• HOW TO KNOW GOD'S WILL FOR IMPORTANT DECISIONS IN YOUR LIFE. Part 6 of 6.
How God Makes Known His Will for Specific Decisions and Needs. Continued.
In both instances, what we experience by-passes the mind or intellect. Both the witness within our spirits, and the inner voice of the Holy Spirit may at times go contrary to our personal feelings and emotions" regarding some matter but we will know, nevertheless, what God's will is concerning the situation and what we should do. Feelings and emotions can deceive or confuse us if we rely entirely upon them, for this is the realm in which both Satan and the intellect reign; whereas the enlightened spirit of a Christian, and the voice of God's Spirit within will always guide us correctly if we will listen to them (Jn. 16:13) 1 Cor. 2:10-16; 1 Jn. 2:27).

Of course, usually what we feel about a situation will be in harmony with what we are inwardly impressed to do, but it is not our feelings or emotions through which God's will is imparted to us.
Inasmuch as God frequently desires to alert us to some spiritual or physical danger, prepare us with regarding some event that is about to occur, or inform us concerning His will about some present or future matter, then it is imperative that we become sensitive to the inner voice of the Spirit if we are to hear Him when He speaks.

It is a real blessing to be so sensitive to the Spirit's voice that you know when you are moving in the will of God. Being yielded to the Spirit is the secret of being "fruitful in every good work."
When we are fully yielded to Him, and sensitive to His voice, then we can always move with Him, fulfilling God's will, and we will not have to waste time planning and scheming, or running all over the place hoping that we are doing God's will and fulfilling His purpose.

    By Prophecy
Occasionally God will inform us of His will regarding some matter, or concerning some problem about which we are praying, through prophecy or the ministry gift of the prophet. Generally, this will be a confirmation of what He has already been speaking inwardly to us about, and not the giving of guidance by prophecy as such.

It cannot be overemphasized that it is God's purpose to lead the Christian inwardly by His Spirit or the inward witness (Rom. 8:14; 1 Cor. 2:14-16). Christians are not to seek guidance through prophecy or visions, inasmuch as some people have been misdirected or led astray, sometimes with serious consequences, on the basis of an alleged prophecy or revelation given to them by some overzealous individual who felt that he (or she) had an anointing to "prophesy" to them. In one case a minister who was sure that he had been led of the Spirit to leave a certain church to minister in another place was then prophesied to by a self-appointed prophetess and told that the Lord wanted him to return to the former church which he had recently left.

This left him thoroughly confused as to what he was supposed to do, not knowing which of the two conflicting "revelations" was from the Lord. In two other instances, certain individuals who were seeking guidance were informed by overzealous Christians with an "anointing" that they were to move to a certain city and state as this was God's will for them. In neither case was the guidance from the Lord. Some Christians have actually been appointed to some office such as prophet, teacher, elder, or evangelist, and some Christian groups have been set in "divine order" by misguided individuals who interpret emotional feeling, spiritual enthusiasm, or actual delusion by Satan, as an anointing to prophesy. In other instances, a genuine anointing to speak in tongues or to minister the simple gift of prophecy to the church for "edification, and exhortation, and comfort" (1 Cor. 14:3) was misdirected to some particular individual and ended up as personal guidance coming forth from their own spirits instead of the Holy Spirit.

In another instance, a woman "prophesied" to the leader of a group that it was time to discontinue teaching them, as God wanted them to begin to stand on their own feet without teaching. Shortly after his ministry was terminated, the leader of the group realized the mistake and contacted him three times wanting to know if he thought the prophecy had been genuine, inasmuch as it was obvious to all that they had not reached such a place of spiritual maturity where they no longer needed Biblical teaching.

Christians should not seek guidance by prophecy or visions. We have reference here only to the attempt to seek or give guidance by means of personal prophecy or revelation through some over zealous individual, not to prophecy and visions in general which God does give to His Church for edification, exhortation, and comfort (1 Cor.14:3; Joel 2:28-29). Occasionally, God Himself chooses to speak to us through prophecy and vision in order to lead us, but in every case it will be in harmony with His Word, and it will authenticated by the fact that it is usually a confirmation of what the Spirit has already shown to us personally. Also, occasionally, prophecy becomes the means by which God leads us in order to fulfill His will about some important matter.

    By Scriptural Teaching;
One of the most important channels through which God desires to speak to His people and reveal His will to them is one that few people recognize and appreciate as they should, and that is through the ministry of biblical teaching.

Frequently, in a meeting people will come and ask for an appointment for spiritual counseling concerning some question or problem confronting them. Instead, they should first plan to attend all the teaching sessions, inasmuch as God has sent this ministry into their midst at this time to help solve such problems as this for which they feel they need counseling, and that He often gives the necessary guidance through the teaching.

On several occasions people who have taken such advice have come afterward and stated that they no longer were in need of counseling as God had given them the answers they needed through the teaching ministry. Certainly God knows the various problems and needs of His people, and that it would be impossible for any one minister to deal with everyone individually who requests counseling and help. Therefore, through the teaching ministry He provides the solution for those who are willing to pay the cost of sacrificing some of their time and interest in other things to avail themselves of it. Sadly, there are some individuals who will not do this. They will insist that you give them individual attention and special time, as they believe that their problems are of such a nature to warrant it, but at the same time they will not avail themselves of the ministry God has sent into their midst to help them.

It is useless to expect God to give you special guidance and revelation about some matter when you do not avail yourself of the biblical ministry that He is sending into your locality for precisely this purpose. Your problems and the decisions you must make are not really much different from those of most other Christians. It is only because they affect you personally that you think this. And even if your problems were unusually different, nevertheless, there are certain spiritual principles set forth in God's Word which can be brought forth through teaching which will show you how to deal with your situation and what your responsibility is with regard to it. We have found this to be true time and again. For example, some faith principle which can be applied for healing a disease can also be used to solve a financial or marital problem, if you know what it is and how to apply it. But one must be willing to avail himself of the teaching ministry and literature available in order to learn these truths, for "faith cometh by hearing the Word" (Rom. 10:17).

