‎Today, I'm choosing gentleness even when I'm running on empty. Not because I have it together, but because His grace is made perfect in my weakness.

Discipline with Dignity
‎"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace." – Hebrews 12:11

‎Correction is hard. For them and for us. But I'm learning that discipline isn't about punishment—it's about redirection. It's saying, "I love you too much to let you stay on this path."

‎Today, I'm asking: Is my correction pointing them toward restoration, or just making them feel small? The goal isn't a perfectly behaved child—it's a redeemed heart.

Modeling Over Lecturing

‎My kids won't remember every lecture I give. But they will remember how I handled traffic jams, disagreements with my spouse, and stressful days. Am I modeling the patience and grace I'm asking them to have?

‎Today, I'm letting my actions preach louder than my instructions. They're watching. And honestly? That's a little intimidating—but also a holy invitation.

The Power of Words

‎I've had moments where a sharp word left a visible flinch in my child's eyes. And I've also seen how a gentle "I'm proud of you" can completely shift their whole mood.

‎Today, I'm choosing life-giving words. Not perfect ones—just ones that build up instead of tear down. They're listening. Even when it doesn't seem like it.

The Heart Check

‎Parenting starts from the inside out. Before I can correct, teach, or guide, I need to ask: What's filling my heart right now? Frustration? Exhaustion? Fear? Or the peace that comes from knowing I'm not parenting alone?

‎Today, I'm pausing before I react. Not to be a "better" parent—but to be a more present one. Because what flows from me will eventually flow into them.

As parents, we often feel the weight of getting it "right." But biblical parenting isn't about raising perfect kids—it's about faithfully pointing them to the One who is perfect.

‎This week, I'm meditating on Colossians 3:21: "Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged."
‎
‎It’s a sobering reminder that our tone, our patience, and our reactions shape their hearts just as much as our rules do. So I'm asking myself:

‎· Am I correcting in love, or in frustration?
‎· Am I listening as much as I'm lecturing?
‎· Am I showing them the Father's heart through my own?
‎
‎Parenting is discipleship. And discipleship happens in the mundane—the meals, the meltdowns, and the bedtime prayers. Keep going, mom and dad. You're planting seeds that will outlive you.
