  • Matthew 12:5 reads: "Or haven't you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple desecrate the day and yet are innocent?"
    Description:
Priests must slaughter animals, kindle fires, and do strenuous physical labor on the Sabbath for temple worship.
Jesus argues that if temple work justifies breaking the normal rhythm of the Sabbath, His disciples' compassionate and necessary act of feeding their hunger is similarly blameless.

  • In Matthew 11:11–12, Jesus praises John the Baptist as the greatest of the old prophets, yet states that the least person in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. Jesus adds that since John’s ministry, the kingdom has faced intense opposition or advanced with unstoppable, forceful spiritual energy.Matthew 11:11 BreakdownJohn’s greatness: Jesus declares that no one born of women is greater than John the Baptist. John stands at the peak of the Old Testament era as the ultimate herald who directly prepared the way for the Messiah. The lesser in the kingdom: The "least in the kingdom of heaven" is greater than John because New Covenant believers possess a privileged, completed perspective. They witness the finished death, resurrection, and indwelling presence of Christ, privileges the prophets only looked forward to from a distance.

  • If not every day, then at least every now and then we need to take the time to observe and remind
ourselves how well our feathered friends are cared for. They literally do not know where their next
meal is coming from; yet, I have personally never seen a bird sitting on a tree branch having a nervous
    breakdown due to worry.
The Master's point here is really very simple, "Are you not worth more than a bird?"
Even though you may be wrestling with a poor self-image, surely you can believe that you are more
valuable than a bird, and look how well your heavenly Father takes care of them.

  • Worry is definitely an attack from Satan upon the mind. There are certain things the believer is
instructed to do with his mind, and the enemy wants to make sure that they are never done. So the
devil attempts to keep the mental arena busy enough with the wrong kinds of thinking so that the mind
never gets around to being used for the purpose for which God designed it.

  • Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does
not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.
For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident)
that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. Mark 11:23,24

  • Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the precious gift of life and for allowing us to be born into Your loving presence. We welcome You in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Guide our footsteps along the path You have chosen for us, so that we may never wander onto the road of falsehood.
May we, in every moment of our lives, honor and give thanks for the healing blood of Jesus Christ that was shed for our salvation. We ask for Your divine guidance and protection over our children and our family. Keep us safe from every evil hand, strengthen our faith, and prepare us to be instruments in leading many souls to You.
We ask all this in the mighty name of Your beloved Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
    Amen.

  • Darkness needs light. Do not be ashamed to stand for Christ. Choose to please God rather than the world, for when one sinner repents, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God.

"There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." — Luke 15:10
