• Masses for the dead
The Catholic saint Odilo was Abbot of Cluny. He had a vision, similar to other Catholic saints or mystics, of souls suffering terribly in purgatory. This vision led him to the unbiblical practice of having special masses said on the behalf of these souls in all the churches affiliated with Cluny. This new practice soon spread.

Do You Love God with Passion?

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. Philippians 3:13

For what do you really have passion? Nobody succeeds at anything for which he doesn’t have passion. So, what is it in your life? Whether it is art, painting ceramics, football, basketball, old books, history, or seeking God, without passion you dawdle through life, much as someone who goes through a cafeteria or smorgasbord sampling little bits of many things without getting anything which really satisfies.

I never cease to be amazed at the wide diversity of things for which people have passion, things that are of little interest to me but have consumed a lifetime of interest and a large portion of their resources for others.

Being passionate about someone—whether it is your husband or wife–or growing tropical orchids, is not quite the same thing as having a passion or a strong desire for something. Jesus was challenged once by a man who was sent by the Pharisees to test Him, saying that the greatest commandment in the Bible is to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37). Eugene Peterson paraphrases His words, saying, “Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence” (The Message).

Question: thinking about your passions, the things that really drive you, how great is your passion for God? The very question may create some concern in your heart in that we often think of individuals who have a passion for God as being somewhat quaint and eccentric. “Yes,” we think, “that’s OK for mystics and recluses who go into monasteries and convents, who shut themselves away from the world. That’s how people with a passion for God should be treated.”

But what of a businessperson who has a passion for knowing God, who also believes that what drives him to know God also energizes him to do what he believes God wants him to do? That passion for God is the outworking of his work ethic that makes him succeed where others fail. He remembers Paul’s admonition, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” (Colossians 3:23).

And what of the single mother whose husband walked out on her, leaving her with three children to raise without much support? Did passion leave when her husband packed up and walked out? Not necessarily. I have known single women who experienced the resources of God, throwing themselves completely on Him, who—yes—loved God with passion, and experienced His provision in ways they never thought possible.

Loving God with passion means that you have made Him Lord of all your life, not simply an appendage that is tacked on to the multiplicity of tasks and responsibilities you have. It means making Him a priority, not a possibility, taking time to nourish a relationship with Him day in and day out.

Now, having passion for God doesn’t replace or displace passion in your personal life or having passion for what God has called you to do. To the contrary, it means you do a better job of whatever it is you have been called to do.

With Paul, you have laid hold of that for which God laid hold of you, and with passion you live out your life and do His will.

Without passion which drives your life, you never really succeed at anything, but when you make Him a priority and learn He is a good God and love Him, you will discover a passion for God is a flame which cannot be extinguished, a light which will never go out, and a ove that will never be disappointed.

Without passion, life becomes dull and blah.

  • I wanted to give those who've been watching my Ancient Paganism class a 'heads up.' Here are the upcoming classes. The picture is of the class I usually teach after this one. I'll have to get them all recorded and will get the next one up asap. I got behind, due to a spider bite. (If I turn into Spider Woman, it may be faster... but don't hold your breath... LOL)

The teaching on 3rd Corinthians is a two-part, but it may be stretched over shorter lessons. The first part explains what the book is, where it came from, why it's used, why it's not in the cannon, and why they think the Apostle Paul wrote it.

Part two is a straight up head-to-head with Paul and the Gnostics (Modern New Age Religion is a total re-pop of that).

These last few Ancient Paganism classes, touch on it, then those lessons just continue to build on it. If you're enjoying it, let me know. I've had some of my other classes be asked to be recorded and posted too, so I'll work on those next. One is an Apologetics class Norm Geisler gave me before he passed away. Its good. He was one of the leading apologetic teachers in the world, to my knowledge.

The other is another power point I put together from more of Dr. Ken Johnson's work (by permission), on False Religions. Its good too.

Thanks for the support. I used to teach these in person, in small groups. It's amazing how over the different platforms how many are watching some of them. People are growing hungry for the truth in a world gone mad. Most will reject it, but not all.

Its continually upon me to 'work while it is day... because the night cometh, when no man (or crazy red-headed ladies) can work.

    Chapter 22:
    Gnostics: Naming Names & Practices
    Egyptian Essenes vs Jewish Essenes

    Chapter 23:

    … The Coming of a New Age…

    Chapter 24:

The Coming Of A New Age
Reiki, Occultic Centering, Yoga, Eckander Mystics, ect

    Chapter 25:
    Druids & The Labyrinth
    Emergent Church

    Chapter 26:
    Emergent Church Continued:
    Labyrinths, Dangers of Meditation,
Contemplative Prayer, Prayer Stations with Icons

  • History Channel vs. Bible Prophecy: Truth or Deception?
A Wake-Up Message for This Final Generation.

