  • sometimes, when you are not motivated to attend church. Remember this , in some countries, there is no liberty for you to express your christianity. once you become christians, you are rejected by your own family and faces violent adversities from those who are anchored in their own native religions.
    You are now an outsider and outcast from the family inheritance. what will you choose your family and legacy of your inheritance or Christ and promises found in the Bible.

  • The Joy of Meeting Your Legend and Your Savior
    There is a special kind of joy that comes when you finally meet someone you have admired, respected, and looked up to for a long time. Meeting your legend can leave you excited and inspired because you have encountered someone whose life, achievements, or character has motivated you.
    But there is a greater joy—the joy of knowing and meeting Jesus Christ, your Savior. Earthly legends may inspire you for a season, but Jesus gives you hope, salvation, peace, purpose, and eternal life. A legend may influence your journey, but Jesus can completely transform your life.
    So, never lose hope because of where you are today. Keep walking with God, keep believing, keep praying, and keep pressing forward. The same God who has brought you this far is able to take you to places you never imagined.
    Your present situation is not the final chapter of your story. Your testimony is still being written!
    Prophetic Declaration
    I declare over your life today: May you experience the joy of divine encounters. May God connect you with people who will inspire, encourage, and elevate you into His purpose for your life.
    May every closed door standing between you and your destiny be opened. May your dreams receive divine direction, and may your efforts produce beautiful results.
    I declare that you will not die without fulfilling your God-given purpose. You will meet the right people, enter the right places, receive the right opportunities, and experience the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
    Above all, may your relationship with Jesus Christ grow deeper every day. May you know Him, love Him, serve Him, and one day rejoice in His presence forever.
    Your best days are not behind you. By the grace of God, greater days are ahead! In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
    Jeremiah 29:11 — “For i know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
    Psalm 27:13 — “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.”
    May you encounter your earthly inspirations, but above all, may you encounter Jesus—the greatest treasure of all.

  • Christian whistleblower nurse Vanessa Sivadge has secured a settlement with Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) that requires the hospital to establish what her attorneys describe as the first free “detransitioner clinic” in the United States.
    The clinic, scheduled to open by the end of October, will provide free care for at least five years to patients up to age 21 who underwent transgender procedures at TCH or elsewhere and are experiencing fertility, endocrine, psychiatric or other long-term health complications.
    The settlement follows Sivadge’s allegations that TCH committed Medicaid fraud related to transgender treatments for minors. Sivadge, who was fired after speaking out and requesting a religious accommodation, said her Christian faith motivated her whistleblowing.
    Reflecting on the outcome, she said, “America’s First Detransitioner Clinic… It’s extraordinary. It’s unprecedented. It was worth it.” She added, “It’s over. I won. To God be the Glory.”

    1 Kings 19

    The God Who Restores the Weary

    1 Kings 19 follows one of the greatest spiritual victories in Scripture with one of its greatest personal struggles. After the triumph on Mount Carmel, Elijah receives a death threat from Queen Jezebel. Instead of celebrating God's victory, he flees into the wilderness overwhelmed by fear, exhaustion, and discouragement. The chapter reminds us that even the strongest servants of God can experience seasons of weariness.

    Elijah reaches a point where he believes his ministry has failed and that he is completely alone. His perspective has become clouded by fear and fatigue. Rather than rebuking His servant harshly, God responds with compassion. The Lord first provides physical rest, food, and refreshment before addressing Elijah's spiritual needs. This demonstrates God's care for the whole person. Sometimes physical exhaustion contributes to spiritual discouragement, and God ministers to both.

    After strengthening Elijah, God leads him to Mount Horeb, where Moses once encountered the Lord. Elijah expects God to reveal Himself through dramatic displays of power such as wind, earthquake, and fire. Instead, God speaks through a still small voice. The Lord reminds Elijah that His work is often accomplished quietly and faithfully rather than through spectacular events alone.
    God gently corrects Elijah's perspective. Elijah believes he is the only faithful servant remaining, but God reveals that thousands have not bowed to Baal. The Lord's work has continued even when Elijah could not see it. God's kingdom is always larger than our limited perspective.

    The chapter concludes with God giving Elijah new assignments, including the call of Elisha as his successor. Elijah's ministry is not over. The Lord restores His weary servant and prepares the next generation to continue His work. God's purposes move forward through faithful servants, one generation after another.

    Theologically, 1 Kings 19 reveals God's tender compassion toward weary believers. He understands human weakness and provides grace, restoration, and renewed purpose. The chapter teaches that God's voice is often heard most clearly when hearts become quiet before Him. It also reminds us that discouragement distorts perspective, but God's truth restores hope.

    This chapter points to Christ, who compassionately restores the weary and invites all who labor and are heavy laden to come to Him for rest. Jesus understands human weakness because He entered our humanity, yet He never failed in His obedience. Through Him, believers receive strength, comfort, and renewed purpose for every season of life.

    For believers today, 1 Kings 19 reminds us that seasons of discouragement do not disqualify us from God's service. When we are weary, the Lord meets us with compassion rather than condemnation. He restores our strength, corrects our perspective, and reminds us that His work continues even when we cannot see the full picture. In Christ, we find the grace to rise again and continue faithfully serving our King.

    1 Kings 20

    Victory Belongs to the Lord

    1 Kings 20 records a series of conflicts between Israel and Ben-Hadad, king of Syria. Although Ahab remains an ungodly king, God demonstrates His sovereignty by intervening on behalf of Israel. The chapter reveals that God's actions are motivated not by Ahab's righteousness but by His desire to reveal Himself as the one true God.

    Ben-Hadad approaches Israel with overwhelming military confidence, believing that victory is guaranteed through superior numbers and strength. His arrogance reflects the common belief that success belongs to the strongest army. Yet God sends a prophet to announce that He will give Israel victory so that everyone will know that He alone is the Lord.

    Against overwhelming odds, Israel defeats the Syrian army exactly as God had promised. Rather than acknowledging God's power, however, the Syrians conclude that Israel's God must only be powerful in the mountains. They assume they can achieve victory by changing the location of the battle. Their misunderstanding reveals a limited view of God, treating Him as though He were merely a regional deity rather than the sovereign Creator of heaven and earth.

    God responds by giving Israel another decisive victory. Through this second deliverance, the Lord demonstrates that His authority extends over every place, every nation, and every circumstance. He is not confined by geography, human understanding, or earthly limitations. His power is absolute and universal.
    After the victory, however, Ahab fails to obey God's command completely. Rather than carrying out God's judgment against Ben-Hadad, he enters into an alliance for political advantage. What appears to be mercy is actually compromise because it ignores God's clear instruction. As a result, Ahab receives a prophetic rebuke. His failure reminds us that partial obedience is still disobedience.
    The chapter closes with the sobering reality that even great victories lose their spiritual value when obedience is neglected. God grants victory, but He also requires faithful submission to His Word.

    Theologically, 1 Kings 20 reveals God's sovereignty over every nation and every battle. Victory belongs to Him alone, and His purposes cannot be limited by human assumptions or worldly power. The chapter also teaches that God's blessings should never lead to complacency or compromise. Obedience must continue after victory has been won.

    This chapter points to Christ, who has won the ultimate victory over sin, Satan, and death. Unlike Ahab, Jesus fulfilled the Father's will completely and never compromised His obedience. His victory was perfect, final, and eternal. Through Him, believers share in a triumph that no earthly enemy can overcome.
    For believers today, 1 Kings 20 reminds us that our confidence must rest in God rather than human strength, resources, or circumstances. Every victory we experience comes from His hand and should lead us into greater obedience rather than self-confidence. In Christ, we serve the victorious King whose power extends over every challenge we face. As we trust Him completely and obey His Word faithfully, we can live with confidence that the Lord alone is God and that every battle ultimately belongs to Him.