For instance, such passages as Matthew 18:19, Mark 11:22-24; John 14:14; 1 John 5:14-15; Philippians 4:19, and Psalm 37:4 have almost limitless potential for fulfilling practically any need
of every description when the believer knows how to apply them and accepts their validity for today. For the thousands who accept the responsibility of learning how to live and walk by
faith themselves, they discover that they are able, not only to help themselves, but also liberate others from their problems and oppression. God desires for us to mature to the place where we do not constantly need to be ministered to, but can minister to others and their needs.

    Through Circumstances;
Sometimes God confirms His will to us through circumstances, controlling or changing events in such a way that we are able to recognize His providential hand at work to fulfill His purpose
    in our lives.

God informed Abraham that his descendants would spend 400 years in Egypt before He would bring them forth to inherit the Promised Land (Gen. 15). At the time God told him this, Abraham did not have a single descendant, for as yet Isaac had not been born. From this time, we see God beginning to bring His will for Israel to pass through the providential control of circumstances and events. Twenty-five years later Isaac is born by a miracle to Sarah, who is barren. His son Jacob in turn has twelve sons, one of whom is Joseph, his favorite.

Because of envy his brothers sell him into slavery into Egypt, which begins a new phase of the fulfillment of God's plan to get Abraham's descendants into Egypt, a famine later compelling Jacob and all of his descendants to migrate there to live. After several years of hardship and adversity, Joseph had been miraculously elevated to a high position in Egypt by Pharaoh, a divine foresight to prepare the way for the Israelites. Thus, their arrival in Egypt was no accident, nor were they merely victims of circumstances, but we are clearly shown the providential control of God throughout, a fact which Joseph himself discerned (Gen. 50:20).

The fulfillment of God's plan for our lives often depends, to some degree at least, upon our awareness of His providential working and controlling our daily affairs and experiences.
As stated previously, God's plan for your life did not begin when you were born or when you were converted, but the Scriptures declare that the believer was chosen in Christ before the
foundation of the world and called to fulfill His glorious plan and purpose (Rom. 8:28-30, Eph. 1:3-6), Moreover, God has often been working in the circumstances of your life for months or years before He reveals some aspect of His purpose to you. We are not to seek guidance by asking God to reveal His will to us through outward circumstances generally, but as we pray for His leading, usually He will impress upon us what course of action to take. Frequently, He will then confirm this inward leading through circumstances and events in our lives, which, if we are spiritually observant enough, can be discerned.

    CONCLUSION.
We do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge
of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Col. 1:9) The Apostle prays.
It is not sufficient just to have a knowledge of God's will, but as the quotation above indicates, we must also have spiritual wisdom and understanding to be able to apply it and profit from it. Wisdom is the ability to use knowledge correctly and effectively. Solomon knew God's will for his life - he was chosen to be the King of Israel. But he was also aware that if he was to succeed in this task and fulfill God's will as he should, then he would need more than mere human wisdom and the limited understanding man acquires through study and by experience so he prayed for the impartation of divine wisdom, discernment, and understanding.

Thus, it is one thing to know God's will; it is another to have the wisdom and understanding to apply it. A man may know a very great deal, and yet not be a wise man. Occasionally, for example, we see a student who graduates from college with a high academic standing sometimes fail completely in some career or profession which he has chosen, simply because he lacks the wisdom to apply his knowledge in a practical way to his life.

A wise Christian, therefore, is not just one who knows His Lord's will, but he is one who also understands how to use this knowledge in the proper place, in the proper way, and at the
proper time. For instance, every believer knows, on the basis of Jesus' clear teaching in John 15, that the Christian is called to "bear fruit." But the mere possession of the knowledge of this fact does not impart to the believer the wisdom to accomplish it, for the churches are literally exhausting themselves in all manner of religious programs and activities in an effort to accomplish God's will in this regard, without any significant achievement.

It is one thing for the Christian to know that he has been called to bear fruit, but only the Holy Spirit can reveal to him the understanding that it is not in doing, but in dying that we bear fruit (Jn. 12:24). Paul's prayer is that "you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding ... being fruitful in every good work" (Col. 1:9-10), revealing, thereby, that fruitfulness does not lie merely in knowing God's will, but also in possessing the spiritual wisdom and understanding to apply it. As was shown earlier, fruitfulness is not merely religious activity, such as serving in two or three offices in the church, visiting as many homes as possible in the
community to invite people to church, giving out tracts, busyness with churchwork, attending all the services, reading the Bible through at least once a year, and so on. Fruitfulness does not come by religious commotion, but through crucifixion; not by doing, but by dying. God calls no one to work for Him, but to learn to move with Him. This truth is not something one can discern with reason or intellect, but comes as a result of the impartation of divine wisdom and understanding to those who ask for it, "For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding" (Prov. 2:6 ).

Again, it is one thing to know that the believer is called to experience a measure of trials and tests of his faith (1 Pet. 2:19f; Jam. 1:2-4), but human wisdom will never help him to see the eternal purpose in those trials, nor enable him to respond in such a way that he will profit and not lose by such sufferings and testing. It requires divine wisdom and understanding to meet temptations, and to bear trials, so that such testing, instead of depressing and defeating the believer, will be able to accomplish God's will and purpose in his life. It requires divine understanding for him to see that Romans 8:28 is valid for him in time of trial and adversity, as well as in time of prosperity and blessing.