The History Channel’s episode “Bible Secrets Revealed: Mysterious Prophecies” is being watched by millions… but what most will never realize is that it is one of the clearest examples of why we CANNOT trust television to interpret the Word of God.

The enemy knows prophecy shakes people awake.
So he hires Hollywood to put them back to sleep.

    Let’s break it down.

    ACCURACY RATING

20–30% true (dates, archaeology, Roman occupation)

70–80% false or misleading (doctrine, theology, prophetic interpretation)

    Television mixes truth with error—
God gives truth unmixed with error.

    1. Prophecy Presented as “Mystical” or “Human Imagination”

They say prophecy is coded myths and ancient fears.
    But the Bible declares:

“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”
    Amos 3:7

    God’s prophets are not mystics—
    They are Heaven’s messengers.

    2. Jesus’ Messiahship Called a Later Invention

They claim the early Christians “forced” Jesus into prophecy.
    This is false.

Jesus fulfilled Scripture openly, historically, and precisely.
Over 300 prophecies fulfilled in His life.

“Search the scriptures… they are they which testify of Me.”
    John 5:39

    * The problem isn’t that prophecy is unclear.
The problem is that television refuses to believe it.

    3. Biblical Prophets Reduced to Social Critics

They say prophets were activists or political commentators.

    But Scripture says:
“Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
    2 Peter 1:21

    God’s prophets heard His voice—
    Not the news cycle.

    4. Daniel Repackaged as Human Literature

They say Daniel wrote “in response to oppression.”
    Not true.

Daniel foretold Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome…
    Centuries ahead of time.
No human guessing can explain that.

    Only divine revelation.

    5. Rapture Confusion Promoted

They merge rapture myths into biblical texts.

    But Jesus taught:
    • A visible return
    • An audible return
    • A global return
    (Matthew 24:27–31)

No secret return. No vanishing saints.

    * The secret rapture is a secret only because it’s not in the Bible.

    6. Revelation Treated as Political Commentary

They claim Revelation is code language against Rome.

    But Revelation is:

    * Christ’s last warning

    * The great controversy revealed

    * The Mark of the Beast exposed

    *The Three Angels’ Messages proclaimed

    * God’s remnant identified

    Hollywood sees conspiracy.
    Heaven reveals prophecy.

    7. Ezekiel Portrayed as Unstable or Mystical

They call his visions wild hallucinations.

    But the Bible says:
“the hand of the LORD was upon me.”
    Ezekiel 1:3

    When men deny inspiration,
they attack the messenger to silence the message.

    Why This Matters

    Television is not neutral.
    It’s not harmless.
    It’s not educational.

It is a tool shaping the world to distrust Scripture.
And prophecy says this will intensify.

“Satan uses every means to prevent men from obtaining a knowledge of the Bible.”
    (Great Controversy 593)

    This episode is proof.

The Gospel TV Will Never Preach

    They will not preach repentance.
    They will not preach obedience.
    They will not preach judgment.
They will not preach victory over sin.
They will not preach the commandments of God.
They will not preach the faith of Jesus.

    But Heaven does.

    THE THREE ANGELS’ MESSAGES

    * FIRST ANGEL:
Fear God. Give glory to Him.
The judgment has begun. (Revelation 14:7)

    * SECOND ANGEL:
Babylon (false religion) is fallen. (Revelation 14:8)

    * THIRD ANGEL:
Do NOT receive the mark of the beast.
Stand firm in faith and obedience. (Revelation 14:9–12)

No documentary will warn you about this.
    Only God’s final movement will.

    The Remnant Church in Prophecy

Revelation 12:17 clearly identifies the final people of God:

They keep the commandments of God

They have the testimony of Jesus (Revelation 19:10 – the spirit of prophecy)

Only one global movement fulfills these prophetic marks.
One church raised up at the right time in earth’s history.

    The Seventh-day Adventist Church.
    Not because of superiority

but because of prophetic identity and calling.

    We are not better.
    We are burdened.
    We are not exalted.
    We are entrusted.
    We are not proud.
    We are prophetic.

This is the message the world must hear before it’s too late.

    FINAL APPEAL

Beloved, do not let Hollywood interpret the Bible for you.
Do not let secular minds explain spiritual things.
Do not let entertainment replace revelation.

We are in the final moments.
    Prophecy is fulfilling.
The last message of mercy is sounding.
    Christ is preparing to return.

“Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
    Revelation 14:12

    Choose the Lamb.
    Choose His truth.
    Choose His people.
    Choose eternal life.

FOOTNOTE (Spirit of Prophecy: Media & the Mind)

Ellen G. White repeatedly warns that the mind becomes what it watches, hears, and dwells upon. She writes that when we feed on worldly amusements, the heart becomes hardened, the conscience grows dull, and spiritual things lose their appeal. Entertainment gradually transforms us into “haters of the Word, rather than lovers of the Word,” because Satan uses media to crowd out prayer, Bible study, and holiness. She teaches that the imagination is the “workshop of Satan” when left to worldly influences, and that the enemy fills the mind with “that which corrupts, degrades, and destroys spiritual power.” God calls His people to guard the avenues of the soul—what we watch, listen to, and absorb—lest we be shaped by the world instead of the Word.

