• On the Essence of Love and Acceptance – "Out of the Prison of Merit"
The greatest delusion the enemy plants in our lives is the "concept of merit": that we must be "virtuous" to earn God’s love. This thought turns the relationship with God into a business transaction: "I obey You, so You love me."
But the Gospel flips the equation entirely. "God loved us first," and before we changed ourselves, He accepted us in His Son.
He did not wait for us to be worthy. He loved us in the midst of our weakness.
Holiness is not a "price" we pay to purchase God's satisfaction. Holiness is the "fruit" of His love that changed our hearts.
Christ said: "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick." Come as you are. Broken, sinful, weary. He will not reject you. The physician does not need the healthy. Your sins are not a barrier between you and God – they are a cry for help that opens the door to His mercy.
"For God so loved the world..." (John 3:16)
Do you struggle with the idea that you are "not good enough" to be loved by God? Write "I am accepted" in the comment as a reminder to yourself today.
