- There is something many of us do without even realizing it.
We keep asking, “How close can I get to sin without actually sinning?”
How close can I get to temptation and still say I am a Christian?
How long can I stay in that private and immoral conversation before it becomes something else?
How much physical closeness can I have with someone I am sexually attracted to before things go too far?
How many times can I watch that pornography content before it starts affecting my mind?
How much can I entertain that immoral friendship before my convictions become weak?
How far can I go and still say, “But I didn't actually do anything wrong”?
My dear friend you need to stop asking that question.
Because the goal of a Christian should never be to discover how close we can get to sin. The goal should be to discover how far we can stay away from it.
Imagine someone standing at the edge of a very deep pit. And someone tells him, “Please, move away from there. It is dangerous.”
But he says, “No, I am careful.”
Then he moves a little closer. “Don't worry. I won't fall.”
He moves closer again. “I just want to see how close I can get without falling.”
What kind of wisdom is that?
If you know there is a pit, why are you measuring your distance from the pit instead of walking away from it?
That is exactly what happens when we keep testing how close we can get to sin.
Then suddenly, you find yourself in a situation you never planned for. And you begin to ask, “How did I get here?”
You got there because you kept walking toward what God told you to walk away from.
Sometimes, the problem is not that we don't know what is wrong. The problem is that we want to see how close we can get to what is wrong before we finally stop.
And that is dangerous. Because temptation does not usually begin with the final act.
It begins with permission. You permit the conversation. You permit the thought. You permit the private meeting. You permit the emotional attachment. You permit the secret. You permit the repeated exposure.
You keep giving yourself reasons why you can handle it. And little by little, your sensitivity to sin becomes weaker.
Something that once disturbed your conscience begins to feel normal. Something that once made you uncomfortable becomes something you now defend.
And that is one of the most dangerous things that can happen to a believer.
Because sometimes, the biggest victory of temptation is not making you commit the sin immediately. It is making you comfortable enough to keep standing near it.
Think about fire. You don't have to put your whole body inside fire to get burned. You can get burned simply by getting too close.
In the same way, you don't have to plan to destroy your life. You can simply keep getting closer and closer to the things that can destroy it.
And one day, you discover that your “small compromise” has become a serious problem.
If you are constantly asking, “Can I do this and still be okay?”
Maybe your heart is not looking for holiness. Maybe your heart is looking for permission. And my dear friend, don't negotiate with temptation.
Run from it. There are some doors you should not keep opening.
There are some conversations you should not keep having. There are some places you should not keep visiting. There are some relationships you should create boundaries around.
There are some things you should stop watching. There are some situations where the most spiritual thing you can do is simply walk away.
Don't wait until you fall before you decide to leave. Don't wait until your heart becomes attached. Don't wait until the temptation becomes stronger.
Walk away while you still have the strength to walk away.
Joseph did not stand around Potiphar's wife trying to prove how strong he was.
When the situation became dangerous, he ran.
Sometimes, running is not weakness. Sometimes, running is wisdom.
You don't prove your spiritual maturity by staying around temptation and saying, “I can handle it.”
You prove your maturity by knowing when to say, “This is dangerous for my soul, so I am leaving.”
You may think you are strong today. But you don't know what prolonged exposure to temptation can do to you tomorrow.
Don't test yourself. Don't test temptation. Don't test how much your heart can take. Don't test how close you can get to sin.
Protect your walk with God. Protect your peace. Protect your conscience. Protect your future. And protect the testimony God is building through your life.
Because sometimes, what destroys people is not one big decision. It is a series of small decisions that looked harmless at the beginning.
Please, don't wait until you are broken before you learn the wisdom of boundaries.
You don't have to touch the fire to know that it burns. You don't have to fall into the pit to know that it is dangerous. And you don't have to experience every consequence personally before you learn to obey God's warning.
Sometimes, God is not asking you to prove how strong you are. He is simply asking you to trust Him enough to walk away.
So, stop testing how close you can get to sin. Stop playing with what can destroy your peace. Stop entertaining what you have been praying for God to help you overcome.
Stop standing at the edge of the pit and calling it faith.
Walk away. Because there is no prize for getting as close to sin as possible without falling.
The real victory is being far enough away that when temptation comes, you don't have to negotiate with it.
I am Anthony Chukwuebuka - THE BOO OF THE BOOLESS; You don't need to stand at the edge of the cliff to prove you won't fall. Sometimes, the greatest evidence that you value your life is simply choosing not to stand there in the first place.

If I have to lie, pretend, or become someone I am not just to enter somebody’s life, then I am already setting that relationship up for failure.
Because you cannot successfully build something permanent with something temporary.
You may pretend for a while. You may impress them. You may say all the right things. You may act like you have everything together.
You may constantly call them, constantly check on them, constantly buy things for them, and constantly behave like the perfect person.
But the question is: How long can you continue?
Because pretending is exhausting. And eventually, you will get tired.
The real you will begin to come out. And when that happens, the person who fell in love with the version of you that you created may suddenly feel like they are dealing with a completely different person.
Then they will say, “You have changed.”
But sometimes, you didn't change. They simply started seeing you.
And that is a very painful truth.
Some people don't change after marriage. Some people don't change immediately after you agree to be in a relationship.
They were simply pretending before you committed yourself to them.
Before you said yes, they were doing everything possible to convince you. They called constantly. They were always available. They were patient. They were kind.
They listened. They appeared to have all the qualities you were looking for. But after they became sure that they had you, the performance started becoming difficult to maintain.