  • SEEKING REFUGE FROM STRAINS OF EVERYDAY LIFE.

At every state of our lives, we set goals for ourselves and spend time working toward these goals. We may seek to establish ourselves in the world, become physically fit and healthy, amass wealth and possessions, forge strong relationships, or excel in other areas. Looking at our lives, we find that we are stuck in a web of worldly-affairs. Living at the level of our physical senses, we believe that all we experience through our senses is real. We become attached to attractions that adorn this worldly stage, pinning our happiness on what we believe will bring us physical, emotional, and intellectual benefits and joy.

Few people find contentment and peace when they live to gather only material gains. But too many leave the world before they can find that peace. However; we must awaken to the temporary nature of everything in this material world. If we are to lead life as it should be lived, we must follow the blueprint offered to us by the saints and mystics.

The spiritual path calls on us to make the most of the rare opportunity, we have been given in this human body so our soul can find its way back to God. However, the path Godward does not require that we negate life. We can enjoy this world's beauty, attractions, and bounty, but we should not become attached to them. To find t he perpetual happiness we seek, we must attach ourselves to the Almighty. To do so, we need to learn to move our attention from the outer world to the inner world through meditation. As we do so, our soul connects with the Divine light and embarks on the journey within.

Through meditation, when we go on this journey into the inner worlds, we tap into the source of all love, joy, and happiness. The divine nectar of the Creator's love is ever-present in the worlds within. It is up to us to partake of this sweet nectar, and we can do so as we sit in silence and withdraw our attention from the outer world and focus it on the inner worlds. Contact with the Supreme Being's love nourishes the parched soul, which blossoms forth to reveal its pristine beauty. Through meditation, we realize God's presence in our lives, and when this happens, all worry and fear dissipate, and happiness and joy overtake our being.

As we withdraw our attention from the outer world and focus it within, we can connect with the Divine's love and nourish our soul. This is the grand purpose for which we were given this human existence. We need to use this golden opportunity to help our soul find its way back to God so that the light of the soul merges again into the Light, just as the waves of the ocean merge into the ocean. Our private inner retreat can be accessed through meditation, and it serves as our refuge from the stresses and strains of everyday life.

  • BE THANKFUL FOR HAND OF GOD THAT SUPPORT US.

Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for the immense blessings in our lives. We must first and foremost, give thanks to the One who brought creation into being. The Divine’s unseen hand supports us every moment of our lives, and for this, we must be grateful. We need to be thankful to the Almighty with every breath in this human existence. It is only because of His grace that we have this human birth — a golden opportunity for our soul, which has been separated from its Source for eons, to extricate itself from the wheel of transmigration and return to God’s abode.

Second, we should be thankful for the grace and guidance we receive from our spiritual masters so that we can fulfil the purpose for which God bestowed this human existence on us. We must show our gratitude for gains we receive in the spiritual arena, which positively impact every other aspect of our lives. Pain and suffering are a part of being human. Each of us has to go through the ups and downs of life dictated by our karmic inheritance. Yet, spiritual masters dedicate their lives to relieving the suffering of humanity. They come to address the need of times, and give of themselves, selflessly, with no concern for their own well-being, so that we, souls in their care can be guided towards the Light of God.

Humanity has a long history of exploration of our physical world, particularly our interest in unravelling mysteries of outer space. There is much beauty we observe under the star-lit canopy of the night sky, and we have invested vast resources to expand our knowledge what lies in skies above, beyond what the eye can see. Saints and mystics talk about another type of exploration — that of inner space and inner skies, which leads us to worlds of beauty far greater than anything we could experience in this physical world.

Each step of the spiritual journey unfolds yet another aspect of creation and love of God. Veils of matter an illusion currently cover the beauty of His love and Light. But, as we progress in the inner regions, these veils are lifted, and we experience the ever-increasing beauty and majesty of the Divine.

Unlike beauty of the outer world that must be recorded to be remembered, experiences of beauty in inner realms stay with us for long periods. These gains in spiritual realms are everlasting. In the stillness of the body and mind, we develop a connection that uplifts us, enthrals us, and brings us closer to God. We begin to anchor ourselves in the stability of this divine love, which allows us to face ups and downs of life on an even keel.

Next, our parents deserve our thanks and gratitude for all they have done to help us grow and become the people we are. Everyone that has enriched our lives in some manner deserves our thanks. In all circumstances, we must remember, however, that behind all that we receive is invisible hand of God, the ultimate giver.

BE THANKFUL FOR HAND OF GOD THAT SUPPORT US.
