- DAILY DEVOTION — January 14
First Things First
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
(But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness...)
Jesus’ command to seek first the kingdom of God is a call to reorder our priorities. When we pursue
His righteousness before anything else, peace follows, and provision is no longer something we
chase—it becomes something that finds us.
The world teaches us to seek success, comfort, or control, but God teaches us to seek Him. When
our focus shifts upward, everything else falls into its rightful place. Gratitude strengthens this focus,
reminding us of Who sustains us and why we can trust His promise that “all these things shall be
added.”
Faith that puts God first never ends in lack; it ends in blessing.
Reflection Questions:
1. What areas of my life need to be realigned with God’s priorities?
2. How can I make seeking God my first response instead of my last resort?
3. How does gratitude help me stay focused on what truly matters?
Prayer:
Lord, I choose to seek You first. Reorder my thoughts and priorities so that Your kingdom comes
before everything else. Thank You for providing all I need when I put You first. Amen.
Practical Application:
● Begin each day with prayer and Scripture before checking your phone.
● Identify one habit or distraction that keeps you from putting God first.
● Write down a testimony of how God provided when you sought Him above all else.
Takeaway Thought:
When God comes first, everything else finds its proper place.

- I decided to pray and look to God for guidance I knew he wouldnt let me down, I was thankful that God found me when he did, when I needed him the most he was there for me, I was so lost and broken from the relationship I was in at the time, a week after my ex and I got into a fight, he grabbed a k***e and chased me out the door, he tried to trap me by pinning me to a wall, I started to pray to God, I prayed for the strength to be free and God guided me out of the situation and brought me here today, the moment I stepped outside and was safe I felt his light upon me, I felt my life change. He gave me another chance, he taught me to open my heart and to not be afraid anymore, a Bible verse I live by now is John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. That is why being baptized is important to me, because I have felt God's love, I have learned to love myself through Gods eyes, to love those around me and to only accept love from others and to forgive hate. I am so thankful for everything God has done for me, So I pray, God, In your love you have called to me to know you, led me to trust you, so I bound my life with yours. I Surround myself with your love, please let me grow in the knowledge of your love. - Rejoicing in God’s Goodness
Scripture
Deuteronomy 26:11 (NKJV)
So you shall rejoice in every good thing which the Lord your God has given to you and your house, you and the Levite and the stranger who is among you.
Gratitude That Leads to Joy
Deuteronomy chapter 26 centers on remembrance and gratitude. God instructed Israel to bring their firstfruits as an act of worship, recounting how He delivered them from Egypt and brought them into a land of abundance. After remembering God’s saving work and giving back to Him, the people were commanded to rejoice. Gratitude and joy were not optional responses; they were part of faithful worship.
Verse 11 shows that rejoicing was to be shared. God’s blessings were not meant to be enjoyed in isolation. The Levite, the stranger, and those without inheritance were included. True gratitude recognizes that everything comes from God and that His goodness is best celebrated together.
For believers today, this verse reminds us that joy flows naturally from thankfulness. When we remember what God has done and acknowledge Him as the source of every good thing, our hearts are filled with joy. Gratitude transforms obedience into celebration and generosity into worship.
Reflection Questions
1. Do I take time to rejoice in what God has already given me?
2. Is my gratitude expressed only privately, or do I share joy with others?
3. How can remembering God’s goodness strengthen my faith today?
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for every good thing You have given to me and my household. Help me to live with a thankful heart and to rejoice in Your blessings. Teach me to share joy generously and to honor You through gratitude and worship. In Jesus name, Amen.0 Comments 0 Shares 7 Views - Here is a song I've been working on, Needs some work and isn't finished but though I'd share
LORD ON OUR SIDE
we got the Lord on our side
even if it's gonna be a rough ride
I know we can make it through
With Jesus Christ on our side
loudly we'll praise, proudly we'll sing
our Lord is great, In him we trust
Jesus is the way, the truth the life!
we got the Lord on our side
we got the Lord on our side
And We will pray
We won't Fear
For Jesus makes a way
And Our God is near
So don't be dismayed
For our God stayed
We got the Lord on our side
Nothing can tear us apart
Even if it's gonna be a rough ride
We accepted Jesus, He changed our heart
I Know we can make it through
we got the Lord on our side

We got the Lord on our side
And we will pray
Even through the stress
Tears are falling away
Turn to Jesus he gives us rest
The Lord is our Shepherd
In the valley of the shadow of death
Our cries God heard
It is finished with Jesus last breath
loudly we'll praise, proudly we'll sing
