  • This was a part of Sabbaths at home Bible study

    Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
    Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
    For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
    Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
    Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
    And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
    Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
    And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
    Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

    This was part of my at home Bible study with my wife and our brother from our church. Some people know the we need to daily put on the full armor of God we need to strengthen ourselves so we can have God help us keep on our armor so we can defeat Satan and his followers.

    Ephesians 6:10-13 (KJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

    We need to be strong by putting on the whole armor of God, not just one or two pieces of armor but all of it.
    We are not fighting against normal things but we are constantly in a Spiritual battle. We are not fighting against man, we are as I said before we are fighting against Satan and all the evil spirits and his minoins.

    Ephesians 6:14-15 (KJV) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
    And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

    We need to have truth on our sides, that why we need to have on the belt of truth and we also need to have on the breastplate of rightousness, in other words we need to be in the truth which is the word of God and we need righteousness on our side because with out righteousness we are lost and following the wrong truth and we need to be righteous in Christ because Christ is the most righteous man that I know and the only true righteous man in the world. And we also need to know the word of God so the He will help us to fight all of the evil spirits of Satan and his minions.

    Ephesians 6:16-18 (KJV) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
    And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
    Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

    And in verse 16 where it says " Above all taking the shield of faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the first darts of the Wicked" that verse remindes me about where in Matthew 4:1-11 and Luke 4:1-13 where Christ was in the desert fasting and when Satan came up to him three times to tempt Him. But Christ had the shield of faith with which was His faith that He fought against Satan or all the firey darts Christ fought Satan of with which was the word of God and with the truth or scriptures. So we need to have the shield of faith to fight of all the evil in this world. And we also need the truth in us to know about the all the false teaching and teachers that are in this world and they are always trying to mislead the followers of Christ do we need to have on the helmet of salvation in other words we need to have the word of God in our minds and we need to know our Bible so we need to read it and study it every day and we need to stay in prayer daily.

    We must feel our need

    There are certain conditions upon which we expect that God will here and answer our prayers. One of the first of these is that we feel the need of help from Him. He has promised"I will pour water upon him that is thirsty,and floods upon the dry ground" (Isaiah 44:3). Though who hunger and thirsty after rightousness, who long after God, may sure that they will be filled.

  • This scripture is from the book of Isaiah

    Isaiah 32:1-8 (KJV) Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.
    And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
    And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.
    The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
    The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.
    For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
    The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.
    But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.

    The shadow of the great rock

    When the darkness is deepest, the light of the godlike character will shine the brightest. When every trust fails, then it will be soon whom have an advising trust in Jehovah. And while the enemies of truth are on every side , watching the Lord's servant for evil, God will watch over them for good. He will be to them as the shadow of a great rock Ina weary land.

    Isaiah 32:14-19 (KJV) Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;
    Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
    Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
    And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
    And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;
    When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.

    To sow besides all water means a countioual imparting of God's gifts. It means giving whenever the cause of God or the needs of humanity demands our aid. This will not tend to poverty.
