Before Christ, we were far from Him. But through the cross, we have been brought near, not as strangers but as sons and daughters. This reconciliation is not just a religious truth; it is a source of deep, lasting joy. We rejoice because we no longer stand condemned. The barrier of sin has been broken, and peace now flows freely between God and us. Paul says, “we rejoice in God.” This joy is different from happiness that depends on circumstances.
