• WHEN YOUR SOUL IS DOWNCAST... DON'T GIVE UP!

There are days when your heart feels heavy, your strength is gone, and nothing seems to make sense. But remember this: your current season is not your final destination.

God has not forgotten you. The delay is not denial. The pain is not permanent. Every storm has an expiration date, and every night eventually gives way to the morning.

Don't allow today's struggle to steal tomorrow's victory. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep trusting. The God who brought you this far will not abandon you now.

"Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God." — Psalm 42:11

Hold on. Your breakthrough is coming. Your joy will return. Your testimony is being written.

Hope in God. Rise again. Your best days are still ahead.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Seriously, I’m just getting truth after truth in the Word of God in 2 Samuel chapter 12. Earlier, I wrote about verse 23 and how it speaks to Bible obedience. Then verse 24 struck me, reminding us that our security and salvation in Jesus Christ are not based on performance it’s set in stone. But then verse 25 wow! Another layer of truth unfolds. It says that David comforted Bathsheba, his wife, and slept with her. She became pregnant and gave birth to a son, and they named him Solomon. We all know Solomon the great king, the wisest man to ever live. But then it says, the Lord loved the child and sent word through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedidiah, which means “Beloved of the Lord.”

And just like that, the story moves on. No big spotlight on this name Jedidiah just a divine whisper tucked between the verses. And I found myself wondering, was his name Solomon or Jedidiah? What does that even mean? Here’s what hit me so powerfully. Solomon was the name given by David and Bathsheba, but God Himself sent word to call him Jedidiah. And even though they didn’t use the name publicly, it was the name that came straight from the heart of God.

    And that’s grace.

It’s forgiveness. It’s favor. It’s the Father’s love reaching into a broken situation right after David’s failure, his sin, and all the pain that came from it. God still speaks a new identity over what’s been born in the ashes. He still names what He loves. Solomon may have been the name everyone else knew. But Jedidiah was the name God whispered. A name that carried God’s personal love and redemptive purpose. And that’s what makes it so powerful. Because Jedidiah reminds us that our identity is not found in what the world calls us, but in what God calls us.
Even after failure. Even after loss. Even when we feel like we’ve blown it, God can still bring forth something deeply loved, something full of purpose. So yes, you may be known by one name in the eyes of people, but heaven may know you by another. One marked by grace. One born in mercy. One sealed in love. Amen! Jesus is King!