    2 Corinthians 7 — Godly Sorrow That Leads to Lasting Joy

    2 Corinthians chapter 7 brings to completion Paul's appeal for holiness and reconciliation by demonstrating the life-changing power of genuine repentance. Throughout the chapter, the focus is on restored relationships, joyful obedience, and the transforming work of the Christ, the Son of God. Rather than leaving believers burdened by correction, Paul shows that God's loving discipline is designed to produce spiritual maturity, renewed fellowship, and lasting joy. The redemptive plan does not merely expose sin; it provides the grace necessary to overcome it and restores those who humbly return to the Lord.

    The chapter begins by building upon God's promises from the previous chapter. Because believers belong to the Lord and have become His dwelling place through the Holy Spirit, they are called to pursue holiness in every area of life. Christian living is a continual process of turning away from anything that dishonors the Christ while drawing closer to Him in reverence and love. Holiness is not motivated by fear but by gratitude for what the Son of God has accomplished through His saving work.

    Paul then opens his heart once again to the Corinthian believers. Despite the difficulties they had experienced together, his desire was never to condemn them but to strengthen their relationship. This reflects the heart of the Christ, who lovingly corrects His people so they may experience deeper fellowship with Him. The redemptive plan restores relationships that have been damaged by sin, replacing distance with reconciliation and trust.

    Paul recalls the emotional burden he experienced while waiting to hear how the Corinthians had responded to his previous letter. His concern demonstrates the heart of a faithful shepherd who genuinely loves God's people. Yet in the midst of his anxiety, God brought encouragement through the arrival of Titus and the joyful report that the Corinthians had responded with humility and repentance. The Son of God often brings comfort through the fellowship of believers, reminding His people that they are not called to walk alone.

    One of the central themes of the chapter is the difference between worldly sorrow and godly sorrow. Worldly sorrow focuses on the consequences of sin, damaged reputation, or personal loss, but it does not produce lasting transformation. Godly sorrow, however, leads to genuine repentance. It causes believers to recognize their sin before the Lord, turn away from it, and pursue renewed obedience. This kind of repentance is a gift of God's grace and an essential part of Christian living.
    Paul rejoices not because the Corinthians experienced sorrow, but because their sorrow led them back to the Christ. Their repentance produced visible evidence of changed hearts. They desired purity, truth, justice, and restored fellowship. This demonstrates that genuine repentance is always accompanied by transformed attitudes and actions. The redemptive plan changes not only what people believe but also how they live.

    The chapter also highlights the joy that accompanies restoration. Titus himself was refreshed by the Corinthians' obedience and love, and Paul rejoiced because the relationship between himself and the church had been strengthened. This reminds believers that obedience to the Son of God does not diminish joy—it deepens it. Forgiveness, reconciliation, and restored fellowship produce lasting peace that only the Christ can provide.

    Another important lesson throughout the chapter is the value of loving correction within the body of Christ. Paul's previous letter contained difficult truths, yet those truths were spoken out of genuine love. The Christ continues to work through His Word, His Spirit, and His people to bring correction that leads to life. Christian living requires humility to receive correction and wisdom to respond with repentance rather than defensiveness.

    The chapter concludes with Paul expressing complete confidence in the Corinthians because of their positive response. Their willingness to obey demonstrated that God's grace was actively transforming their lives. The Son of God had not abandoned His people but was faithfully completing His work within them. This confidence was rooted not in human effort but in the power of God's redemptive plan to produce lasting spiritual fruit.

    Throughout this chapter, the character of the Christ is clearly displayed. He lovingly convicts His people of sin, leads them to repentance, restores broken relationships, and fills them with lasting joy. His grace is always directed toward restoration, never toward condemnation for those who humbly return to Him. The gospel continually calls believers to repentance because repentance continually draws them into deeper fellowship with the Son of God.

    For believers today, this chapter reminds us that true repentance is one of God's greatest gifts. Christian living requires humble hearts that welcome God's correction, knowing that His discipline is always motivated by love. We are encouraged to pursue holiness, seek reconciliation where relationships have been broken, and trust that the Son of God is faithful to restore all who sincerely turn to Him. As we respond to His grace with genuine repentance and joyful obedience, our lives become living testimonies of His transforming power and His eternal redemptive plan.

    “𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘏𝘪𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦;
    𝘕𝘰𝘸 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺.”

    We know what it feels like to be pulled in a hundred directions—responsibilities, expectations, pressures that never seem to slow down. Yet the question is not whether life is demanding, but what truly drives us. Whether we feel weary or willing, Scripture reminds us: Christ's love was never meant merely to comfort us—it was meant to compel us.

    Paul writes in 🕮 𝟐 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟓:𝟏𝟒, “𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘶𝘴…” The word “constraineth” speaks of being held together, compelled, or driven by an irresistible force. Paul was not motivated by applause, obligation, or personal gain. The love of Christ had so overwhelmed his heart that he could not remain silent. Christ’s love was the engine behind his ministry.

    A river does not struggle to flow once its source is full. It naturally pours into everything around it. In the same way, a heart filled with Christ's love cannot keep the Gospel to itself. The deeper we understand Calvary, the farther compassion will carry us. The love that rescued us now compels us to point others to the only Saviour who can rescue them.

    Scripture declares, “𝘞𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮, 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘴” (𝟏 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟒:𝟏𝟗). His love is not passive—it is pursuing. Christ came “𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘵” (𝐋𝐮𝐤𝐞 𝟏𝟗:𝟏𝟎). Paul adds, “𝘏𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭” (𝟐 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟓:𝟏𝟓), so that we would no longer live for ourselves but for Him who died and rose again.

    The Church does not need more reluctant servants—it needs grateful worshippers. Paul writes, “𝘕𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘦; 𝘺𝘦𝘢, 𝘸𝘰𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦, 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘭!” (𝟏 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟗:𝟏𝟔). Don't treat the Gospel like a museum piece—admired but untouched. The love of Christ is not meant to be admired; it is meant to be announced. His love is a fire, and a fire that is not spreading is dying.

    Before Christ ever called us to follow Him, He first loved us and gave Himself for us. “𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦” (𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟐:𝟐𝟎). “𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴” (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟏𝟓:𝟏𝟑). His love was not merely spoken—it was proven at Calvary (𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟓:𝟖). So, we do not serve out of guilt—we serve out of gratitude. We are not driven by fear—we are driven by love.

    Has your service for Christ become routine rather than worship? What truly drives your obedience—pressure, guilt, or Christ's love? You don't need Christ merely to give you a mission—you need Him because His love is the only fire that will keep you burning when the world grows cold. The same love that saved you now sends you.

    𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, thank You for the love of Christ that compels our hearts. Forgive us for living for ourselves when You have called us to live for Him. Fill us with His love, His courage, and His compassion. Move us to serve, witness, and obey. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

    Remember, a dose of God’s Word a day will keep you going all day!

    𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 ✍️ “𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘏𝘪𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦; 𝘕𝘰𝘸 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺.” We know what it feels like to be pulled in a hundred directions—responsibilities, expectations, pressures that never seem to slow down. • Daily Bible Lesson.
    IF JESUS KEPT THE SEVENTH-DAY SABBATH—WHY SHOULDN'T HIS FOLLOWERS?

    "And He came to Nazareth... and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day." — Luke 4:16

    The Bible says it was Jesus' custom to worship on the Seventh-day Sabbath. It was not an occasional practice—it was His faithful example.

