    The Joy Of The Lord
Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

    Nehemiah 8:10
Though weeping is necessary, it is not the final message God has for us. To show this, Nehemiah and Ezra speak up and correct the people. What a powerful statement of the effect of the Word of God! When people understand it, it brings joy. The joy of the LORD is your strength. What a great word for grieving people who see the evil in their lives and the lives of those around them and mourn over what it has produced! The word that brings joy is that of forgiveness. God can forgive! He does, and He will restore. That is what Jesus meant when He said, Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted (Matthew 5:4). I don't think you will ever be comforted until you learn to mourn. When you see the hurt, pain, and despair that sin can produce and you grieve over it, then you are ready for the comfort of forgiveness.

What does the joy of the LORD mean? It is the fact that God has found a solution to these problems of sin. He has provided a way back to sensible, sober, wise, helpful, wholesome living. How? By learning to think like He thinks. Begin to see the world from His point of view. Listen no longer to the clamoring voices of the media. Do not take your philosophy of life from what people are saying or the advice others are giving. Listen to the Word of God.

That is the answer. It will heal your life. He sent forth his word and healed them, writes the psalmist (Psalm 107:20). The ministry of the Word of God is to heal us and create in us a desire to share that healing with others. Nehemiah urges the people to send portions of food to those who had nothing prepared. This is invariably the result in those who find their lives beginning to be healed by the Word of God. They start thinking of others who are hurting and want to share with them what they have learned.

Thank You, Lord, for the joy of forgiveness and restoration. Thank You for paying for that gift with the precious blood of Your Son.

    Hunger For The Word
They told Ezra the scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded for Israel.

    Nehemiah 8:1b
It is not surprising that chapter 8 opens with a manifestation of a great hunger for the Word among these people in Jerusalem. Notice that this seems to be a spontaneous gathering. No invitations were sent out. No public notice was given. People were hungry for answers to their problems and for guidelines from the Word of God, and with one accord they gathered in this great square before the Water Gate. They asked Ezra the priest to bring the Law of the Lord and to read it to them. This would undoubtedly be the entire Pentateuch--the first five books of the Bible. This indicates the tremendous desire of these people for truth. They listened, while standing, from daybreak until noon! Certainly this long attention indicates how deeply they were aware of their ignorance about life and how much they needed answers from God. They were simply crying out for the Word.

Ezra, the priest, the author of the book of Ezra, appears for the first time in the book of Nehemiah. Thirteen years earlier he had led a return from Persia to rebuild the temple and to teach the Law of God. Apparently he had been occupied in that task all through the time of the rebuilding of the wall. But when the people had finished their work, they were desperate to hear from the Word of God, so they sent for Ezra to lead them.

It seems to me that we have come to such a time as this again. The prophet Amos predicted that there would come a famine in the world for the Word of God. People would actually be starving for answers to the problems of life. I find everywhere a deep hunger among non-churched people to hear the Word of God. Wherever it is taught with any degree of understanding, they are immediately attracted to it.

When the Word is opened up, people begin to understand themselves. When you know God you begin to understand yourself, because you are made in the image of God. These people in Jerusalem were soon growing in self-knowledge as they began to hunger for the Word of God. The great tragedy of our day is how few churches seem to understand this power of Scripture.

Lord, create in me a hunger for Your Word. Forgive me for so often taking it for granted.

    The Need To Belong
So my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials and the common people for registration by families.

    Nehemiah 7:5a
It was necessary to ensure that only true Israelites lived within Jerusalem. There follows a list of names of all the families of those who came back from Persia to Jerusalem under the leadership of Ezra, some thirty years before the time of Nehemiah. These were among the ones who helped him build the wall. He is not only giving credit to them but is also recognizing that they will be responsible to carry on what he has begun. So having appointed leaders who would succeed him--men of integrity, courage, and faithfulness--he now sees to it that their followers are also true Israelites.

The spiritual application is that we need to know that we really belong to God. You will never be a successful servant of Christ nor ever faithfully work for Him and serve Him until you are assured that you know Him and belong to Him. This is not only necessary for leaders but for the common people as well. We all need to know our spiritual pedigree; otherwise, our service will be weak and largely ineffective.