Thus, when you seek a knowledge of God's will for your life, and for making decisions in important matters, also ask Him for wisdom and spiritual understanding to apply the knowledge He imparts to you, for the Scriptures tell us–
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding (Prov. 4:7). Amen and amen! Edited. Shared.

  • Return to God and be Uplifted!
Repentance brings a change of attitude concerning God. The sinner naturally vilifies God. Even when he speaks of His love, he has no conception of God’s justice and wrath. True repentance brings a sense of the Holy God who cannot look upon sin. It impacts a change of mind concerning sin itself upon a person.
The unrepentant delight in sin. A child of God may be tempted to sin and even fall into sin, but his bosom aches when he does so. A true child of God who has repented cannot enjoy sin and continuously longs for deliverance. Before every child of God, there is a vision both of what he is and what he ought to be. He cries with the poet; “O that a man might arise in me that I might ease to be.”
Repentance gives the sinners a change of mind concerning him. Before our salvation, we all had a good opinion of ourselves. Like the Pharisees, we often thanked God that, “we were not as other men, extortionist, unjust, adulterers, or even as the publican" (Luke 18:11). But, every one that exalts himself shall be abased, and he that humbles himself shall be exalted (Verse 14). Where there is true repentance, though, men often despair of themselves, and like the publication, their cry is, “God be merciful to me a sinner”. They echo Paul’s exasperated plea: “O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death" (Romans 7:24). For Christ came not to call the righteousness, but sinners to repentance (Luke 5:32).
Repentance affects the motions and will, and also creates a change of feeling. We must beware here lest we are deceived. The old time evangelist who specialized in death-bed stories often created mere human emotion filling the mourners' bench with weeping people. These mourners often had a remorse for their evil doings, deeply regretting they had not been better men and women when they were told about meeting their “mother” in heaven. But remorse in not repentance, though I must say remorse is a very common experience for those who commit sin. Someone has called remorse the “echo of lost virtue”.
Remorse is the attitude of mind and heart for some evil done. Repentance, however, goes deeper. Repentance creates a sorrow for what we are rather that remorse for what we have done. Therefore says the Hebrews writer, “Leaving the principles of the doctrines of Christ (Messiah), let us go into perfection by not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works” (Hebrews 6:1).
Christian repentance is not merely the pangs of an injured conscience. Christian repentance follows the Holy Spirit’s convicting work deep within our soul (John 16:7 and 8). It lays strong hold upon the human will and brings the sinners into conformity with the will of God. It is heeding God’s call from a life of destruction (Mark 1:15). Repentance does not mean merely shedding tears over our wrong doings. It ends in faith in Christ, the Saviour. The Church must preach and teach until these conditions are obtained in the ministries. Then our revival shall have come. For this is the will of God for all mankind (Acts 17:30).
Today what the Church and the continents at large need is repentance. The call of the pulpit to the pew must be repentance. And that of the crusades to the nations must similarly be repentance, and this must eventuate in confession of sins. The scripture, therefore, tells us: “Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have transgressed against the Lord your God” (Jeremiah3:13).That will move our God to come down and heal our many wounds. We are reminded that, “The Lord’s hands is not shortened, that it cannot save neither is His ear heavy that it cannot hear, but your iniquity have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear” (Isaiah59:1 and 2). He that covers his sins shall not prosper, but whoso confess and forsake them shall have mercy (Proverbs 28:13). “For as many as the Lord loves, He rebukes and chastens; be zealous therefore and repent!” (Revelation 3:19).
The repentance must not only be among the lowly citizens but must spring from the governors trickling to the governed. “Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man which built his house upon a rock. And everyone that hears these sayings of mine and does them not shall be likened to a foolish man which built his house upon the sand,” declares the Lord Jesus Christ (Mathew 7:24 and 26).
Almighty God is calling to the people today as He did to former Israel that, “Therefore also now, says the Lord, Turn even to me with all your heart and with fasting and with weeping and with mourning. And rend your heart and not your garments, and turn to the Lord your God. For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repent Him of the evil. Who knows if He will return and leave a blessing behind Him, even a meat offering and drink offering unto the Lord your God? Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly; gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts; let the bride-groom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord weep between the porch and the altar and let them say: Spare your people O Lord and give not your heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them; wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? Then the Lord will be so jealous for His land and pity His people. Yes the Lord will answer and say unto His people, Behold I will send you corn, and wine and oil, and you shall be satisfied therewith; and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen but I will remove far off from you northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face towards the east sea and his hinder part towards the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up and his savor shall come up because he has done great things. Fear not O land; be glad and rejoice; for the Lord will do great things. And I will restore to you the years that locusts has eaten, the cankerworm and the caterpillar and the palmerworm my great army which I sent among you. And you shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that has dealt wondrously with you, and my people shall never be ashamed" (Joel 2:12-21: 25 and 26).
The Lord’s northern army is the destruction God brings upon a people as a result of their wickedness. Indeed righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 13:34). For the Lord God of Israel, the Creator of the heavens and the earth loves righteousness and judgement (Psalm 33:5). He stresses that judgement is his strange work (Isaiah 28:21). The reason being that when his judgements are on the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness (Isaiah 26:9). When a nation leaves wickedness and turns to the Lord, such a people receive pardon and sure favour from the Lord God Almighty. The psalmist thus wrote: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord and the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance” (Psalms 33:12).
The Lord delights in the humility of a people. This makes Him hear our plea and smile back at us with a pardon. And this humility must start in His sanctuary. He says: “If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). Therefore every Christian by and far, let us rally in repentance for the healing of our lands. For repentance turns away God’s wrath.
Nineveh found itself in a similar situation many African nations are in today. Plagued with wickedness in diverse places and faced with imminent judgment, the Almighty God used Jonah to deliver a message of judgment to the people of Nineveh: “Surely the Lord God will do nothing but He reveals His secrets to His servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7). Unlike most of our folks who hear and turn the head the other way, the Ninevehs believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest-including the king-to the least of them. And God saw their works that they turned from their evil way, and God repented them of the evil that he had said He would bring upon them, and He did it not (Jonah 3).
Repentance touches the core of God’s heart. Humble yourself and return to the Lord your Creator. Repentance automatically brings healing. The Lord says, “Wash you, and make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes, cease to do evil. Learn to do well, seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, and judge the fatherless plead for the widow. Come now and let us reason together; though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow: though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:16-19).
The Living God is the healer of nations. The psalmist has declared of Him: “God be merciful to us, and cause His face to shine upon us. That your way may be known upon the earth, your saving health among all nations” (Psalm 67:1 and 2). Perhaps this ought to be the prayer on everyone’s lips now.
Stay awake O Christian in the truth!
The good LORD has always extended this gracious invitation to man over the millennia. And, therefore, if it is your desire to know Him as He truly is - the Lord of lords and King of kings, the Savior, and Redeemer of mankind, then pray this prayer of repentance unto salvation: “Lord Jesus Christ, I come to you with all the sins I have committed and I beg you to forgive me. I confess that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. Please cleanse my body, soul, and spirit with your precious blood. I need your help Lord, and I ask you to come and live in my heart. I want to serve you, obey your commands and do what is right. I want to live for you every day, please lead and guide me by your Spirit into righteousness. Thank you, O Lord for hearing and answering my prayer. Amen!”
Welcome now to this grand and mighty army of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on earth. Read the Bible often, and join a congregation near you where Christ Jesus is preached and the Almighty Godhead: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, is worshiped in Spirit and in Truth for your own spiritual growth and strength.
The Almighty God make you the apple of His eyes as I solemnly declare of Him: “After He has honored me and has sent me against the nations that have plundered you - for whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye - I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them” (Zachariah 2:8). The peace and love of Christ Jesus the Lord be with you now and forever.
Return to God and be Uplifted! He cries with the poet; “O that a man might arise in me that I might ease to be.” Repentance gives the sinners a change of mind concerning him. • Acts 22:

"1 Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you.
2 (And when they heard that he spake in the Hebrew tongue to them, they kept the more silence: and he saith,)
3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.
4 And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
5 As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.
6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
10 And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.
11 And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.
12 And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,
13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.
14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
    17 And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;
18 And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:
20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.
21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.
22 And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.
23 And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,
24 The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.
25 And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?
26 When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.
27 Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.
28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.
29 Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.
30 On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them."

    2 Kings 9

God’s Judgment and the Certainty of His Word

2 Kings 9 marks a decisive turning point in Israel's history as God begins carrying out the judgment He had previously announced through Elijah. Elisha sends one of the sons of the prophets to anoint Jehu as king over Israel. This private act of anointing is more than a political transition—it is the beginning of God's righteous judgment against the house of Ahab for years of idolatry, injustice, and rebellion.

Jehu immediately responds to God's calling with decisive action. The military leaders quickly recognize God's hand upon him and proclaim him king. What follows is not merely a change in leadership but the fulfillment of God's prophetic Word. Every event unfolds exactly as the Lord had declared years earlier.
Jehu confronts King Joram and later King Ahaziah. Both kings experience the consequences of the spiritual corruption that had spread through Ahab's household. The narrative demonstrates that while God is patient, His warnings should never be mistaken for indifference. His judgment may be delayed, but it is always certain when people continually refuse to repent.

The chapter reaches its climax with the death of Jezebel. For years she had promoted Baal worship, persecuted God's prophets, and manipulated justice for personal gain. Her end fulfills Elijah's prophecy in remarkable detail, proving once again that God's Word never fails. Human power, influence, and wealth cannot prevent the accomplishment of God's purposes.

Throughout these dramatic events, the emphasis remains on God's faithfulness rather than Jehu's military ability. The Lord is bringing history into alignment with His covenant justice. He alone determines the rise and fall of kings.

Theologically, 2 Kings 9 reveals both God's patience and His justice. He gives repeated opportunities for repentance, but persistent rebellion eventually brings judgment. The chapter also demonstrates that every prophecy spoken by God will be fulfilled exactly as He has declared.

This chapter points to Christ, who will one day return as the righteous King and Judge. Unlike Jehu, whose mission was limited and imperfect, Jesus will establish perfect justice throughout the earth. His judgment will be completely righteous, and His kingdom will never end.

For believers today, 2 Kings 9 reminds us that God takes sin seriously while remaining perfectly faithful to His Word. We should never presume upon His patience or delay obedience because judgment seems distant. In Christ, we have received mercy through the cross, and we are called to live in faithful obedience, knowing that our righteous King will ultimately establish perfect justice.

    2 Kings 10

    Zeal Without Wholehearted Obedience

2 Kings 10 continues Jehu's mission to remove the house of Ahab and eliminate Baal worship from Israel. The chapter begins with Jehu carrying out God's judgment against Ahab's descendants. Though these events are difficult to read, they demonstrate the seriousness of God's earlier warnings. What He had spoken through His prophets is now fulfilled completely.

Jehu also confronts those who remained loyal to Ahab's family, bringing an end to their influence. The chapter repeatedly emphasizes that God's Word through Elijah has come to pass. The Lord proves once again that His promises and His warnings are equally certain.

One of Jehu's most significant actions is his destruction of the temple of Baal. Through careful planning, he gathers the worshipers of Baal into one place and removes this center of idolatry from Israel. In doing so, Jehu accomplishes an important aspect of the task God had given him. His zeal for eliminating Baal worship appears commendable and demonstrates courage in confronting open rebellion against the Lord.

