  • Heavenly Father,

In this midnight hour, we declare that blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

We lift up the continent of South America, especially the nation of Chile.

Lord, turn this nation toward You. Let Chile be a nation that acknowledges You as Lord.

Raise up leaders, pastors, and believers who will stand for righteousness and truth.

Let revival begin in homes, churches, and communities.

Break every stronghold of darkness and establish Your light across this land.

Let Your presence dwell in this nation and bring transformation.

  • Today's Readings are from the Book of Judges 21 | Acts 28

Overviews Are Below (PLEASE READ YOUR BIBLE: Overviews Do Not Replace Daily Reading)

    Judges 21

The Tragic End of a Nation Without a King

Judges 21 concludes the book with a chapter that is both heartbreaking and revealing. The civil conflict of the previous chapter has ended, but its consequences remain. The tribe of Benjamin has been nearly destroyed, and the nation now faces a new crisis. What began as an attempt to deal with sin has created wounds that expose how deeply broken Israel has become.

The people grieve over the possibility of losing an entire tribe from among God’s covenant people. Yet instead of seeking God’s wisdom fully, they continue attempting to solve spiritual problems through human reasoning. Their efforts to preserve Benjamin reveal both sincere concern and flawed judgment. The solutions they devise create additional complications, demonstrating that human wisdom alone cannot repair the damage caused by sin.

Throughout the chapter, there is a sense of confusion and instability. The people desire the right outcome, but they lack clear spiritual leadership and consistent dependence upon the Lord. This is the culmination of the theme that has run throughout Judges. The nation has drifted so far from God’s design that even its attempts at correction are marked by disorder.

The final statement of the book summarizes everything that has taken place. There is no king in Israel, and everyone does what is right in their own eyes. This is not merely a description of political conditions; it is a diagnosis of spiritual reality. The deepest problem in Israel is not military weakness, foreign oppression, or social disorder. The deepest problem is the absence of godly leadership and wholehearted submission to the Lord.

Theologically, Judges 21 leaves the reader longing for something greater. The repeated cycles of sin, compromise, oppression, and temporary deliverance have shown that human leaders cannot ultimately solve the problem of the human heart. Israel does not simply need another judge; it needs a righteous King.

This chapter points directly to Christ. The entire book of Judges creates anticipation for the One who would come to rule with perfect justice, mercy, and truth. Jesus is the King Israel needed and the King humanity needs. Where human leadership fails, Christ succeeds. Where people do what is right in their own eyes, Christ reveals what is truly right before God. Where sin brings chaos and division, Christ brings redemption and peace.

For believers today, Judges 21 serves as both a warning and an invitation. It warns us of the consequences of living according to our own wisdom rather than God’s truth. It reminds us that sincerity alone is not enough when disconnected from obedience to God. At the same time, it points us to the hope found in Christ. We are not left to navigate life according to our own understanding. We have a King who leads perfectly, loves faithfully, and rules righteously. In Christ, we find the leadership, truth, and redemption that Israel longed for and that every human heart ultimately needs.

    Acts 28

The Unstoppable Advance of the Christ

Acts chapter 28 brings the book of Acts to its powerful conclusion, revealing that the redemptive plan of the Christ, the Son of God, continues forward without limitation. What began with a small group has now extended across regions and into the heart of influence, demonstrating that nothing can stop the work of God.

The chapter opens with arrival after the storm, where what seemed like disaster becomes a place of provision and unexpected opportunity. This reflects the faithfulness of the Christ—He not only brings His people through difficulty but also positions them for continued purpose. Even in unfamiliar places, the Son of God is at work, preparing hearts and creating moments for His truth to be revealed.

An immediate challenge arises, yet it is met without fear. What could have been seen as a sign of harm instead becomes a testimony of protection. This moment highlights the authority of the Christ over every circumstance, including danger. The redemptive plan is not fragile; it is upheld by the power of God. Christian living includes walking in confidence, knowing that our lives are in His hands.

As the time continues, opportunities for ministry unfold naturally. Healing, restoration, and care for others become evident, reflecting the heart of the Christ. The Son of God not only saves but restores, bringing wholeness where there is brokenness. This reveals that the redemptive plan is both spiritual and practical, touching every aspect of life.

Eventually, the journey continues toward a significant destination. What has been promised is now being fulfilled. The Christ has been guiding every step, ensuring that His servant reaches the place appointed. This demonstrates that God’s purposes are precise—nothing is accidental, and every step is directed.

Upon arrival, there is an immediate focus on sharing the truth. The message of the Christ is presented clearly and consistently, rooted in the fulfillment of God’s promises. Some receive it, while others reject it. This response reflects a consistent pattern—the truth of the Son of God invites a decision. The redemptive plan is offered to all, but it must be personally received.

Even in limitation, the mission continues. What appears to be restriction becomes a platform. The Christ uses every circumstance to ensure that His message reaches others. There is boldness, consistency, and unwavering commitment to proclaiming the truth. This shows that the advance of the gospel is not dependent on freedom of movement, but on faithfulness to the calling.

Acts 28 closes without a traditional ending, emphasizing that the work of the Christ is ongoing. The redemptive plan did not end with these events—it continues through every generation. The Son of God is still building His church, still transforming lives, and still sending His people.

For believers today, this chapter calls us to live with the same confidence and purpose. Christian living is marked by faithfulness in every circumstance, whether in freedom or limitation. We are reminded that the Christ is always at work, opening doors and using our lives for His glory. As we remain committed to Him, we become part of the ongoing redemptive plan, carrying His truth forward with boldness, knowing that nothing can stop the work of the Son of God.