Verse 61 lists some who could not prove their ancestry and were therefore not permitted to live in the city of Jerusalem. Certain ones among the priests were denied the right to minister because they could not prove their ancestry. Many try to minister in the church of God today who are uncertain that they belong to God. Sometimes pastors, seminary professors, and leaders in the Christian community do not themselves know that they are true Christians. These always wreak havoc in the churches they seek to serve.

The reference to the Urim and Thummim is interesting (Nehemiah 7:65). These were two stones (their names mean lights and perfections) that the high priest wore on his garment by which he could discern the mind of God. No one really knows how they worked. Nehemiah says these suspect priests were not allowed to minister until a high priest arrives who has the Urim and Thummim. I think this is a hidden reference to our Lord Jesus. In the book of Hebrews, Jesus is said to be a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 6:20), meaning one who lives forever and who fully knows the mind of God. He can restore suspect priests to a place of assurance in their ministry and give them back their office. He can bring them the assurance that they belong.

Father, thank You that I can rely on the promise of Your Word that I do belong. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God (John 1:12).

DIVINE STRENGTH AND DEPENDENCE ON GOD

    A WORD FROM THE WORD:

    "The LORD is my strength and my song;
he has given me victory." Psalms 118:14 NLT.

From the context of our anchor Scripture, the psalmist, by the Holy Spirit's inspiration reflects on how God's strength is a veritable source of courage and support in times of difficulty and trouble. So we can say, without any fear of contradiction that victory in life and life's endeavours for the true child of God comes from the LORD.

Paul the apostle, by the Holy Spirit's inspiration wrote to the Church in Philippi, and to us by extension to 'Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!' (Philippians 4:4 NLT).
When the Spirit of Jesus opens the eyes of your understanding, and reveals to you the plague of your own heart and your need to be strengthened by the Saviour, you cannot but come to the full understanding and reality that the arms of the flesh will always fail anyone who reposes trust and confidence on it; and then earnestly grab the opportunity to cruise on God's strength with all you have.

We can say assuredly that to rejoice in the LORD always like Paul, the apostle admonished above, you must have a saving interest in Him. Just like the jailor believed and rejoiced, shouldn't you as a believing child of God rejoice likewise, having been saved from the guilt of sin, the condemnation of sin, the dominion of sin and the grave, the power of death and the vengeance of everlasting fire, etc?

May God grant you strength on every side and victory, as you go out in peace and return in peace. By the strength and mercies of the LORD, you shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

    PRAYER BULLETS:

Father LORD, thank You for the salvation of my soul. May I continue to receive courage and support from Your strength.

    FURTHER READING:

    Psalm 9:14; Psalm 118:14-117; Acts 16:24-34; Ezra 3:11.

    WEDNESDAY AUGUST 5, 2026

YOUR HEART DETERMINES THE QUALITY OF YOUR SERVICE 5

    A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Meanwhile, God’s firm foundation is as firm as ever, these sentences engraved on the stones: GOD KNOWS WHO BELONGS TO HIM. STEER CLEAR OF EVIL, ALL YOU WHO NAME GOD AS GOD. In a well-furnished kitchen there are not only crystal goblets and silver platters, but waste cans and compost buckets—some containers used to serve fine meals, others to take out the garbage. Become that kind of container God can use to present any and every kind of gift to his guests for their blessing." 2 Timothy 2:19-21 MSG.

Have you wondered why an athlete does not run a race in suit, tie, boot, hat, and so on? The reason is because those stuffs no matter how fashionable they are, nothing is wrong with them, just that they are not relevant to the sport; they draw you back, and won't allow you perform optimally.

Now the fact that YOUR HEART DETERMINES THE QUALITY OF YOUR SERVICE cannot be controverted or overemphasised, it has become a reality set before you; and now is the acceptable time you have to recognise and (re)activate your core to serve.

Are you ready to let go and follow the LORD Jesus, or are you ready to abandon heaven? Choose now.
The LORD Jesus is still asking,  WHERE AND HOW IS YOUR HEART?

    PRAYER BULLETS:

LORD Jesus, in spite of my self life, my heart yearns for you, help and engrace me to follow You all the way, and please You all my life.

    FURTHER READING:

    Ezra 7:10; Luke 8:15; Hebrews 10:22.

FULL RESTORATION IN THE SEVENTH MONTH EZRA 3:1, NEHEMIAH 7:73

Grace, apostolic power, and the multiplied peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be unto your spirit. As disciples of the living Word, we do not approach the Scriptures as mere historical literature; we engage them as a living, breathing prophetic blueprint that dictates the spiritual seasons of our lives.

