Single Sign-On (SSO) is a key authentication that improves security, minimizes friction for users, and makes it easier to manage IT. It allows a user to use the same set of credentials to log in to different applications, minimizing password fatigue, and decreasing credential-based attacks such as phishing and brute-force. Organizations enjoy seamless access control, enhanced compliance, and lower costs for password resets. However, since SSO involves centralization of authentication, an attack would have far-reaching impacts. Therefore, to manage the risk of it, enterprises ought to embrace Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), uphold least privilege, and employ real-time security monitoring for protection of user identities.
