  • Your Addiction !

    Romans 6:16 — “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”

    Addiction is more than a habit
    — it’s a bondage. It’s a spiritual chain that keeps a man enslaved to what he knows is harmful but cannot stop.

    Addiction may come in different forms — drugs, alcohol, pornography, gossip, greed, food, social media, or even anger.

    But behind every addiction is a spiritual stronghold that wants to control your will and destroy your destiny.

    The devil’s goal through addiction is to distract you from God, drain your spiritual strength, and destroy your purpose.

    Addiction Begins with a Desire
    James 1:14-15 — “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin...”

    Addiction starts small. A thought. A trial. A curiosity. Then it grows into a craving and finally becomes a controlling power.

    The devil never introduces sin as bondage — he presents it as pleasure, but the end is captivity.

    What you entertain today may enslave you tomorrow.

    Addiction is Spiritual Slavery
    John 8:34 — “Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.”

    When you’re addicted, you no longer control the habit — it controls you.

    It dictates when you act, how you think, and what you desire.
    It replaces the voice of the Holy Spirit with the voice of desire.

    Addiction dethrones God from your heart and enthrones sin in His place.

    Addiction Destroys Relationships and Purpose
    Samson’s addiction to pleasure led to his downfall (Judges 16:4–21).
    His eyes were taken out because he allowed his eyes to lead him astray.

    Addiction blinds — it blinds you from seeing your future, your family, and your calling.
    Many great destinies have been trapped by hidden habits.

    What you refuse to conquer will eventually conquer you.

    God Can Break Every Addiction
    Romans 6:14 — “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”

    The good news is this: there is deliverance in Christ!
    Jesus came not only to forgive sin but also to break the power of sin.
    Through the Holy Spirit, you can say NO to the cravings that once enslaved you.

    Grace doesn’t excuse sin — it empowers you to overcome it.

    Steps to Overcome Addiction

    * Acknowledge It – Proverbs 28:13 — “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper…”
    Admit your struggle before God; freedom begins with truth.

    * Confess and Repent – 1 John 1:9
    Confession brings healing; repentance brings restoration.

    * Depend on the Holy Spirit – Galatians 5:16
    “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

    * Renew Your Mind – Romans 12:2
    Replace wrong thoughts with the Word of God.

    * Disconnect from Triggers – Matthew 5:29–30
    Cut off anything or anyone that feeds your addiction.

    * Seek Godly Support – James 5:16
    Fellowship with believers who can pray and strengthen you.

    Beloved, your addiction does not define you — Christ does.
    You may have failed many times, but today, God is saying,

    “My grace is sufficient for you.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

    You can be free! The same power that raised Jesus from the dead can raise you above your bondage.

    Walk in freedom today — let Jesus take over your desires, and you will see transformation from within.

    Pray This Prayer

    - Lord, deliver me from every secret addiction in my life (Psalm 51:10).

    - Holy Spirit, break every yoke of sin that controls my will (Isaiah 10:27).

    - Lord, give me strength to say no to ungodly desires (Titus 2:12).

    - I disconnect myself from every environment that feeds addiction.

    - Let your grace rule over my mind and body, O Lord.

    - Lord, renew my thoughts with your Word daily.

    - Every hidden power behind my addiction, be destroyed by fire.

    - Lord, fill me with a fresh hunger for righteousness.

    - Holy Spirit, help me to walk in victory each day.

    - Thank You, Lord, for my complete deliverance in Christ Jesus!