Today, the Spirit of God is unlocking a profound mystery concerning spiritual recovery, divine alignment, and the absolute rebuilding of ruined places. We are examining the eschatological and personal significance of the Seventh Month in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. Prepare your spirit, for this is an apostolic summons out of Babylonian captivity and into the radical dimension of Full Restoration.

The Architecture of the Seventh Month

In the prophetic calendar of God, the seventh month (Tishrei) is not just a marker of time; it is a spiritual portal of completion, perfection, and the finished work. Historically, it was the month of the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles.

When the Israelites returned from seventy brutal years of Babylonian exile, they were broken, scattered, and disconnected from their spiritual heritage. Yet, both Ezra and Nehemiah record a sudden, supernatural shift that occurred specifically in the seventh month. God is decreeing a mystery today: The seventh month is the ordained season where the scattered pieces of your destiny are sovereignly regathered In Jesus Christ mighty name.

The Mystery of the Gathered Altar

"And when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem." — Ezra 3:1

Notice the profound prophetic language: they gathered as one man.

Babylon represents confusion, division, and the exhaustion of fleshly striving. Jerusalem represents the place of the Altar and the presence of God. When the seventh month arrived, the people abandoned their personal agendas, their individual trauma, and their private ambitions to gather around one central focus: the Altar of the Lord.

You cannot experience full restoration while maintaining a divided heart. Restoration does not begin with the building of the walls (protection) or the building of the houses (comfort); it begins with the rebuilding of the Altar (sacrifice). God is demanding a complete soul-surrender. You must lay your intellect, your pain, and your desires on the Altar of Christ. When your consecration becomes single-minded—when your soul gathers its scattered focus as one man toward Jesus—full restoration is inevitable.

Divine Placement: Returning to Your City

"So the priests, and the Levites... and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities." — Nehemiah 7:73

Before the great revival of Nehemiah 8 could break out, a vital prerequisite had to be met: the people had to be properly positioned in their cities.

This speaks to the mystery of divine alignment. You cannot receive the outpouring of God's restoration if you are geographically, relationally, or spiritually out of place. Many believers are exhausted because they are trying to function outside of their God-ordained jurisdiction. The seventh month brings a grace for spiritual relocation. It is the season where God forcefully realigns you with your true spiritual identity, your proper kingdom rank, and your authentic apostolic assignment.

    The Call to Radical Consecration

Are you still holding on to the remnants of Babylon? Are you still trying to rebuild your life using the tools of the flesh? The season of exile is over. The seventh month is here.

To step into this dimension of full restoration, your soul must bow perfectly to the Lordship of Christ. You must stop trying to negotiate with God. Absolute surrender is the only currency that heaven recognizes for absolute restoration. God is ready to rebuild the ruined places of your family, your ministry, and your finances, but He requires the unhindered deed to your life.

Prophetic Decree and Prayer of Consecration

"Father, in the supreme and sovereign Name of Jesus Christ, I decree that my season of Babylonian wandering and scattered focus ends TODAY. I surrender my mind, my will, and my emotions entirely to Your altar. I repent for fleshly striving and for operating out of divine alignment. As I step into the prophetic reality of the seventh month, I ask that You gather every fragmented piece of my life, my calling, and my destiny. Rebuild my spiritual foundation. Position me in the exact coordinates of Your will. I yield completely to Your Lordship. Let the era of full restoration begin in me and through me! Consume my flesh, purify my motives, and let only Christ remain. In Jesus' mighty Name!"

Beloved, if your spirit is burning and you recognize that you have entered your season of complete recovery, I want you to seal this prophetic alignment right now. Type AMEN in the comments below as a public declaration that your flesh is crucified and you are ready for full restoration.

AMAZING 2300-DAY PROPHECY OF DANIEL 8:14 REVEALED!

One of the Greatest Prophecies Proving That Jesus Is the Messiah and That God's Judgment Is Now in Session

"And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed." — Daniel 8:14

The prophecy of the 2,300 days is one of the most remarkable and faith-strengthening prophecies in all of Scripture. It points directly to Jesus Christ, confirms the inspiration of the Bible, and reveals where we are living in God's prophetic timeline.

