  • Finding Hope in the Unexpected

Christmas stories are everywhere. We have our family stories and the true accounts of Christmas from the Bible, but there are also amazing historical accounts. One of my favorites is the story behind the Christmas carol, “Silent Night,” because it’s a powerful reminder how God can show up in a powerful, unexpected way.

As the story goes, it was Christmas Eve, 1918, at St. Nicholas Church in Oberndorf, Austria. The organ broke down. The repairman couldn’t get there in time for midnight mass, so the priest, Joseph Mohr, and the organist, Franz Gruber, had a problem. What started as a complete train wreck led to a beautiful solution. Mohr gave Gruber lyrics he’d written two years earlier, and Gruber composed a melody for them right there on his guitar.

That simple melody, born out of a technical failure, began to spread. It traveled across the world and, today, “Silent Night” is sung in over 300 languages and is the world’s most recorded Christmas song.

What you think is failure may the start of something beautiful. Trust Him who has plans for your future.

Fixing God’s Word on Your Heart

    Scripture

    Deuteronomy 11:18 (NKJV)
Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

Keeping God’s Word at the Center of Life

Deuteronomy chapter 11 is a powerful call to remember God’s faithfulness and to live in wholehearted obedience. Moses reminds Israel of everything they witnessed—the miracles in Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea, God’s discipline, and His daily provision in the wilderness.

After reminding them of God’s works, Moses gives a clear instruction in verse 18:
Lay up God’s Word in your heart and soul.

    This means:

    Make God’s Word your foundation.

Keep it in your thoughts and decisions.

    Let it shape your actions.

    Teach it to your children.

Build your life around it, not beside it.

Binding God’s Word on the hand symbolizes letting Scripture guide what we do.
Binding it between the eyes symbolizes letting Scripture guide how we think.

For believers today, this verse challenges us to make the Word of God more than something we read—it must become something we live. When God’s Word is central, our choices, attitudes, and direction change. Obedience becomes easier. Faith becomes stronger. Our walk becomes more consistent.

    Reflection Questions

    1. Is God’s Word truly guiding my thoughts and actions each day?

    2. How can I fix Scripture more deeply into my heart and mind?

    3. Am I teaching and sharing God’s Word with those around me—especially my family?

    Prayer

Lord God, help me to lay up Your Word in my heart and soul. Let Scripture guide my thoughts, my decisions, and my steps. Teach me to love Your Word and to apply it daily. Strengthen me to build my life on Your truth. In Jesus name, Amen.

We are a portion of heaven on earth.

Who have you shared your joy with today?

In a world where so many are pretending,
Are you brave enough to follow the One True Chist?

  • Some people may not understand why I behave the way I do, and that's perfectly fine. I choose to fear God, not man. My life is dedicated to my Lord, and I strive to live according to His guidance and teachings.

I believe that faith is a journey to be lived to the full, and I am grateful for the strength and direction it provides me. Thank you to those who support and uplift me, with the same thoughts, desires and aspirations, on this path.

  • I am blessed with abundance and good health. This is because I live for a man who died for me. He has gifted us with every good thing on Project Planet Earth. Did you know that on the emotional wheel, one of our core feelings is BAD? The ones closely associated are overwhelmed, out of control, sleepy, stressed, tired... you get the point. Would you like to change your emotional wheel? Comment pHix and I will share on of the ways the God's provision is there for those who wish to take up the challenge.

  • What is your intentional choice?

Joy Comes in the Morning…But So Does the Choice

Every morning, something shows up at your door.

    Joy knocks….So does guilt.

Bitterness shows up early….So does peace.

Discouragement waits in the hallway….But so does hope.

Here’s the truth: you don’t get to choose what knocks…but you do get to choose what comes in.

Psalm 30:5 says, “...Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”

    That’s not just poetic…it’s a promise.

Give thanks with a grateful heart!

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him.

“Therefore because you trample on the poor and you exact taxes of grain from him, you have built houses of hewn stone, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink their wine.”

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal and so dishonor the name of my God.” (Proverbs 30:7-9, NIV) #blessed #thankful #honoured