Yet the chapter also reveals a serious weakness in Jehu's heart. Although he removes Baal worship, he refuses to abandon the golden calves established by Jeroboam. He eliminates one form of idolatry while tolerating another. His obedience is partial rather than complete.

This becomes the defining lesson of Jehu's reign. God commends him for carrying out His judgment against Ahab, yet the nation does not experience lasting spiritual renewal because Jehu himself never fully follows the Lord with all his heart. Outward reform without inward devotion cannot produce lasting transformation.

As a result, the chapter concludes with Israel beginning to experience military losses. The nation continues to decline because true revival requires more than removing outward sin—it requires wholehearted love for God.

Theologically, 2 Kings 10 teaches that partial obedience is not the same as complete surrender. God desires hearts that are fully devoted to Him, not selective obedience based on personal preference. Religious reform alone cannot replace genuine relationship with the Lord.

This chapter points to Christ, who fulfilled the Father's will perfectly. Jesus did not obey partially or selectively but completed every aspect of God's redemptive plan. Through His perfect obedience, believers receive the righteousness they could never achieve on their own.

For believers today, 2 Kings 10 challenges us to examine whether there are areas of compromise we have allowed to remain in our lives. It is possible to be zealous for certain aspects of God's work while still holding onto idols of the heart. In Christ, we are called to wholehearted obedience, surrendering every area of our lives to His lordship. True spiritual transformation begins when our devotion to God is complete, and our desire is not merely to remove obvious sin but to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

2 Corinthians 13 — Standing Firm in the Christ

2 Corinthians chapter 13 brings Paul's letter to a fitting conclusion by calling believers to examine their lives, pursue spiritual maturity, and remain united in the Christ, the Son of God. After defending the integrity of his ministry and repeatedly pointing the church back to the gospel, Paul ends with a pastoral appeal rather than a personal victory. The redemptive plan is not simply about correcting error but about producing mature disciples who faithfully reflect the character of the Christ.

The chapter begins with Paul's preparation for another visit to Corinth. He reminds the believers that sin cannot simply be ignored. God's desire is always restoration, but restoration requires honesty, repentance, and obedience. Christian living involves a willingness to receive correction because the Son of God disciplines those He loves. His purpose is never destruction but the strengthening of His people.

Paul addresses those who questioned his authority and sought proof that the Christ was working through him. Rather than responding with pride, he points to the example of Jesus Himself. The Christ willingly embraced weakness through His suffering and crucifixion, yet He now lives in the power of God. This becomes a pattern for every believer. The redemptive plan often displays God's greatest power through what the world considers weakness. Christian living is not built upon self-sufficiency but upon continual dependence on the risen Son of God.

One of the central themes of the chapter is self-examination. Rather than spending energy evaluating others, believers are called to examine their own relationship with the Christ. This examination is not intended to create fear or uncertainty but to encourage genuine faith and continued spiritual growth. The Son of God desires hearts that remain sincere, humble, and fully devoted to Him.

Paul expresses his prayer that the Corinthians would do what is right, even if it meant they no longer needed his correction. His goal was never to prove himself but to see the church walking faithfully with the Christ. This reflects the heart of true spiritual leadership. The redemptive plan always seeks the maturity of God's people rather than the recognition of His servants.

The chapter also emphasizes the purpose of spiritual authority. God gives authority within the church to build up His people, not to tear them down. The Christ uses faithful leaders to strengthen, encourage, correct, and equip believers for greater obedience. Christian living flourishes when truth is spoken with love and authority is exercised with humility.

As Paul closes the letter, he gives several practical exhortations that summarize much of what he has taught throughout both Corinthian letters. Believers are called to rejoice, pursue maturity, encourage one another, live in unity, and remain at peace. These qualities are evidence that the redemptive plan is actively transforming hearts. The Son of God does not merely save individuals; He creates a unified people who reflect His love and truth together.

The letter concludes with one of the most beautiful blessings in the New Testament. Paul points to the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. This closing reminder reveals that every aspect of Christian living depends upon the work of the triune God. The grace provided through the Christ, the love of the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit sustain believers as they walk in God's redemptive plan.

Throughout this chapter, the Christ remains the central focus. He is the standard by which believers examine themselves, the source of their strength, the model of humble obedience, and the One who equips His people for faithful living. The redemptive plan reaches beyond forgiveness into lifelong transformation, producing believers who increasingly reflect His character.

For believers today, this chapter calls us to live with honest self-examination and unwavering devotion to the Christ. Christian living requires humility, repentance, and a continual desire to grow in spiritual maturity. We are reminded to pursue unity, encourage one another, and remain faithful to the truth of God's Word. As we rely upon the grace of the Son of God, walk in the love of the Father, and depend upon the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, we become living testimonies of His redemptive plan and reflect the glory of the Christ to the world around us.

📌 Today's Readings are from the Book of 2 Kings 9–10 | 2 Corinthians 13 📌 👇 Overviews Are Below (PLEASE READ YOUR BIBLE: Overviews Do Not Replace Daily Reading) 👇 2 Kings 9 God’s Judgment and the Certainty of His Word 2 Kings 9 marks a decisive turning point in Israel's history as God begins carrying out the judgment He had previously announced through Elijah. 2 Kings 10 Zeal Without Wholehearted Obedience 2 Kings 10 continues Jehu's mission to remove the house of Ahab and eliminate Baal worship from Israel. 2 Corinthians 13 — Standing Firm in the Christ 2 Corinthians chapter 13 brings Paul's letter to a fitting conclusion by calling believers to examine their lives, pursue spiritual maturity, and remain united in the Christ, the Son of God. • Acts 21:

