one of us build strong walls of love, humility, peace, righteousness, joy, and Christlike character. May our lives become safe places where God is honored and people experience His love through us. > "Now the God of peace... make you perfect in every good work to do his will." Hebrews 13:20–21 > "And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness." Colossians 3:14 Thank you for being part of my journey. May Christ continue to build us into people whose lives point others to Him. > "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy." Jude 24 Happy Birthday to me, and may this new season be one of deeper love for God and greater compassion for humanity. Grace and peace be multiplied to you all.

Romans 12:18 If someone tells you that you have hurt them, don't become defensive immediately. > "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy." Jude 24 May this new season be one of deeper love for God and greater compassion for humanity. Grace and peace be multiplied to you all. Amen. Bishop Arnold
