Trust Is Built in Small Things
Good morning,
Trust is rarely built through one dramatic act.
It grows through ordinary faithfulness.
Keeping your word.
Being where you said you would be.
Being honest about money.
Being transparent about friendships.
Following through on promises.
A husband doesn't have to make grand declarations every day to build trust.
A wife doesn't have to prove her love through extraordinary gestures.
Small acts of consistency quietly tell your spouse:
"You can depend on me."

Making Daily Decisions That Strengthen the Marriage
Morning Reflection
Choose Your Spouse Again
Good Morning!
There was a time when you chose each other with excitement.
You dressed up.
You made plans.
You dreamed about the future.
Then life happened.
Bills arrived. Children came. Responsibilities increased. Work became demanding. Some dreams changed.
But one of the beautiful things about marriage is that you don't only choose each other on the wedding day.
You keep choosing each other every day.
You choose patience when irritation would be easier.
You choose forgiveness when resentment feels justified.
You choose conversation instead of silence.
You choose faithfulness when temptation appears.
You choose love when feelings are tired.
Your wedding vow may have been spoken once, but its meaning is lived every day.
God's Word
"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." — Colossians 3:12
Today's Love Action
Tell your spouse today:
"I still choose you."
Then mention one reason why.
Let's Talk
What made you choose your spouse in the beginning, and what makes you continue choosing them today?
Prayer
Lord, renew our commitment to one another. Help us choose love, faithfulness and grace even on difficult days. Amen.
From The Counselor's Chair:
Feelings change with circumstances, but mature love learns to make faithful choices even when emotions fluctuate.

Reflection
Tonight, don't focus on what your spouse did wrong.
Think about one thing you understand better about them because of this week's conversations.
Thank God for the privilege of knowing another person's heart.
God's Word
"Be kind and compassionate to one another." — Ephesians 4:32
Heart Check
Am I still curious about my spouse's heart?
My (LEWIS') HEART NOTE
Over the years, I have discovered that many couples don't stop loving each other; they simply stop understanding each other.
They become familiar with each other's routines but unfamiliar with each other's hearts.
My encouragement is simple:
Stay curious about your spouse.
Ask questions.
Listen to the answers.
Notice the changes.
Pay attention to the things they don't say.
Sometimes the person you married years ago is carrying new dreams, new fears and new responsibilities today.
Don't assume you already know everything about them.
Keep discovering one another.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of marriage. Help us never stop learning how to love one another. Let understanding replace assumptions, compassion replace criticism, and grace replace resentment. Amen.
Marriage Nugget:
"The longer you are married, the more you should discover—not assume—you know about each other."

Understanding Is a Form of Love
Good morning,
We have spent this week learning that unity requires more than living under the same roof.
It requires learning one another.
Listening.
Asking instead of assuming.
Accepting differences.
Speaking truth with love.
Making room for feelings.
Forgiving yesterday.
This is what emotional intimacy looks like.
You may know your spouse's favourite food, favourite colour and favourite football team.
But do you know what makes them afraid?
What gives them hope?
What makes them feel loved?
What burden are they quietly carrying?
Marriage becomes deeper when we stop merely living beside each other and start knowing each other.
God's Word
"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." — Ephesians 4:2
Today's Love Action
Ask your spouse:
"What is one thing you wish I understood better about you?"
Then listen with an open heart.
Let's Talk
What have you learned about your spouse that has helped you love them better?
Prayer
Lord, help us know each other's hearts more deeply. Remove barriers created by pride, fear and misunderstanding, and teach us to love with compassion. Amen.
From The Counselor's Chair:
One of the greatest discoveries in marriage is realizing that the person beside you still has unexplored depths. Keep asking. Keep listening. Keep learning.