"1 And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:
2 And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth.
3 Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.
4 And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
5 And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.
6 And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.
7 And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.
8 And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.
9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.
10 And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.
11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
12 And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.
13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.
15 And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.
16 There went with us also certain of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.
17 And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
18 And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.
19 And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
20 And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.
22 What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
    23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.
27 And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.
29 (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)
30 And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.
31 And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.
32 Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.
33 Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.
34 And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.
35 And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.
36 For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.
37 And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?
38 Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
39 But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.
40 And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,"

  • Why do we believe the apostle Paul had no children? We can infer this from what the Bible tells us about him. By his own admission, it seems he didn’t have a wife (1 Corinthians 9:5). And prior to his conversion to Christ, he’d been a law-abiding Pharisee “zealous for God” (Acts 22:3). It’s highly unlikely that such a law-keeper would have children outside of marriage. It’s possible that Paul may have been married and then widowed, but there’s no indication of this in Scripture. In addition, he strongly implies that he has the gift of singleness (1 Corinthians 7:7). Twice he refers to “my true son” in the faith (1 Timothy 1:2; Titus 1:4). But “son” refers to spiritual children he introduced to Jesus and then discipled, not to physical progeny. Today, we can ask God to help us share our faith with the children and others that God places in our path.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    MONDAY AUGUST 3, 2O26.
" WHAT IS A PARENT TO DO?"

'But his sons did not walk in his ways...’ 1 Samuel 8:3 NIV

AT TIMES every parent despairs over their child’s decisions and actions. ‘I did my best to bring them up correctly; did I fail as a parent?’ Failure is a fact of life—and of parenting—and nobody does it perfectly! Parents assume a heavier load of guilt than they deserve. Consider some Bible examples of real-world parenting: Isaac had, at best, a 50 percent success rate with his sons, Jacob and Esau. Aaron struck out completely with Nadab and Abihu. Manoah’s boy Samson didn’t win the ‘son-of-the-year award’! And Samuel, a recognised moral and spiritual giant, watched his sons reject his example and teaching and pursue lives of bribery and shame. Since Adam, children ‘doing their own thing’ have broken their parents’ hearts! So what is a parent to do? 1) Realise you’re not responsible for their decisions. They make their own choices. Condemning yourself just discourages you, and it undermines your ability to be the parent they need. The Bible says, ‘…Salvation is of the Lord’ (Jonah 2:9 NJKV). He saves and delivers—not you. 2) Pray for them and give them to God. Anxiety and frustration will only make you the kind of parent they don’t enjoy being around, and who can’t enjoy them. You’re not built to carry such a load; your heavenly Father is, and He wants to carry it for you! (1 Peter 5:7). 3) Remember that God loves them more than you do! He gave His only child to save yours. He knows their heart, and how to reach it and turn it toward Him. So give your child to Him!

*JESUS: THE LORD OVER ALL* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽🏽

    ```TEXT:LUKE 4:33-44```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them" (LUKE 4:40).*_

*The Greek word for "Lord" translates to _Adonai_ in Hebrew. In modern parlance, it means "supreme Lord", an incommunicable name of God, and the substitute for Jehovah, a name the Jews would not pronounce. It is in this sense that Christ is 'the Lord, the Lord of lords, the Lord God'. Lord, in the sense in which God alone can be Lord speaks of His dominion over all things. Christ validates this in Capernaum.*

*Stepping out of Nazareth with defiance, Christ came into Capernaum with singleness of mind to pursue his tripartite ministry of teaching, healing and preaching. In the synagogue, on the Sabbath day, Christ stood tall as the Conqueror of sin, sickness and Satan; the Controller of demons and fallen angels and of course a compassionate consummate Saviour who speaks peace and hope to humanity.*

*In His towering yet meek posture, power meets with pity and that resulted in a stream of miracles, which confirmed His divinity. He stood as the Lord over all. The tone of authority and sternness rested fully in Him. He has pity on the convicted who sincerely seeks redemption and with the same breath turns to unclean, defiling spirits with a poignantly severe countenance. Even the acknowledgement of His divinity as "The Holy One of God", or "Jesus of Nazareth", or "Christ the Son of God" were not dignified with any form of approval. He will not have His name soiled by such lips.*

*Significantly, for you as a Christian pilgrim today, Christ's ministry in Capernaum is a model on which authentic ministries and ministrations must be built. First, since Jesus placed an uncommon emphasis on the preaching of the word, so must you do today and so walk in His steps. It is the word that converts sinners, edifies saints and wings the power that heals, delivers and liberates from satanic yokes. Secondly, since Jesus unswervingly devoted Himself to His mission to preach the Kingdom of God (Luke 4:43, 44), so must every Christian who is a beneficiary of the atonement at Calvary. Thirdly, just as Jesus resisted every distraction from His central calling, so must you also remain undistracted by the miracles, signs and wonders of the day. The Great Commission coupled with holiness of life must tower over and above every other concern, legitimate or otherwise. Finally, the agency of miracles then and now remains the same. It is always the spoken word, NOT water, oil, candle or garments, gymnastics or any hocus-pocus. Cling to Christ's model and He will be Lord over all in your life, family and ministry.*

*A spiritual legend, John Wesley says: "God does nothing except in response to believing prayer." God, our Creator has given us all things that relate to our lives and godliness. ```Key Verse:``` _*"And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you" (1 Thessalonians 4:11).*_

One of the reasons for going to school is to study; to learn what you do not know and what will be beneficial to you in future. You will be very ignorant if you have not attended a school and studied.

You study many subjects, but they all combine to make you one "learned" person. However, we do not study everything from school. There are some habits or virtues that you must teach yourself.

Today, we learn on the need to be quiet, do your own business (assignments), work with your own hands, and not disturb others. Quietness is a good habit we must learn or study if we are to grow up and be responsible adults.