    TRUTH IS NOT ALWAYS POPULAR
    Throughout history, God's faithful people have often been a minority.
    Noah stood with God while the world rejected His message.
    Elijah remained faithful when most of Israel turned away.
    Jesus followed the Father's will even when religious leaders opposed Him.
    God has never measured truth by the size of the crowd.
    "Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil." — Exodus 23:2

    JESUS INVITES US TO FOLLOW HIM
    Jesus did not simply say:
    "Believe in Me."
    He also said:
    "Follow Me." — Matthew 4:19
    If Christ is our Lord, His life becomes our example.
    "Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps." — 1 Peter 2:21

    THE SABBATH POINTS US TO JESUS
    The Sabbath reminds us that Jesus is:
    Our Creator
    Our Redeemer
    Our Lord
    Our Rest
    The Sabbath is not merely about resting from work—it is about drawing closer to Christ, worshipping Him, and remembering His love and power.

    THE REAL QUESTION
    The issue is not simply:
    "Which day is most popular?"
    The real question is:
    "Am I willing to follow Jesus wherever He leads?"
    "If ye love Me, keep My commandments." — John 14:15

    A HEART APPEAL
    Jesus walked the narrow path.
    He invites us to walk with Him.
    The crowd cannot save you.
    Tradition cannot forgive you.
    Religion alone cannot transform you.

    Only Jesus Christ can.
    Choose Christ over popularity.
    Choose Scripture over tradition.
    Choose obedience motivated by love.
    And follow the Lamb wherever He leads.

    "These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth." — Revelation 14:4
    Will you follow Jesus—even when the truth is not popular?

  • HOW TO KNOW GOD'S WILL FOR IMPORTANT DECISIONS IN YOUR LIFE. Part 3 of 6.
    God’s Basic Will for Every Christian. Continued.
    Who would you say such individuals are acknowledging when they make such negative statements as these concerning their sickness, defeat, frustrations, anxieties, and problems–God or Satan? This may explain to you why you are not experiencing more of God's leading in your life, or why it is that you do not know His will in this or that particular situation. Perhaps it is because you are acknowledging the wrong person as the controlling influence in your life and circumstances. Yes, this could very well be the major factor in much of your sickness, problems, frustration, and defeat, for God promises to direct the steps only of those who trust fully in Him, not themselves, and who acknowledge Him and His divine providence in all their ways.

    STUDY 2
    How God Makes Known His Will for Specific Decisions and Needs.

    As incredible as it may seem at first glance, nevertheless, it is true that "the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord" (Ps 37:23). The term "ordered" means literally "establish, or ordain" in the original Hebrew, and is used by David in Psalm 8:3 where he exclaims, "When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained, what is man, that you are mindful of him?"

    The cycles of the moon, the movements of the planets, sun, and stars in their courses, as well as the revolving of the countless galaxies, composed of billions of stars, throughout the universe, are all ordained by God with such precision that scientists can set their watches by the sun or stars, astronomers can predict accurately where a certain heavenly body will be 100 years
    from now, and space scientists can, for example, send a spaceship toward Mars which will arrive many months later exactly on target. It is this same term which is used in Psalm 37:23, where we are told, "the steps of a good man are ordained by the Lord." This means that the same wisdom which ordained the courses of the sun, moon, planets, and stars with such magnificent precision has also ordained the steps of the Christian.

    Thus, we see that God has a plan for every life. When we know His will for our lives, then we can fulfill His plan. God has a plan for everything in the universe which He created: the sun, the moon, and stars; the angels and hosts of heaven; the southern flight of the birds in the winter and their return in the spring; the rise and fall of the tides; the periodic rainfall with the resultant growth of the earth's vegetation; the variation and change of the seasons, and so on. His wisdom, planning, and providential control are evident everywhere, from the delicate
    intricacy of design seen in the falling snowflake to the balance of the earth on its axis in its course around the sun.

    Since God has a preordained plan for everything, would it not, therefore, be strange if He neglected to have a plan for men, whom He created in His own image? And yet, most people, including Christians, live as if God created man, and then more or less left him alone, having only a passing interest in his welfare and condition.

    The Scriptures clearly state that God has a plan for every believers' lives, as seen for example, in such passages as Psalm 37; 91; Proverbs 37:23; Psalm 37:23; Romans 8:28; Ephesians 1; 4:11-15; 5:17. . Nevertheless, Many Christians know nothing of the concept of a God-planned life. These are people who apparently do not know that Jesus promised that a sparrow "shall not fall on the ground without your Father," and that "the very hairs of your head are all numbered" ( Mt. 10:29-30). From their joyless expression and speaking of wretchedness, adversity, and confusion, one would gather that God had saved them only to forsake them, leaving them to struggle along in the world as best they can.

    There are Christians everywhere who seem to have lost their direction, who have made the wrong choices, who are uncertain as to God's will for their lives, who are in the wrong occupation and are unhappy and dissatisfied, who are insecure and afraid, who cannot make a decision without doubt or apprehension concerning whether or not they have done the right thing, and who are frustrated, discouraged, and defeated by circumstances. It is not God's will that any Christian should suffer such bewilderment and defeat. Why? Simply because "the steps of a good man are ordained by the Lord."

    Far too many Christians are living below the level of what God has planned for their lives. He has a perfect plan for you in order for you to fulfill His will; but there is also a permissive will which He allows those to follow who, for one reason or another, reject or neglect to follow His perfect will. So many Christians are living on this lower plane of God's permissive will, which can never bring the joy, peace, accomplishment and fulfillment they are looking for. Often they are accepting a life of frustration, oppression, and poverty because of their ignorance of, or their unwillingness to submit to, God's perfect will for their lives.

    Our lives are only happy and complete when we are moving in God's will, since we lack both the wisdom and foresight to plan our own lives effectively. The Scriptures declare, "O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walks to direct his steps" (Jer.10:23) Isaiah graphically portrays the consequences of man's attempt to plan and direct his own life, saying, "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way" (Isa. 53:6).

    "Does God want me to go back to my wife and attempt to salvage our marriage for the children's sake, or remain separated and try to make the best of it?" a bewildered husband asks.

    "I feel the call of God in my life," confides another. "It seems to be in the mission field. However, I have a family to provide for, and as yet I do not have the support of any missionary society. How can I know what God would have me to do?"

    "Now that I have received the baptism in the Holy Spirit," a young woman asks, "should I remain in my present church, which is not sympathetic toward this experience today, and try to witness my experience there, or should I seek fellowship with Spirit filled Christians in another church?"

    "I must know by the end of the next month whether or not I should renew my lease on my place of business. My wife and I feel that the Lord may be leading us out of this into something else. How can I know for certain just what God would have us do?" asks a man that is pressed for a decision soon.

    "Can I believe God for deliverance from the financial oppression I am suffering?" "Will God heal me of multiple sclerosis, which medical science states to be incurable?" "Is it possible for me to ask in faith for the salvation of my family?" "How can I determine if God would have me to remain in my present employment or ask for something better?" "Should I remain unmarried and thereby be able to serve the Lord more effectively?" "Have I failed God somewhere and missed His will for me, since I seem to be going through so many severe trials in the past few months?"
    "Should we pray for deliverance from our trials?" "How may I determine if I should seek to serve the Lord in some form of religious work, or remain in my present teaching position?" "I am confused about God's will for my life. How may I be sure just what He would have me to do?"

