#Day 5 Series on the Coming Down of the Holy Spirit THE TRANSFORMING FIRE "They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them." — Acts 2:3 The disciples were experiencing something they had never experienced before. Their waiting had culminated in the day when fire descended from heaven and rested on each of them like tongues of fire. Fire purifies, illuminates, transforms. It is not a decorative symbol to make things look pretty. Fire is a consuming reality that sets things ablaze and consumes them. In the Old Testament, fire descended upon objects—bushes, stone altars, and so on. But now, it is humanity that becomes the altar. The fire now descends upon people to set them ablaze for God. The Holy Spirit does not come to beautify your life. He comes to consume it for God. So let the fire descend upon you, let it engulf you, let it make your life a sanctified and purified sanctuary, a sign of true transformation. May your prayer be that of David Brainerd, who said: "Oh, that I may be a flame of fire in the service of God." #FireOfTheSpirit🙏🏼 #SpiritAndLife🔥