It is not others that cause you to disturb; or not to keep quiet and pay attention. It is because you choose to show undue interest in what others do or say. It takes a great deal of self-control to be quiet and remain so. Some children keep quiet and concentrate on their work only for a moment.

Of course, you must be quiet before you can work well with your own hands. You lose attention or concentration immediately you begin to talk about other things, except about what you are doing. That is why your teacher always insists that you keep quiet in the class.

*You will run into many problems if you fail to obey the instruction of the Bible: "study to be quiet". You will end up being a busybody. You will not be able to gainfully use your time, work hard and succeed. From this moment, listen more, talk less!*

*PROOFS OF THE ULTIMATE POWER AND AUTHORITY OF CHRIST*

    *TEXT:* LUKE 4:33-44.

33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.
42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
44 And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.

    *Timeless Truth:*
_"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father"_ (Philippians 2:10,11).

    *INTRODUCTION*

Courts naturally assume a witness called by the defense is meant to help the accused. When that witness instead supports the accuser, the testimony is viewed as inherently honest because it goes against the witness's apparent allegiance. It completely destroys the specific line of defense the witness was brought to prove, leaving the accused’s story isolated or contradicted. The prosecution can heavily rely on this testimony during closing arguments to show that even the defendant’s own chosen witness knows the truth of the charges. The ministry of Jesus Christ was marked by undeniable demonstrations of His supreme power and divine authority. The fact that even demons, diseases and every force of darkness are all confessing to the power and authority of Jesus are strong and undeniable proofs that Jesus is truly Lord over all.

*1. Honest Confession of the Demons*

    a. Right there *"in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean devil"*. This man was in the synagogue. As long as there was no fire of the Holy Spirit in the Synagogue, the man was comfortably "worshipping". In some denominations of today, there are such people who are talented and appear zealous for God, but have evil spirits inside them because the church is void of the fire of the Holy Spirit. Such people, in cooperation with demons, do a lot of undetected havoc in the House of God. As Jesus taught in the Synagogue, the demon inside him started making cowardly and honest confessions. He, like the damsel possessed by the spirit of divination in Acts 16:16-18, started manifesting. He confessed, *"I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God."* He *"cried with a loud voice"* like a person manifesting the gift of prophecy. His confession was a combination of truth and falsehood as expected of corrupting demons. Jesus is truly the Holy One of God. However, the accusation that Jesus came to destroy them before their time was meant to put Jesus in a wrong perspective. The fact that Jesus did not destroy, but only cast them out, showed that the demon was actually ignorant or was deliberately lying. Satan is an incurable pathological liar who will always mix lies with truth so as to deceive the gullible. *"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."*
    b. It should not be surprising then that Jesus rebuked him and said *"hold thy peace"* though it appeared the demon was saying something positive about Christ. They will always try to win one's confidence with known truth before sneaking in poisons of errors. It is therefore, dangerous to base our doctrines and beliefs on the confession of those possessed with demons. The Word of God is the ultimate truth given to man on earth. It is the Word of God and His work that have been divinely decreed to glorify God and not unclean demons. Are these not the same demons who confess to the Lordship of Christ, but later go and deceive many that Jesus is not Lord? Are these not the demons that deceived a whole Jewish nation that Jesus is not the Messiah they were looking for? Our faith should rest only on the sufficient Word of God.
Sadly, while demons acknowledged Christ's authority, many human beings still reject Him.

    *Question*

Do you have the practical and experiential knowledge of Christ as the Lord of all, including you?

    *2.The Humiliating Christ's Dominion*

    a. The text is showing the total and absolute dominion of Christ over demons. It was a humiliating demonstration that if those demons have their way they would have loved to avoid such a scenario. Jesus commanded him to shut up and *"come out of him"*. Don't deal gently with demons; speak to them with the authority of Jesus. The demon had to surrender and come out shamefully. Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit with absolute authority. The demon obeyed immediately without resistance, proving that Satan's kingdom is completely subject to Christ's dominion. The people were astonished because His words carried divine authority unlike anything they had witnessed before.
    b. Christ's dominion is supreme over every demonic force, every stronghold and every work of darkness. No power can withstand His command. When believers use the name of Jesus to cast out demons, the demons must. *"At the name (or authority) of Jesus, every knee must bow"*, either in heaven, on earth or underneath the earth (Philippians 2:10, 11). All witchcraft, sorcery, evil works of darkness are all works of demons. Believers should learn to use the name of Jesus to deal with those forces of darkness with unwavering and persistent authority and faith.

    *Question*

Am I living daily in the confidence of Christ's absolute authority over every power of darkness?

*3. Healer and Conqueror over all Diseases*

    a. Modern medicine attributes all physical and mental illnesses to natural, biological, genetic and environmental causes. Medical causes of illness include pathogens, genetics and environmental factors.
Also, psychosomatic effects such as high stress and emotional distress can manifest as physical symptoms. The fact that there are many medically incurable (or unknown cure) sickness and diseases, that are cured by simple prayer in the name of Jesus, is an indication that many sicknesses and diseases have spiritual undertones.
Jesus rebuked Simon's mother-in-law's fever, just like He rebuked a demon and she was instantly healed and began serving others. Also, to Jesus were brought *all kinds of sick individuals to Him, and He healed them*. Though Jesus is not against medical healing, He never referred any sick to the hospitals of those days; He healed them all. No disease was beyond His power.
    b. His compassion matched His authority. Christ remains the Great Physician who heals physically according to His will, restores spiritually, and delivers completely from the bondage of sin. His power is sufficient for every need of His children. Has Jesus changed? (Hebrews 13:8).

    *Question*

Have I brought every sickness, burden and impossible situation to the Great Healer in faith?