    Questions ... questions ... questions - all from bewildered, confused, sometimes frustrated Christians, earnestly seeking to learn God's will for their lives, or anxious to know His will concerning an important decision they must make in some pressing matter. How can the man who feels God would have him go to the mission field ascertain God's will? Certainly it is an important and crucial decision with which he is faced. It is useless, and even unsafe, for a man to be trying to serve the Lord in India, if God wants him in Indiana. That student will certainly fail who attempts to leave a school where God has placed him, merely because he must undergo certain trials in order to remain.

    Nor will that person ever succeed who, motivated by an enthusiasm to serve the Lord, disposes of his business in order to go preach the gospel, when God desires to use him as a Christian businessman right where he is. He will be as frustrated and out of place as that individual who failed to respond to God's call to preach His Word and accepted something less than God's perfect will for his life. Likewise, when one is not sure whether or not he has made the right decision about some matter in harmony with God's will, it will be terribly difficult to determine, if he finds himself going through trying circumstances, whether these experiences are "trials of his faith," or chastisement for his disobedience.

    How can we be sure just what God's will is in the decisions which confronts us? How can we avoid mistakes and costly blunders? You may be sure of one thing - you do not have to plead
    with God to guide and direct you. Over and over in Scripture He expresses His willingness and desire to give you an understanding of His perfect will for your life. He promises to direct your footsteps day to day. God has pledged Himself to direct each step of your life if you will determine to meet the three-fold condition which He sets forth in Proverbs 3:5-6 of total trust in
    the Lord; a lack of trust in yourself; and a constant statement of these two facts.

    EIGHT SCRIPTURAL METHODS BY WHICH GOD MAKES KNOWN HIS WILL

    It is not unreasonable to believe that if God could create a man in His image that He could also speak to him and communicate His will to him, Inasmuch as God has clearly stated in His
    Word that it is His desire to reveal His will to the believer, and is displeased when we are not walking in harmony with it. We should also expect that He would provide the means for ascertaining it. This He has done. There are, we find, eight scriptural methods for ascertaining God's will – three are notice in which we must take the initiative, and five are passive in which
    we become recipients of divine revelation of His will for us, as seen, for example, in the angel's appearance to Joseph in a dream warning him to flee into Egypt with the child, Jesus. Passive revelation of God's will comes unsought at the Spirit's sovereign discretion, inasmuch as God has promised to direct the steps of those who fulfill the conditions (Prov. 3:5-6).

    At the Altar:
    I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God (Rom. 12:1-2).

    I find that many Christians spend years seeking to learn God's will for their lives. They read books on the subject, hoping to find some clue, they pray for guidance, or they seek help through religious counseling, but they have overlooked God's basic requirement for learning His perfect will – the total commitment of one's life on the altar as a living sacrifice. To comprehend just what God requires for total consecration, it is suggested that the section entitled Go Back to Calvary in the first previous studies be reviewed again, for all that was set forth there is to be applied here as the manner in which Romans 12:1-2 is to be understood and obeyed.

    While it is true that the Christian can ascertain to some degree God's will through prayer, study at His Word, or by other means, nevertheless, total consecration is required to know His perfect
    will, as Romans 12:1-2 clearly indicates. We must learn that we cannot substitute praying for obeying; for without total commitment many precious hours can be wasted praying for a revelation of God's will, or for guidance for our lives in some matter, and heaven will often seem as brass. Why? God is waiting for us to present ourselves as living sacrifices, and climb upon the altar where He can speak with us. He only reveals His perfect will to us when we are upon the altar, for it is only here that we are in a position to hear Him when He speaks. When "self" has been crucified and the life surrendered without reservation, then you will find that the Spirit is frequently speaking inwardly to you, and that you can become quite sensitive to His voice, being able to discern it from your own will, or from the suggestions of the enemy.

    It is a great blessing to know when the Spirit is speaking, and to be able to respond to His leading and prompting, fulfilling God's will instead of wandering aimlessly about confused and, bewildered.

    You will find that you will be sensitive to His voice to the extent your life is consecrated on the altar and you are yielded to the Spirit. And to the extent you are sensitive to His voice you are able to respond when He speaks. God at times, for one reason or another, speaks directly to His children in an audible voice to reveal some matter to them, give them guidance, or make known His will. Generally, however, it is by means of that still, inner voice that He speaks to our spirit, prompting, leading, directing, and influencing, or at times checking us from taking some undesirable course of action.

    God will not reveal His perfect plan and will to a Christian who is not fully yielded unto Him without reservation, for such an individual would be ineffective and unable to fulfill God's purpose in his life. An effective instrument is one that has yielded itself completely to the hand of the one using it. Many Christians feel they have yielded themselves to the Spirit and have consecrated themselves to God, yet they have not always done so without reservation. One individual, for instance, feels that he is consecrated because he is praying for God to send him as a missionary to India, but who at the same time would have no desire for God to use him as a missionary to Indiana! He is consecrated, but not unconditionally; thus, God's perfect will cannot be revealed to him, since it would be impossible for it to be fulfilled in his life.

    Another, with a gift of prophecy prays earnestly to God to fulfill his desire and use him in a great way in a ministry of prophecy like that of Amos or Isaiah, but has little inclination to follow in the steps of a prophet like Lucius, for example. After all, who has ever heard of Lucius outside of the people in the local church at Antioch (Acts 13:1)? Another pleads with God for the gifts and power to slay giants as David, pulling down Satan's strongholds, but would decline to engage in this warfare alone in his closet, on his knees, wrestling with the forces of darkness by prayer and fastings.

    Christians too often come to God and think they are consecrating themselves to Him simply because they say, "Here I am Lord, use me in such and such a place, at such and such a time,
    in such and such a way." Then they wonder why God does not respond to this little genuflection before Him with a mighty out-pouring of His Spirit upon them, or why they seem to have so
    much difficulty in ascertaining His will for their lives. After all, they do wish to serve Him and to be used by Him. Why then are they so often bewildered and ineffective? It is simply because they have not placed themselves on the altar and yielded themselves unconditionally to Him. It is true that God wants to use you to speak His Word; but if you are not fully yielded to Him, then often you will find that you will be speaking the wrong word to the wrong people at the wrong time. An effective instrument is one fully yielded to the purpose of the one using it.

    Therefore, before God can unveil His perfect will for your life day to day, you must first obey that aspect of His will which He has already revealed – total consecration, "for this is the will of God, even your consecration" (1 Th. 4:3). It is only as we present ourselves as living sacrifices that we are shown progressively, day to day, more and more, "what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God" (Rom. 12:1-2). Just as we fellowship and speak with our children God promises to communicate with us and reveal His will, however, it may be that you have been living too far from Him to hear His voice when He speaks. Draw near to Him daily in prayer, love, and obedience, and you will find yourself becoming increasingly sensitive to His voice as He speaks to you.

    In the Word;
    All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

    Those who may be looking for a shortcut or some easy solution to learning the will of God probably will be disappointed to learn that God has already revealed His will for their lives in
    large measure in the Scriptures; and, as a consequence, this means they will have to pay the cost of sacrificing some of their time and interest in other things, and diligently search His Word,
    if they expect Him to speak to them through it.

    In these instances in which Christians with whom I have counseled are bewildered and confused, and are unable to ascertain God's will about some matter, I have found almost invariably that their predicament is the inevitable consequence of not knowing what the Word of God teaches concerning their problem or need. Again and again I have seen Christians pray for a revelation of God's will, or come to me for guidance about some matter, the solution to which is already revealed in God's Word. It is useless to ask God for guidance on matters where He has clearly unfolded His will, if through negligence, or for some other reason, an individual has not bothered to ascertain what He has had to say on the subject.

