  • Romans 5: 8
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
    ‭‭
    Understanding the scripture

    1. “But God demonstrates His own love for us” Love is a verb. Love should be expressed in actions and not just words. And God proved the depth of His love for us by sending His son Jesus to die for us.
    2. See verses romans 5: 6, 7; Humanity was helpless, ungodly, and sinful. Struggling and failing miserably. “But God” shows divine intervention. Salvation begins with God, not us. If God loved us when we were at our worst, how much more will He care for us now that we are His!
    3. “for us” His death for us was Personal and intentional, not general love for humanity alone—but for you individuallyJesus didn’t die randomly—He died with you in mind
    4. “Christ died for us” everyone had sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No man was eligible for taking someone’s place in sacrifice for sins! Everyone born of Adam was condemned to eternal death, because the price of sin is death. Jesus came as a man, born of a virgin and found without sin offered himself to be an atoning sacrifice. Only Jesus died for our redemption and salvation is through Jesus alone!