    *Prayer Points*

1.Lord Jesus, strengthen my faith to recognize and submit completely to Your supreme power and authority .
2.Father, give me spiritual fire that I will be a threat to demons and their works .
3.Great Physician, let Your healing and deliverance touch be more manifested in my ministry .
4.Let the power of the Holy Spirit manifest mightily in Your Church so that spiritually camouflaging people will not have a hiding place in the congregation .

*HYMN:* Christ Jesus hath the power

*BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 6-7.

    2. Morning prayer for today.

    MP.i. Morning Prayer

Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. ⏤ Psalm 119:105

The Scriptures are God’s voice to us in our present hour. ⏤ A.W. Tozer

Our Father, bless Your word to us, which we have read together this morning. We thank You that it brings us the very counsel of Your will. May it stay in our hearts all day. May it be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path as we go forth. May its truth shine within us, showing us Your will, what Your thoughts concerning us are, and what You would have us do. We thank You for this heavenly light You have given us. Without it, we could never find our way home through the tangled paths. Without it, we would not know that You love us or think of us. Help us to receive Your words always with meekness and humility. Help us to walk in the way You have made clear to us.

We ask You to fill us with Your love this morning as we begin the day, so that wherever we go, our faces may shine with something of the light of Your face. We have no light of our own. Our lamps are empty unless You fill them. We ask You to give us Your grace, to fill our little lamps, that they may burn brightly. We do not want to be in darkness in this world—but desire to be lights, and we will shine if we have Your grace in us. Fill us with Your holy light.

We yearn to be blessings today to each other and to everyone we meet. Give us something to carry to others—something of Your love and grace. Lay Your hand upon us and give us each a Father’s blessing, first for ourselves and then to share with our neighbors and friends.

Keep us all from evil. Let us not sin willfully against You this day. Bring us all together in the evening when our work is done, if it be Your will. We ask all these favors in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🌺🌹🎁🎀💝 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY MONDAY AUGUST 3, 2O26. " WHAT IS A PARENT TO DO?" 'But his sons did not walk in his ways...’ 1 Samuel 8:3 NIV AT TIMES every parent despairs over their child’s decisions and actions. Christ validates this in Capernaum.* *Stepping out of Nazareth with defiance, Christ came into Capernaum with singleness of mind to pursue his tripartite ministry of teaching, healing and preaching. In the synagogue, on the Sabbath day, Christ stood tall as the Conqueror of sin, sickness and Satan; the Controller of demons and fallen angels and of course a compassionate consummate Saviour who speaks peace and hope to humanity.* *In His towering yet meek posture, power meets with pity and that resulted in a stream of miracles, which confirmed His divinity. He will not have His name soiled by such lips.* *Significantly, for you as a Christian pilgrim today, Christ's ministry in Capernaum is a model on which authentic ministries and ministrations must be built. Cling to Christ's model and He will be Lord over all in your life, family and ministry.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*Jesus Christ is valued above all and He is Lord over all.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *JOHN 6-7*📜📜 Jesus: The Lord Over All https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 214: ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS' NAME!; GHS 73: JESUS ONLY IS OUR MESSAGE; GHS 211: CROWN HIM WITH MANY CROWNS; AND GHS 115: LIFT HIM UP* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna3rdAugust2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [02/08, 8:31 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```MONDAY 3RD AUGUST, 2026``` *PRAYER PATTERN* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🗣️🙏🏽🙌🏽 📜📜```TEXT:MATTHEW 6:5-15```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly" (MATTHEW 6:6).*_ *A spiritual legend, John Wesley says: "God does nothing except in response to believing prayer." Christ's dominion is supreme over every demonic force, every stronghold and every work of darkness. *Question* Am I living daily in the confidence of Christ's absolute authority over every power of darkness? *3. Healer and Conqueror over all Diseases* a. *Question* Have I brought every sickness, burden and impossible situation to the Great Healer in faith? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord Jesus, strengthen my faith to recognize and submit completely to Your supreme power and authority 🙏. 2.Father, give me spiritual fire that I will be a threat to demons and their works 🙏. 3.Great Physician, let Your healing and deliverance touch be more manifested in my ministry 🙏. 4.Let the power of the Holy Spirit manifest mightily in Your Church so that spiritually camouflaging people will not have a hiding place in the congregation 🙏. *HYMN:* Christ Jesus hath the power *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 6-7. 2. Morning prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. ⏤ Psalm 119:105 The Scriptures are God’s voice to us in our present hour. ⏤ A.W. Tozer Our Father, bless Your word to us, which we have read together this morning. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/29/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.

    Be Zealous of good works.

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14

Christ’s followers have been redeemed for service. Our Lord teaches that the true object of life is ministry. Christ Himself was a worker, and to all His followers He gives the law of service—service to God and to their fellow men. Here Christ has presented to the world a higher conception of life than they had ever known. By living to minister for others man is brought into connection with Christ. The law of service becomes the connecting link which binds us to God and to our fellow men.

To His servants Christ commits “His goods”—something to be put to use for Him. He gives “to every man his work.” Each has his place in the eternal plan of Heaven. Each is to work in cooperation with Christ for the salvation of souls. Not more surely is the place prepared for us in the heavenly mansions than is the special place designated on earth where we are to work for God....

And those who would be workers together with God must strive for perfection of every organ of the body and quality of the mind. True education is the preparation of the physical, mental, and moral powers for the performance of every duty; it is the training of body, mind, and soul for divine service....

Of every Christian the Lord requires growth in efficiency and capability in every line. Christ has paid us our wages, even His own blood and suffering, to secure our willing service. He came to our world to give us an example of how we should work and what spirit we should bring into our labor. He desires us to show how we can best advance His work and glorify His name in the world, crowning with honor, with the greatest love and devotion, the Father who “so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” [219]