    If, for example, a Christian woman wishes to marry an unbeliever, hoping to convert him after marriage, she could pray for months for a revelation of God's will in the matter without receiving it, for God is never going to answer such a request as to whether or not this marriage should take place. Why? Simply because He has already revealed His will on this matter in His Word (2 Cor. 6:14). Neither is God going to give that individual the Holy Spirit who prays as some do whom I have heard, saying, "Lord, if the baptism in the Holy Spirit is for me, and if it is your will that I should have it, then somehow show me this fact and I will accept it." God has already revealed in His Word the promise of the Holy Spirit, and states clearly that the baptism will be given to those who, in faith, ask for it (Lk. 11:13).

    Again, many Christians are confused concerning God's will in the matter of sickness. Since they are not firmly grounded in what the Word of God teaches on the subject of healing, then they are unsettled in their minds, believing that it is not always God's will to heal the sick, and that there are some exceptions to His promise that "the prayer of faith shall heal the sick" (Jam. 5:15).
    Because they do not know God's Word as they should on this question, then they do not always know what God's will is in the event of sickness, especially in case of serious illness, and have, therefore, committed themselves to praying the faithless prayer in such instances, "O Lord, if it be thy will I ask that I might be healed somehow, nevertheless, not my will but thine be done." Such apparent resignation to God's will may sound pious, but it most certainly is not scriptural, inasmuch as God has already revealed His will about the matter of sickness in His Word in dozens of passages, such as Mark 16:18, saying, "They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." As incredible as it may seem at first glance, nevertheless, it is true that "the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord" (Ps 37:23). The term "ordered" means literally "establish, or ordain" in the original Hebrew, and is used by David in Psalm 8:3 where he exclaims, "When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained, what is man, that you are mindful of him?" The cycles of the moon, the movements of the planets, sun, and stars in their courses, as well as the revolving of the countless galaxies, composed of billions of stars, throughout the universe, are all ordained by God with such precision that scientists can set their watches by the sun or stars, astronomers can predict accurately where a certain heavenly body will be 100 years from now, and space scientists can, for example, send a spaceship toward Mars which will arrive many months later exactly on target. His wisdom, planning, and providential control are evident everywhere, from the delicate intricacy of design seen in the falling snowflake to the balance of the earth on its axis in its course around the sun. Why? Simply because "the steps of a good man are ordained by the Lord." Far too many Christians are living below the level of what God has planned for their lives. How can I know what God would have me to do?" "Now that I have received the baptism in the Holy Spirit," a young woman asks, "should I remain in my present church, which is not sympathetic toward this experience today, and try to witness my experience there, or should I seek fellowship with Spirit filled Christians in another church?" "I must know by the end of the next month whether or not I should renew my lease on my place of business. My wife and I feel that the Lord may be leading us out of this into something else. How can I know for certain just what God would have us do?" asks a man that is pressed for a decision soon. "Can I believe God for deliverance from the financial oppression I am suffering?" "Will God heal me of multiple sclerosis, which medical science states to be incurable?" "Is it possible for me to ask in faith for the salvation of my family?" "How can I determine if God would have me to remain in my present employment or ask for something better?" "Should I remain unmarried and thereby be able to serve the Lord more effectively?" "Have I failed God somewhere and missed His will for me, since I seem to be going through so many severe trials in the past few months?" "Should we pray for deliverance from our trials?" "How may I determine if I should seek to serve the Lord in some form of religious work, or remain in my present teaching position?" "I am confused about God's will for my life. How may I be sure just what He would have me to do?" Questions ... questions ... questions - all from bewildered, confused, sometimes frustrated Christians, earnestly seeking to learn God's will for their lives, or anxious to know His will concerning an important decision they must make in some pressing matter. You may be sure of one thing - you do not have to plead with God to guide and direct you. Over and over in Scripture He expresses His willingness and desire to give you an understanding of His perfect will for your life. He promises to direct your footsteps day to day. God has pledged Himself to direct each step of your life if you will determine to meet the three-fold condition which He sets forth in Proverbs 3:5-6 of total trust in the Lord; a lack of trust in yourself; and a constant statement of these two facts. EIGHT SCRIPTURAL METHODS BY WHICH GOD MAKES KNOWN HIS WILL It is not unreasonable to believe that if God could create a man in His image that He could also speak to him and communicate His will to him, Inasmuch as God has clearly stated in His Word that it is His desire to reveal His will to the believer, and is displeased when we are not walking in harmony with it. We should also expect that He would provide the means for ascertaining it. This He has done. There are, we find, eight scriptural methods for ascertaining God's will – three are notice in which we must take the initiative, and five are passive in which we become recipients of divine revelation of His will for us, as seen, for example, in the angel's appearance to Joseph in a dream warning him to flee into Egypt with the child, Jesus. Passive revelation of God's will comes unsought at the Spirit's sovereign discretion, inasmuch as God has promised to direct the steps of those who fulfill the conditions (Prov. 3:5-6). At the Altar: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. While it is true that the Christian can ascertain to some degree God's will through prayer, study at His Word, or by other means, nevertheless, total consecration is required to know His perfect will, as Romans 12:1-2 clearly indicates. Christians too often come to God and think they are consecrating themselves to Him simply because they say, "Here I am Lord, use me in such and such a place, at such and such a time, in such and such a way." Then they wonder why God does not respond to this little genuflection before Him with a mighty out-pouring of His Spirit upon them, or why they seem to have so much difficulty in ascertaining His will for their lives. In the Word; All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works (2 Tim. 3:16-17). Those who may be looking for a shortcut or some easy solution to learning the will of God probably will be disappointed to learn that God has already revealed His will for their lives in large measure in the Scriptures; and, as a consequence, this means they will have to pay the cost of sacrificing some of their time and interest in other things, and diligently search His Word, if they expect Him to speak to them through it. 5:15). Because they do not know God's Word as they should on this question, then they do not always know what God's will is in the event of sickness, especially in case of serious illness, and have, therefore, committed themselves to praying the faithless prayer in such instances, "O Lord, if it be thy will I ask that I might be healed somehow, nevertheless, not my will but thine be done." Such apparent resignation to God's will may sound pious, but it most certainly is not scriptural, inasmuch as God has already revealed His will about the matter of sickness in His Word in dozens of passages, such as Mark 16:18, saying, "They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    SATURDAY AUGUST 1, 2O26.
    "TAKE THE PLUNGE (1)"

    ‘…The prudent Wise Basharat considers well his steps.’ Proverbs 14:15 NKJV

    AFTER YOU’VE prayed, planned, and prepared, there comes a point where you’ve got to take the plunge. Is it scary? Absolutely! There are two kinds of people: Those who leap before they look; they are driven by impulse. Then there are those who look, look, and look but never leap; they are controlled by fear. Which are you? To get to the Promised Land, Israel had to cross the River Jordan at flood tide. It must have made the strongest heart skip a beat. God had promised that when the feet of the priests carrying the ark stepped into the water, it would roll back. Can you imagine their thoughts? ‘Couldn’t we wait till the tide goes down? Why do I have to go first? What if the waters don’t roll back and I drown?’ The step between prudence and paranoia is short and steep. Prudence wears a seatbelt; paranoia avoids cars altogether. Prudence washes with soap; paranoia avoids human contact altogether. Prudence saves for old age; paranoia clings to every penny. Prudence prepares and plans; paranoia panics. Prudence calculates the risk and takes the plunge; paranoia never enters the water. To reach your God-ordained destiny, you must stop holding back, obey God, and step into the water. The moment you do, doors will begin to open, and resources will be released, where there now seems to be only a shortage. God will provide the means, the method, and the manpower. So stand on His promise: ‘…I have loved you; therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life. Fear not, for I am with you…’ (Isaiah 43:4-5 NKJV).