Reflection
Growing Together, Not Apart
Good Morning!
A farmer in the Ashanti Region once said, "When two cocoa trees are planted close together, they do not compete for the sunlight. They grow side by side, each strengthened by the same rain."
His words reminded me of marriage.
Marriage is not a competition to determine who is more important, more successful, or more appreciated. It is God's invitation for two people to grow together under His care.
There will be seasons when one spouse appears stronger while the other needs encouragement. At other times, the roles will be reversed. Healthy marriages understand that growth is not always equal, but it should always be mutual.
The question is not, "Who is ahead?"
The better question is, "Are we moving closer to Christ together?"
God's Word
"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." — Hebrews 10:24
Today's Love Action
Encourage your spouse in one area where you have seen spiritual or personal growth.
Let's Talk
How have you helped each other become better people?
Prayer
Lord, help us to celebrate each other's growth and walk together toward the future You have prepared for us. Amen.

Around the Family Table

Over the years, I have discovered that love rarely grows through dramatic moments alone. It grows when husbands and wives consistently choose kindness, service, forgiveness and encouragement in ordinary days. Great marriages are built quietly, one loving decision at a time.

The strongest words in marriage are often not "I can handle it." They are: "Let us face this together." That is the language of covenant. 📖 God's Word "Two are better than one... If either of them falls, one can help the other up." — Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 ❤️ Today's Love Action Ask your spouse, "What can I do today to make your load lighter?" Let's Talk What challenge brought you closer together as a couple? Prayer Lord, help us carry each other's burdens with love, patience and joy. Amen. 🌿 From The Counselor's Chair The happiest couples do not divide life into "your problems" and "my problems." They learn to say, "Our challenge." Marriage Nugget "Love does not stand on the sidelines; it steps in to help." Kindness Is Never Wasted
Good Morning!
One rainy afternoon in Sunyani, an elderly woman shared the secret of her forty-three-year marriage.
She smiled and said, "There were days when we had very little money, but we never allowed ourselves to become poor in kindness."
What a beautiful testimony.
Kindness is one of the richest investments we can make in marriage. It costs little, yet its returns are priceless.
A gentle greeting. A warm smile. A thoughtful text. A helping hand.
These small expressions remind our spouse, "You matter to me."
The world often rewards power, but Christ honours kindness.
God's Word
Ephesians 4:32
" Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. " (NLT)
Today's Love Action
Perform three intentional acts of kindness today without mentioning them afterward.
Let's Talk
Which act of kindness from your spouse has remained unforgettable?
Prayer
Lord, make kindness the language of our home. Help us reflect Your gentle heart in all we do. Amen.
From The Counselor's Chair
Many marriages recover not because problems disappear, but because kindness returns.

Love Notices Small Needs
Good Morning!
One morning in Kumasi, an elderly husband quietly swept the compound before his wife woke up. A neighbour smiled and said, "You are still doing this after all these years?"
He replied, "Love doesn't retire."
That simple answer carries a profound lesson.
Many people think love is proven only by expensive gifts or grand celebrations. Yet some of the strongest marriages are built through ordinary acts of kindness—filling a water bottle, preparing breakfast, checking on a tired spouse, or offering a warm embrace after a difficult day.
Jesus noticed people's needs before they asked. He fed the hungry, comforted the grieving, and welcomed the overlooked. His love was attentive.
When we notice the small needs of our spouse, we reflect the heart of Christ.
God's Word
"Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." — Philippians 2:4

Trusting God Together
Good Morning!
There is a beautiful sight in many Ghanaian churches on Sunday mornings—a husband and wife standing side by side in worship.
They may have faced challenges during the week.
They may have disagreed.
They may still be waiting for answers to difficult prayers.
Yet together they lift their hands before God.
That is a picture of hope.
Strong marriages are not those without storms. They are those that keep walking toward God together through every season.
When couples pray together, they invite God's wisdom into every decision and His peace into every challenge.
God's Word
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." — Proverbs 3:5
Today's Challenge
Hold hands and pray together today, even if it is only for five minutes.