A PROPHECY FOR THE TIME OF THE END

The angel Gabriel repeatedly emphasized that this vision concerned "the time of the end."

"Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision." (Daniel 8:17)

"I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation." (Daniel 8:19)

"Seal up the vision; for it shall be for many days." (Daniel 8:26)

Gabriel wanted Daniel—and us—to understand that this prophecy has special significance for those living in earth's final days.

    THE DAY-FOR-A-YEAR PRINCIPLE

In Bible prophecy, a prophetic day represents a literal year.

Ezekiel 4:6 — "I have appointed thee each day for a year."

Numbers 14:34 — "Each day for a year."

    Therefore:

    2,300 prophetic days = 2,300 literal years.

    THE STARTING POINT: 457 B.C.

Daniel 9 explains the beginning of the prophecy.

While Daniel was praying, Gabriel returned to explain the unexplained portion of the vision.

Daniel 9:23 — "Therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision."

The starting point was the decree issued by King Artaxerxes allowing Jerusalem to be rebuilt.

    Ezra 7

457 B.C. — The decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem.

This decree marked the beginning of both the 2,300-year prophecy and the 70-week prophecy.

    70 WEEKS DETERMINED FOR ISRAEL

    Gabriel declared:

    Daniel 9:24

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people..."

    Seventy prophetic weeks equal:

    70 × 7 = 490 literal years.

God granted His covenant people another opportunity to repent and receive the Messiah.

    THE PROPHECY POINTS TO JESUS

Gabriel said that 69 prophetic weeks (483 years) would lead to the Messiah.

    Starting from 457 B.C.

    483 years brings us to A.D. 27.

    What happened?

Jesus was baptized and anointed by the Holy Spirit.

    Acts 10:38

    Luke 3:21-22

Jesus then began His ministry declaring:

    Mark 1:15

    "The time is fulfilled..."

More than 500 years before Christ came, the exact year of His anointing had already been foretold!

    What does this prove?

    The Bible is inspired.

    Jesus is the promised Messiah.

God's prophetic Word can be trusted completely.

    THE CROSS FORETOLD

One prophetic week (7 years) remained.

    Gabriel declared:

    Daniel 9:26-27

"Messiah shall be cut off, but not for himself."

In the middle of that final week—three and a half years later—

    Spring, A.D. 31

    Jesus was crucified.

    Not for His own sins...

    But for ours.

    Isaiah 53:5

    1 Corinthians 15:3

    1 Peter 2:22

    Hallelujah! What a Savior!

The cross stands at the very heart of Daniel's prophecy.

THE GOSPEL GOES TO THE GENTILES

After Christ's ascension, the disciples continued confirming God's covenant to the Jewish nation.

    Then came a turning point.

    A.D. 34

    Stephen was stoned.

    Acts 7:57-60

Following this, the gospel began going to all nations.

    Acts 13:46

God's chosen people now include all who accept Christ by faith.

    Galatians 3:27-29

    Romans 2:28-29

    THE PROPHECY REACHES 1844

    After A.D. 34:

    2,300 − 490 = 1,810 years remaining.

    A.D. 34 + 1,810 years =

    A.D. 1844

    Exactly as Daniel foretold.

    What happened?

    Daniel 8:14

"Then shall the sanctuary be cleansed."

The earthly sanctuary had been destroyed in A.D. 70.

Therefore, this cleansing refers to the heavenly sanctuary, where the heavenly judgment began.

This is the antitypical Day of Atonement.

WE ARE LIVING IN THE HOUR OF GOD'S JUDGMENT

The message of heaven today is clear:

    Revelation 14:6-7

"Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come."

Just as Noah warned the world before the Flood...

God has given a prophetic warning before Christ's return.

Since 1844, heaven's judgment has been in session.

Soon, sin will be removed forever.

    The faithful will be vindicated.

    The universe will be cleansed.

And the peace of Eden will be restored.

    WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

    Now is the time to:

    Surrender fully to Jesus.

    Study God's Word diligently.

    Confess and forsake sin.

    Live by faith in Christ.

    Proclaim the everlasting gospel.

Prepare to meet our soon-coming King.

God's prophetic Word has never failed.

The same prophecy that pointed precisely to Christ's baptism, crucifixion, and the gospel going to the Gentiles assures us that Jesus is coming again.

The Judge is our Savior. The Lamb is our Advocate. And the King is coming soon!