    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you... And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath" (JEREMIAH 21:4, 5).*_
    *What would make a loving father to give up on his biological son?*
    *Zedekiah was the reigning king when Jerusalem fell to the Babylonians. He had tried to overrun the invading army of Babylon but his attempt was not approved by God. When the people sought divine help, Jeremiah made it clear to Zedekiah the king, "Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon." In other words, God's answer was an emphatic 'no'. Consequently, the two sons of Zedekiah were slaughtered before his eyes by the Babylonians. His own eyes were blinded and in painful humiliation, he was led away in chains to Babylon where he died later in exile.*
    *The underlying spiritual cause of the fall of Judah and Jerusalem was not so much due to the superior military might of Babylon as to the effect of God's decree against the people because of Manasseh's sin and Judah's apostasy. God never excuses unconfessed sin. He judges and punishes it. There are those with the misguided mind-set that God winks at sin and that grace covers all acts of impropriety. How catastrophically wrong such warped souls are. You can't ride rough shod over His Son's painful death on the cross and expect a soft-glove treatment.*
    *Those who repeatedly reject God's clear reproof and warning, who despise His chastening and correction, run the inevitable risk of excluding themselves from His grace. There is no more plea for mercy when once God's grace is abused and rejected. God's love must not be taken for granted. This dispensation of grace does not give license for carelessness and recalcitrant behaviour.*
    *According to Ellen G. White, "God's people are peculiar. Their spirit cannot mingle with the spirit and influence of the world. You do not wish to bear the Christian name and yet be unworthy of it". Christians are peculiar people because they are saved by God for them to show forth His glory.*
    *Those who are born again, like Joseph in Egypt who faced the challenge of defiling himself with his master's wife, would not yield to the temptation of sinning against God. "How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" said Joseph when his master's wife wanted to dedile him.*
    *You should endeavour to abstain from all forms of lust to retain your peculiarity as a child in the kingdom of God.     *WHEN GOD TURNS TO AN ENEMY OF HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE*
    *TEXT:* JEREMIAH 21:1-14.
    1The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,
    2 Enquire, I pray thee, of the LORD for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that the LORD will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us.
    3 Then said Jeremiah unto them, Thus shall ye say to Zedekiah:
    4 Thus saith the Lord GOD of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.
    5 And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.
    6 And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence.
    7 And afterward, saith the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.
    8 And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
    9 He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.
    10 For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
    11 And touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
    12 O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
    13 Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the valley, and rock of the plain, saith the LORD; which say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?
    14 But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the LORD: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.
    *Timeless Truth:*_"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart_(Jeremiah 29:13).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    What would life have looked like if at your tender age your parents decided to turn to be your adversary?
    God is loving, merciful and longsuffering, yet He is also holy and just. When His chosen people persist in rebellion, reject His warnings and refuse to repent, His protective hand can be withdrawn and He may fight against them instead of for them. Jeremiah 21 records King Zedekiah's desperate appeal for divine intervention when Jerusalem was under siege by Babylon. Rather than promising deliverance, God declared that He Himself would oppose Judah because of their persistent sins. This passage warns believers against insincere repentance and highlights God's justice as well as His mercy toward those who genuinely turn to Him.
    *1. Insincere Seekers Due to Fear of Sufferings*
    a. Years back, Samaria had been captured and sent into captivity by Assyria. The same fate was looming for Judah for the same reasons. King Zedekiah sent messengers to Jeremiah to inquire of the Lord when the Babylonian army threatened Jerusalem. He knew the reason why God wanted to destroy them, but was not willing to bow to God's demands of repentance from all evils that beset them. His request and seeking for God was motivated by fear rather than true repentance. He hoped God would perform another miracle as He had done in previous generations unconditionally.
    b. Many people remember God only when trouble comes. They seek the face of God passionately not because they want to know and serve God, but because they want relief and deliverance from the pains, poverty and all kinds of problems. *"Yet they seek me daily"* (Isaiah 58:2). Their zeal and prayers are only motivated by what they would get from God and not what they would give to God as a mark of love for Him. They want to use God and are not willing for God to use them to His glory. Such are not sincere seekers, but God looks beyond desperate prayers to the condition of the heart. Genuine repentance involves confession, humility and a willingness to obey God, not merely seeking escape from suffering.
    *Question*
    Am I seeking God because I truly love Him or only because I want Him to remove my problems?
    *2. Inhuman Sufferings Due to Fight by the Saviour*
    a. A protracted and unyielding stubbornness will be rewarded with a severe and inhuman punishment that is expected to bring the stubborn to God for his own good. God declared that *"I myself will fight against you (Jerusalem) with my own outstretched hand"*. The weapons of Judah would fail, the city would be handed over to Nebuchadnezzar and pestilence, famine and the sword would consume the people. The One who had always defended Israel would now become their Judge because of their persistent rebellion. No fortress, human wisdom or military strength can stand when God opposes a people. *"For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good"*. It is a fearful thing when the Saviour becomes the One executing judgment against those who reject His commands.
    b. Unfortunately, the king, like all hypocritical seekers, after hearing those terrible pronouncements from God, was not interested in how to reconcile with God in His own terms, but was only interested in the reversal of divine judgments unconditionally. God does not work like that. God seeks a good relationship with man that is based on holiness, righteousness and godly character. *"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him."*. Seek for a genuine relationship and closer walk with God and all the challenges will be taken care of by God.
    *Question*
    Is there any area of persistent disobedience that could bring me into conflict with God's will?
    *3. Incomprehensible Sympathy and Favour for the Sinners*
    a. Even while announcing judgment, God displayed remarkable mercy. *"Behold I set before you the way of life and the way of death"*. God in His incomprehensible love and mercy will always give a window of hope for those who are willing to retrace their steps. Those who surrendered according to His instruction would preserve their lives.
    b. God also called the royal house to execute justice and righteousness before it was too late. The rulers have the greater blame because they were expected to know better. *"O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings"*. His judgments are never without opportunities for repentance. God's compassion shines brightly because He still offers hope, even to those who deserve punishment, if they will humble themselves and obey His voice. Repent now before it is too late.
    *Question*
    Will I respond immediately to God's call to repentance or delay until judgment overtakes me?
    *Prayer Points*
    1.Lord, give me a sincere and obedient heart of worship that is not based on selfish considerations .
    2.Father, convict and purge me from every disobedience that may still be affecting my relationship with You .
    3.Lord, help me to walk in righteousness, justice and complete obedience to Your Word every day .
    4.Lord, visit Your Church and enable all Your people to focus on seeking You and the kingdom of God above all else .
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. ⏤ Colossians 3:17
    To be little with God is to be little for God. ⏤ E.M. Bounds
    We come to Your feet, our Father, to receive Your blessing as we go out into the world. We want to make this a beautiful day. Help us to be diligent and cover us with Your wings of love. Let us not rely on our own understanding or follow the devices and desires of our own deceitful hearts. May we live today in You and for You—honoring You in all that we do and say.
    We humbly seek Your favor upon the work of our hands. Help us to do it well. Save us from all negligence and laziness. We want to honor You even in the most ordinary tasks of this day. May we do everything as if under Your eye and for Your approval. Save us from being satisfied with low standards and help us to do our best, even in the smallest things.
