THRONEROOM SHOFAR DEVOTIONAL 7th September, 2026 THE EXTRA OIL Matthew 25:1–13 Jesus tells the story of ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five were wise and five were foolish. The difference was not that some had lamps and others did not. All ten had lamps. All ten were waiting. All ten became sleepy. But only five carried extra oil. The extra oil represents the preparation that goes beyond what is immediately necessary. There is a level of Christianity that is sustained only by what you need for today. But there is another level where you carry something within you for tomorrow. The wise did not prepare for the moment; they prepared for the delay. Sometimes God delays not because He has forgotten you, but because He is preparing you for a moment that requires more oil. Your present oil may be enough for today's assignment, but what about tomorrow's battle? What about the season when the answer seems delayed? What about the midnight hour when everybody around you is looking for light? You need extra oil. Extra prayer when you don't feel like praying. Extra faith when circumstances contradict God's promise. Extra Word when emotions become unstable. Extra consecration when compromise becomes attractive. Extra wisdom when opportunities suddenly appear. Extra spiritual strength when the waiting becomes long. The foolish virgins discovered something frightening: you cannot borrow preparation at the last minute. When the cry came at midnight, everyone woke up. The difference was already settled before the midnight hour came. The wise had prepared beforehand. Therefore, don't wait until the crisis comes before you build your prayer life. Don't wait until the door opens before you prepare for the opportunity. Don't wait until the battle begins before you strengthen your faith. Carry extra oil. There are doors God will open suddenly. There are divine assignments that will require more grace than you presently think you need. There are midnight moments when your lamp must continue burning. Your greatest preparation may be happening in a season nobody is watching. Keep praying. Keep studying the Word. Keep your heart pure. Keep your altar burning. Keep your faith alive. Keep oil in your vessel. Because the Bridegroom is coming, and blessed is the person whose lamp is burning when He arrives. TODAY'S DECLARATION I will not run on empty. My lamp will not go out. I receive fresh grace for today and extra oil for tomorrow. I will be prepared for every divine opportunity and every spiritual assignment. My fire will not die in the waiting. My faith will not fail in the midnight hour. I carry extra oil! In Jesus' name. Amen. THRONEROOM SHOFAR DEVOTIONAL Saturday, 5th September 2026 THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS GOD “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1 Before there was a beginning, the Word already was. The Word was not created. The Word did not begin when Bethlehem happened. Before the manger, before Abraham, before Moses, before the heavens and the earth, the Word already existed. And John reveals something profound: “The Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The Word was with God - revealing relationship, fellowship and divine communion. The Word was God - revealing identity, nature and divinity. Then John 1:14 tells us: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” The invisible God stepped into visible humanity. The eternal Word became flesh. Jesus is not merely someone who speaks God's Word; He is the Word made flesh. This changes how we approach Scripture. When we open the Word, we are not merely reading information, we are encountering the revelation of God. His Word carries His nature, His authority and His life. That is why John 1:4 says, “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” When the Word enters a dark place, light comes. When the Word enters confusion, clarity comes. When the Word enters dead situations, life comes. Child of God, never underestimate the Word you carry. The same Word through whom all things were made (John 1:3) lives in you through Christ. Today, don't merely hear the Word—become a living expression of it. QUOTE “When the Word lives in you, you don't just carry a message, you carry the presence, life and light of God.” PROPHETIC DECLARATION The Word that was with God and was God is now at work in me. I carry His life, His light and His authority. Wherever I go, darkness must give way to light! PRAYER Lord Jesus, Eternal Word, reveal Yourself to me through Your Word. Let Your life, light and authority be manifested through me. Make my life a living expression of Your Word. THRONEROOM SHOFAR DEVOTIONAL 3rd September 2026 MY CUP RUNS OVER “My cup runneth over.” Psalm 23:5 (KJV) There is a dimension of God’s blessing where you are no longer asking, “Will there be enough?” You begin to testify, “There is more than enough!” David did not say, “My cup is full.” He said, “My cup runs over.” A full cup speaks of sufficiency; an overflowing cup speaks of abundance, surplus, and divine overflow. God does not merely want to sustain you; He wants your life to become a channel through which His goodness reaches others. What God pours into you is not designed to stop with you. Notice the order in Psalm 23. The Shepherd prepares a table in the presence of your enemies, anoints your head with oil, and then the cup overflows. Your overflow does not require the absence of opposition. You can overflow while enemies are watching. Your cup may have been empty yesterday. You may have experienced seasons of lack, disappointment, rejection, or delay. But the Shepherd is still with you. The same God who led David through the valley can bring him to a table. The same God who sustained you in scarcity can bring you into overflow. This is your season of overflow! Overflow of grace. Overflow of wisdom. Overflow of favour. Overflow of peace. Overflow of resources. Overflow of divine opportunities. And when your cup runs over, don't apologize for the abundance of God upon your life. What He pours, He pours for a purpose. QUOTE “When the Shepherd is your source, overflow is not an accident; it is the evidence of His presence.” PRAYER Father, let my cup run over with Your goodness, grace, favour, wisdom and provision. Make my life a vessel of blessing to others. Bring me from survival into overflow, and let everything You place in my hands bring glory to Your name. THRONEROOM DEVOTIONAL MEASURING FOR GROWTH Faith grows through hardship if we choose to believe that God is always working for our good. June 4, 2025 Ephesians 4:14-16 In today’s reading, Paul writes, “We are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head” (Eph. 4:15). As believers, we should constantly strive to grow closer to God. When He is the Lord of our life, certain characteristics will be evident. Here are two spiritual benchmarks to help us evaluate our progress: 1. We know we’re growing spiritually when we become increasingly aware of our sinfulness and respond with quick repentance. Failure to deal with sin is rebellion against God. Growing believers turn away from wrongdoing and embrace righteousness. As we live a life of dependence and repentance, our desire to obey God intensifies and the attraction of sin diminishes. 2. Spiritual growth is also marked by an increase in two things; JOY and STRUGGLE. Faith is often developed through hardship; in fact, we will more easily grasp how they are connected when we practice living with trust and endurance. So our relationship with the Lord will deepen when we view trials and temptations as opportunities for us to mature (James 1:2-4). The sovereign God is the gatekeeper of our life. We are maturing when we perceive whatever comes our way as being allowed by our Father and realize He’s working every situation for good. PRAYER: Father, may I grow in this situation. I refuse to go through this situation in vain. I grow in Strength, stamina, and faith in Jesus name.
