  • My First Album - The Jeremiah Experience

Each song is more of a cinematic alternative style, hard and dark in its lyrical expression.

A compilation of some of the most profound worship songs inspired by the life and writings of the Prophet Jeremiah that reflect his role as a leader during the chaotic period of the late seventh and early sixth centuries BC, where he delivered God's messages to His obstinate people. Jeremiah articulated that his dialogue with God was a source of joy and nourishment for his soul.

Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16

The prophet Jeremiah engages in raw and honest conversations, fervently seeking God's awareness and calling for justice as he endures suffering due to his unwavering faith in proclaiming God's truth. His candid expression of pain and the sacrifices he makes for his obedience stand out as the most profound among all the prophets of the Old Testament.

Burning Light is my first lyrical interpretation of Jeremiah 15:10-14, and I hope you step into "The Jeremiah Experience" of worshiping God. Put on your headphones, turn up the volume, stand to your feet with your eyes closed, and prepare to love Abba Father in a state of deepest worship.

    *Burning Light: Jeremiah 15:16*

Alas, my mother, for you gave me birth, a man with whom the whole land strives and contends! I have neither lent nor borrowed, yet everyone curses me.

When darkness comes, this painful, lonely calling burns deep in my soul. When shall I find comfort? When shall I see you, Abba, my Father?
In my deep despair, I wish I had never been born. I have done no wrong to provoke personal enemies—yet, they oppose and curse me for simply speaking God's truth.

When darkness comes, this painful, lonely calling burns deep in my soul. When shall I find comfort? When shall I see you, Abba, my Father?

Yet my Lord said to me, “Surely I will deliver you for a good purpose; surely I will make your enemies pleadwith you in times of disaster and times of distress. Can a man break iron—iron from the north—or bronze?

When darkness comes, this painful, lonely calling burns deep in my soul. When shall I find comfort? When shall I see you, Abba, my Father?
In my darkness, you have come; in my darkness, you bring the light.

I am assured that you will deliver and care for me, ensuring my future vindication. You will make me strong and invincible against my attackers.

When darkness comes, this painful, lonely calling burns deep in my soul. When shall I find comfort? When shall I see you, Abba, my Father?

You promise me, my Lord, that their wealth and treasures you will give as plunder, without charge, because of all their sins. You enslave my enemies, for your anger will kindle a fire that will burn against them. In my darkness, you have come; in my darkness, you bring the light; in my darkness, you deliver me by the light.

  • The Story Behind the Hymns
THE STORY BEHIND "LORD JESUS, THINK ON ME"

“Lord Jesus, Think on Me” is one of the oldest Christian hymns still sung in churches today, with roots stretching back more than fourteen centuries to the early life of the Christian Church. Its words are widely attributed to Synesius of Cyrene, a Christian bishop and philosopher who lived between about 373 and 414 AD in Cyrene, in what is now modern-day Libya in North Africa.

Synesius was known as a learned man long before he became a bishop. Educated in classical philosophy and rhetoric, he belonged to a generation of Christian thinkers who blended intellectual depth with deep spiritual devotion. When he eventually entered church leadership, his writings reflected both his philosophical background and a deeply personal faith. Among the works associated with him were short devotional hymns, quiet prayers written in verse.

“Lord Jesus, Think on Me” began as one of these reflective prayers. Originally written in Greek, the hymn was not meant for grand ceremonies or dramatic musical performance. Instead, it was a deeply personal appeal to Christ for mercy, spiritual strength, and inner transformation. Its verses express a believer’s desire to be freed from sinful impulses and worldly distractions, and to live with a heart made pure through faith.

For centuries the hymn remained part of the early Christian tradition until it reached English-speaking congregations through the work of Allen William Chatfield, an Anglican clergyman and translator. In 1855, Chatfield translated several ancient Greek hymns into English, carefully preserving their reflective and prayerful tone. His translation brought the hymn into hymnals used across Britain and beyond, allowing a much wider audience to encounter its quiet spiritual beauty.

The opening lines of the hymn became especially beloved:

    Lord Jesus, think on me
    And purge away my sin;
From earth-born passions set me free
    And make me pure within.

These words capture the essence of the entire hymn: a humble, heartfelt prayer for forgiveness and renewal. Rather than elaborate theology, the hymn offers simple petitions, asking Christ for guidance in times of trouble, calm in moments of fear, strength in weakness, and hope in the promise of eternal life.

In many churches today, the hymn is most often sung during the season of Lent, a period of reflection and repentance leading up to Easter. Its calm and contemplative tone fits naturally within services focused on prayer, introspection, and spiritual renewal.

Despite being written more than a millennium ago, “Lord Jesus, Think on Me” continues to resonate with worshippers across generations and its enduring power lies in its simplicity. The hymn reminds believers that faith is often expressed in the quietest of prayers, a humble appeal for grace, guidance, and the transforming presence of Christ in everyday life.

THE STORY BEHIND "GO TO DARK GETHSEMANE"

“Go to Dark Gethsemane” is a solemn Lenten hymn that invites believers to reflect deeply on the suffering of Jesus Christ during the final hours before His crucifixion. The hymn was written in 1820 by the English clergyman James Montgomery, a respected Christian poet and hymn writer known for creating texts that guide worshippers through the events of Christ’s life.

Montgomery wrote the hymn as a meditation on the Passion of Christ, particularly the moment in the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus went to pray on the night He was betrayed. According to the Gospel accounts, Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the garden after the Last Supper. There, He prayed in deep agony, knowing the suffering that awaited Him. Scripture records that His sorrow was so intense that “His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”

The opening line, “Go to dark Gethsemane,” is an invitation. Rather than merely observing the story from a distance, the hymn calls believers to spiritually enter the scene, to stand quietly and watch Christ in prayer during His hour of anguish. Montgomery urges worshippers to remember that Christ faced temptation, fear, and suffering willingly for the salvation of humanity.

The first verse focuses on Christ’s inner struggle in prayer. While Jesus wrestled with the weight of the coming crucifixion, His disciples struggled to stay awake. He asked them to watch and pray with Him, yet they repeatedly fell asleep. Montgomery uses this moment to teach Christians an important lesson: when facing temptation or trials, they should look to Christ’s example and learn how to pray with perseverance.

Each stanza of the hymn follows the events of the Passion. After Gethsemane, later verses lead worshippers to the judgment hall where Jesus was condemned, and finally to Calvary where He was crucified. In this way, the hymn becomes a devotional journey through the suffering of Christ, guiding believers step by step through the most sacred moments of Holy Week.

Due to its reflective and prayerful tone, “Go to Dark Gethsemane” is most often sung during Lent and Holy Week, especially on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Its melody is typically paired with the tune “REDHEAD” composed by the English musician Richard Redhead in the nineteenth century. The tune’s quiet, minor character perfectly complements the hymn’s contemplative message.

More than two centuries after it was written, the hymn continues to invite Christians into a moment of quiet reflection. Montgomery’s words remind believers that the path to the cross began in a lonely garden where Christ prayed in sorrow, and where His followers are called to watch, reflect, and learn from His example of faithful prayer.