    Sanctify our influence so that we may be a blessing to everyone whose life we touch. Let us not be a hindrance to the good or the joy of anyone. Let us not discourage those who are struggling with hardship, trials, or temptations—but may we instead be encouragers of all whom we meet. May we carry cheer in our faces and inspire cheer in others. Guard our words so that we may speak no unkind words. May our conversation be such that it helps others.
    We pray for our friends, some of whom are carrying heavy burdens. Some are sick. We pray that You will heal and comfort the sick and strengthen those whose loads are too heavy for them to bear. We ask You to care for the poor and all who are in any trouble. Send to us anyone in need whom You would have us befriend or help, or send us to them with a blessing.
    Hear us in our prayers and bless us, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
    *TOPIC:*
    ETERNAL PUNISHMENT.
    *THE MESSAGE:*
    Eternal punishment is the fate of those who reject God's grace. Today's text emphasizes the certainty and urgency of Christ's return. He is coming to reward everyone according to their deeds. What an impartial Judge! Those who accepted God's grace of salvation through Christ and live righteously will have access to the Tree of Life and the gates of the city. They will enjoy God's presence eternally. Alas, those who reject God and indulge in sinful behaviours such as magic arts, sexual immorality, killing of people, idolatry, witchcraft, falsehood, terrorism, kidnapping, armed robbery, and the like, as a lifestyle, will be thrown in hell fire forever. Have you accepted God's grace? If not, repent! Do not be deceived by the notion that a gracious God cannot punish.
    *REFLECTION:*
    Evil doers shall be punished.
    *PRAYER:*
    Father, thank You for the access to eternal life. Amen.
    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    HEBREWS 10:29.
    How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    ISAIAH 63–66.
    ED.ii. HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE
    "The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad." - Psalm 118:24
    Being able to wake up and breathe again this morning is grace from God. God has given us another day to live and God wants us to be happy on this new day. You do not have to wait until you achieve all you want, until you reach your goal; joy is a choice you make. When you get up in the morning, you make a choice to enjoy the day. You decide whether you make your heart a happy heart or whether you allow yourself to be influenced by the difficulties in life.
    If you make the mistake to only look at circumstances, you will miss the blessing God has in store for you. A sad face because you are irritated or angry does not change your situation. If this does not make a difference, then you might as well be happy.
    Start to sing: 'this is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made. We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it.' Or sing: 'I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart. I will enter His courts with praise.' The choice to be happy is yours. You will feel better and it also gives a positive attitude towards faith, which in turn inspires others.
    Stop worrying
    If you want to be happy and joyful, you must stop worrying about how things will go tomorrow or next year or later on. Jesus says in Matthew 6:25-33: 'Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?... Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.' Learn to live day by day. Of course, it is good to make plans, but do not only live in the future, live today and enjoy life.
    2. Evening Prayer for today.
    EP.i. Evening Prayer
    Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. ⏤ Psalm 55:22
    We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties. ⏤ Oswald Chambers
    The shadows have deepened around us, O God, and we draw near to You. As birds fly to their nests when night comes, as little children run home—so we come to You. Receive us and shelter us in Your divine love. We thank You that we have access to You; that although we have sinned, Jesus Christ died for sinners, and the way to You is open. We have no right to come to You except through the mediation of Your Son. In His name, we come, pleading for forgiveness and access.
    May Your blessing be upon all the work of our hands today. It has been imperfect. But may You take it and build it into Your kingdom. You are using the weak things, the base things, and things that are nothing—and You can use even the poor broken fragments of today’s efforts.
    We ask for a special blessing on our home tonight. Bless our home life. May each one of us know our part in making the home beautiful and blessed—and may we all do what we know we should do to bring the fullness of Jesus' peace into our home. May our fellowship as a family become more tender and affectionate. Save us from all bitterness and impatience, from irritability, and from being easily provoked. May our home love be strengthened, and may we learn to live together sweetly.
    We remember our neighbors. You have commanded us to love our neighbors as ourselves. We desire to obey You, and we ask You to teach us this divine love. If we have failed today, forgive us. Grant us more and more of Your love, and then we will be able to love rightly.
    Hear us, O God, in our prayer, and grant us Your holy peace. We ask all this in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🎀💝🎁🌺🌹 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY SATURDAY AUGUST 1, 2O26. "TAKE THE PLUNGE (1)" ‘…The prudent [wise] considers well his steps.’ Proverbs 14:15 NKJV AFTER YOU’VE prayed, planned, and prepared, there comes a point where you’ve got to take the plunge. Is it scary? Absolutely! There are two kinds of people: Those who leap before they look; they are driven by impulse. Then there are those who look, look, and look but never leap; they are controlled by fear. Which are you? To get to the Promised Land, Israel had to cross the River Jordan at flood tide. It must have made the strongest heart skip a beat. God had promised that when the feet of the priests carrying the ark stepped into the water, it would roll back. Can you imagine their thoughts? ‘Couldn’t we wait till the tide goes down? Why do I have to go first? What if the waters don’t roll back and I drown?’ The step between prudence and paranoia is short and steep. Prudence wears a seatbelt; paranoia avoids cars altogether. Prudence washes with soap; paranoia avoids human contact altogether. Prudence saves for old age; paranoia clings to every penny. Prudence prepares and plans; paranoia panics. Prudence calculates the risk and takes the plunge; paranoia never enters the water. To reach your God-ordained destiny, you must stop holding back, obey God, and step into the water. The moment you do, doors will begin to open, and resources will be released, where there now seems to be only a shortage. God will provide the means, the method, and the manpower. So stand on His promise: ‘…I have loved you; therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life. Fear not, for I am with you…’ (Isaiah 43:4-5 NKJV). He had tried to overrun the invading army of Babylon but his attempt was not approved by God. When the people sought divine help, Jeremiah made it clear to Zedekiah the king, "Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon." In other words, God's answer was an emphatic 'no'. Consequently, the two sons of Zedekiah were slaughtered before his eyes by the Babylonians. His own eyes were blinded and in painful humiliation, he was led away in chains to Babylon where he died later in exile.* *The underlying spiritual cause of the fall of Judah and Jerusalem was not so much due to the superior military might of Babylon as to the effect of God's decree against the people because of Manasseh's sin and Judah's apostasy. God never excuses unconfessed sin. He judges and punishes it. There are those with the misguided mind-set that God winks at sin and that grace covers all acts of impropriety. How catastrophically wrong such warped souls are. You can't ride rough shod over His Son's painful death on the cross and expect a soft-glove treatment.* *Those who repeatedly reject God's clear reproof and warning, who despise His chastening and correction, run the inevitable risk of excluding themselves from His grace. There is no more plea for mercy when once God's grace is abused and rejected. God's love must not be taken for granted. Christians are peculiar people because they are saved by God for them to show forth His glory.* *Those who are born again, like Joseph in Egypt who faced the challenge of defiling himself with his master's wife, would not yield to the temptation of sinning against God. "How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" said Joseph when his master's wife wanted to dedile him.* *You should endeavour to abstain from all forms of lust to retain your peculiarity as a child in the kingdom of God. God is loving, merciful and longsuffering, yet He is also holy and just. When His chosen people persist in rebellion, reject His warnings and refuse to repent, His protective hand can be withdrawn and He may fight against them instead of for them. Jeremiah 21 records King Zedekiah's desperate appeal for divine intervention when Jerusalem was under siege by Babylon. Rather than promising deliverance, God declared that He Himself would oppose Judah because of their persistent sins. This passage warns believers against insincere repentance and highlights God's justice as well as His mercy toward those who genuinely turn to Him. *1. Insincere Seekers Due to Fear of Sufferings* a. Years back, Samaria had been captured and sent into captivity by Assyria. The same fate was looming for Judah for the same reasons. King Zedekiah sent messengers to Jeremiah to inquire of the Lord when the Babylonian army threatened Jerusalem. He knew the reason why God wanted to destroy them, but was not willing to bow to God's demands of repentance from all evils that beset them. His request and seeking for God was motivated by fear rather than true repentance. He hoped God would perform another miracle as He had done in previous generations unconditionally. b. Many people remember God only when trouble comes. They seek the face of God passionately not because they want to know and serve God, but because they want relief and deliverance from the pains, poverty and all kinds of problems. *"Yet they seek me daily"* (Isaiah 58:2). Their zeal and prayers are only motivated by what they would get from God and not what they would give to God as a mark of love for Him. They want to use God and are not willing for God to use them to His glory. Such are not sincere seekers, but God looks beyond desperate prayers to the condition of the heart. Genuine repentance involves confession, humility and a willingness to obey God, not merely seeking escape from suffering. *Question* Am I seeking God because I truly love Him or only because I want Him to remove my problems? *2. Inhuman Sufferings Due to Fight by the Saviour* a. A protracted and unyielding stubbornness will be rewarded with a severe and inhuman punishment that is expected to bring the stubborn to God for his own good. God declared that *"I myself will fight against you (Jerusalem) with my own outstretched hand"*. The weapons of Judah would fail, the city would be handed over to Nebuchadnezzar and pestilence, famine and the sword would consume the people. The One who had always defended Israel would now become their Judge because of their persistent rebellion. No fortress, human wisdom or military strength can stand when God opposes a people. *"For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good"*. It is a fearful thing when the Saviour becomes the One executing judgment against those who reject His commands. b. Unfortunately, the king, like all hypocritical seekers, after hearing those terrible pronouncements from God, was not interested in how to reconcile with God in His own terms, but was only interested in the reversal of divine judgments unconditionally. God does not work like that. God seeks a good relationship with man that is based on holiness, righteousness and godly character. *"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him."*. Seek for a genuine relationship and closer walk with God and all the challenges will be taken care of by God. *Question* Is there any area of persistent disobedience that could bring me into conflict with God's will? *3. Incomprehensible Sympathy and Favour for the Sinners* a. Even while announcing judgment, God displayed remarkable mercy. *"Behold I set before you the way of life and the way of death"*. God in His incomprehensible love and mercy will always give a window of hope for those who are willing to retrace their steps. Those who surrendered according to His instruction would preserve their lives. b. God also called the royal house to execute justice and righteousness before it was too late. The rulers have the greater blame because they were expected to know better. *"O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings"*. His judgments are never without opportunities for repentance. God's compassion shines brightly because He still offers hope, even to those who deserve punishment, if they will humble themselves and obey His voice. Repent now before it is too late. *Question* Will I respond immediately to God's call to repentance or delay until judgment overtakes me? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, give me a sincere and obedient heart of worship that is not based on selfish considerations 🙏. 2.Father, convict and purge me from every disobedience that may still be affecting my relationship with You 🙏. 3.Lord, help me to walk in righteousness, justice and complete obedience to Your Word every day 🙏. 4.Lord, visit Your Church and enable all Your people to focus on seeking You and the kingdom of God above all else 🙏. *HYMN:* O Why Not Tonight? *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 1-3. 2. ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST* (COCIN DEVOTIONAL) *DATE:* FRIDAY 31ST JULY 2026. *SUB-THEME:* CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD'S GRACE. *TOPIC:* ETERNAL PUNISHMENT. *TEXT:* REVELATION 22:12–15. 12 “See! I am coming soon! My reward is with Me to repay everyone according to his behavior. Psa 62:12 Jer 17:10 Jer 32:19 Mat 16:27 Rom 2:6 Rom 14:12 1Co 3:8 2Co 5:10 Gal 6:5 Rev 2:23 [Job 34:11] [Pro 24:12] 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Isa 41:4 Isa 44:6 Isa 48:12 Rev 1:8 Rev 1:8 Rev 21:6 Rev 21:6 14 “How blessed are those who wash their robes so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city! 15 Outside are dogs, sorcerers, immoral people, murderers, idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. 1Co 6:10 Eph 5:5 Col 3:5-6 [Zec 14:21] [Gal 5:21] [Col 3:6] [Rev 21:8] *TOPIC:* ETERNAL PUNISHMENT. *THE MESSAGE:* Eternal punishment is the fate of those who reject God's grace. Today's text emphasizes the certainty and urgency of Christ's return. He is coming to reward everyone according to their deeds. What an impartial Judge! Those who accepted God's grace of salvation through Christ and live righteously will have access to the Tree of Life and the gates of the city. They will enjoy God's presence eternally. Alas, those who reject God and indulge in sinful behaviours such as magic arts, sexual immorality, killing of people, idolatry, witchcraft, falsehood, terrorism, kidnapping, armed robbery, and the like, as a lifestyle, will be thrown in hell fire forever. Have you accepted God's grace? If not, repent! Do not be deceived by the notion that a gracious God cannot punish. *REFLECTION:* Evil doers shall be punished. *PRAYER:* Father, thank You for the access to eternal life. Amen. *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:* HEBREWS 10:29. How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace? *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:* ISAIAH 63–66. ED.ii. HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE "The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad." - Psalm 118:24 Being able to wake up and breathe again this morning is grace from God. God has given us another day to live and God wants us to be happy on this new day. You do not have to wait until you achieve all you want, until you reach your goal; joy is a choice you make. When you get up in the morning, you make a choice to enjoy the day. You decide whether you make your heart a happy heart or whether you allow yourself to be influenced by the difficulties in life. If you make the mistake to only look at circumstances, you will miss the blessing God has in store for you. A sad face because you are irritated or angry does not change your situation. If this does not make a difference, then you might as well be happy. Start to sing: 'this is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made. We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it.' Or sing: 'I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart. I will enter His courts with praise.' The choice to be happy is yours. You will feel better and it also gives a positive attitude towards faith, which in turn inspires others. Stop worrying If you want to be happy and joyful, you must stop worrying about how things will go tomorrow or next year or later on. Jesus says in Matthew 6:25-33: 'Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?... Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.' Learn to live day by day. Of course, it is good to make plans, but do not only live in the future, live today and enjoy life. https://www.theblessingdevotional.com 2. Evening Prayer for today. EP.i. Evening Prayer Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. ⏤ Psalm 55:22 We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties. ⏤ Oswald Chambers The shadows have deepened around us, O God, and we draw near to You. As birds fly to their nests when night comes, as little children run home—so we come to You. Receive us and shelter us in Your divine love. We thank You that we have access to You; that although we have sinned, Jesus Christ died for sinners, and the way to You is open. We have no right to come to You except through the mediation of Your Son. In His name, we come, pleading for forgiveness and access. May Your blessing be upon all the work of our hands today. It has been imperfect. But may You take it and build it into Your kingdom. You are using the weak things, the base things, and things that are nothing—and You can use even the poor broken fragments of today’s efforts. We ask for a special blessing on our home tonight. Bless our home life. May each one of us know our part in making the home beautiful and blessed—and may we all do what we know we should do to bring the fullness of Jesus' peace into our home. May our fellowship as a family become more tender and affectionate. Save us from all bitterness and impatience, from irritability, and from being easily provoked. May our home love be strengthened, and may we learn to live together sweetly. We remember our neighbors. You have commanded us to love our neighbors as ourselves. We desire to obey You, and we ask You to teach us this divine love. If we have failed today, forgive us. Grant us more and more of Your love, and then we will be able to love rightly. Hear us, O God, in our prayer, and grant us Your holy peace. We ask all this in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/26/evening #taptapstudio #youdevotion.