The calls became fewer. The excuses became more frequent. The patience disappeared.
The respect reduced. The person you thought you knew started behaving differently.
And you begin asking yourself, “What happened to this person?”
Sometimes, nothing happened. You simply met the version they were hiding.
And this is why I want you to understand something: Don't pretend your way into somebody's heart.
If you normally don't call someone five times a day, don't suddenly start calling five times a day just because you want them to like you.
Because what happens when they get used to that attention?
One day, you become tired. You stop calling.
They start asking, “What happened to you?” And you have no answer because the person they miss was never really you.
Don't spend money you cannot comfortably afford just to impress somebody.
Don't create an image of yourself that your real life cannot sustain.
Don't lie about your strengths. Don't hide every weakness.
Don't pretend you have everything figured out when you don't.
Don't act like you are always happy when you are struggling.
Be honest about who you are. Let people see you. Let them see your personality.
Let them see your values. Let them see how you treat people. Let them see your weaknesses and your strengths.
Let them see your real life. And then give them the freedom to decide whether they can accept that person.
Because the right person doesn't need you to become a fake version of yourself just to be accepted.
And please, You don't need everybody to like you. You need the right people to know you.
There is a difference.
If somebody only likes you because of the person you pretended to be, then you haven't really won their heart. You have only successfully deceived them. And eventually, both of you will pay for it.
This is also why, when you are considering someone, don't only listen to their sweet words. Watch their life. Watch their actions.
Watch how they treat people who cannot give them anything. Watch how they behave when they are angry.
Watch how they respond when things don't go their way. Watch whether their actions agree with their words.
Because anybody can say, “I am a good person.”
But your lifestyle will eventually answer the question for you.
The Bible says in James 1:8 that a double-minded person is unstable in all their ways.
When somebody is constantly presenting different versions of themselves depending on who is watching, sooner or later, the inconsistency will become obvious.
So don't be carried away by appearances. Don't allow a fine car to make you ignore character. Don't allow money to make you ignore integrity.
Don't allow expensive gifts to make you ignore bad behavior.
Don't allow sweet words to make you ignore obvious warning signs.
Don't allow attraction and excitement to make you forget the qualities that actually matter when choosing someone who will have a serious place in your life.
Because when the excitement becomes normal, character is what remains.
The car can break down. The money can finish. The gifts can stop coming. The excitement can reduce. But character is what you will continue to live with.
And this applies to you too.
Don't make someone fall in love with a person you cannot continue to be.
If you are naturally quiet, don't pretend to be extremely outgoing. If you cannot afford certain things, don't pretend that you can.
If you have weaknesses you are working on, be honest about them. If you are still growing, admit that you are still growing.
There is nothing shameful about saying, “This is who I am, and these are the areas I am working on.”
In fact, that kind of honesty can save you from years of pretending.
Because imagine entering a relationship through deception and spending the rest of your life trying to maintain the lie.
That is not love. That is pressure. And eventually, the pressure will expose you.
So please... Be yourself.
Let people know the real you. And if they don't accept you, let them go.
It may hurt, but rejection from someone who doesn't accept the real you is better than acceptance from someone who only loves your disguise.
And when you are choosing someone too, don't just ask, “Do I like this person?”
Ask, “Who is this person when nobody is watching?”
Look beyond the packaging. Look beyond the appearance. Look beyond the excitement. Look beyond the sweet messages.
Look at character. Look at consistency. Look at integrity. Look at how they treat people.
Look at whether their words and actions agree.
Because you are not choosing a photograph. You are choosing a person.
Don't become a victim of somebody else's pretence, and don't make somebody else a victim of yours.
Be honest. Be real. Be consistent. Because the person you pretend to be may get you into someone's life... but only the person you truly are can sustain your place there.
Don't let someone spend years loving a person you created just to make them stay. Because one day, when the mask falls, they won't only feel like they lost you; they will feel like they never knew you at all.

A Pastor sent me a direct message. He said, "Sir, I was led to talk to you urgently."
I smiled when I saw him call me Sir. This is a man old enough to be my father, probably in his late 40s or early 50s. A mature man. A respected man.
Then I opened his message.
He said, "Sir, I nearly slept with a church member yesterday. I would have destroyed my testimonies. My ministry would have finished just like that. I was led by God to confess to you, seek your counsel, and know the way forward from this foolish act of mine."
I was silent for a moment.
This is not just any pastor. He is a Senior Pastor in one of the biggest and most popular Pentecostal churches in Nigeria. He is gifted. He is respected. Thousands listen to him every week. If I mention his name, many people will know him immediately.
Then he began to explain what happened.
A young lady from his church came to visit him at home. His wife had gone to work. The children were still in school.
According to him, the lady practically threw herself at him. She knew the right words to say. She knew the right moment to come. She understood his weakness.
He confessed that he had already started undressing the lady.
Then suddenly... The school bus arrived. His children came home.
That sound from outside interrupted everything.
At that very moment, reality returned. The lady quickly left.
As I read his message, one thing kept ringing in my heart.
That school bus did not just bring his children home. God used that school bus to bring him back to his senses.
Sometimes, God's mercy does not always look like fire from heaven. Sometimes, it looks like an unexpected phone call.
Sometimes, it looks like someone knocking on your door. Sometimes, it looks like traffic.
Sometimes, it looks like a child coming home earlier than expected. Sometimes, God's mercy interrupts our foolishness before it destroys our future.
As we continued talking, I discovered something very important.
This did not start yesterday. The problem started long before yesterday.
He had gradually become careless around the ladies in his church.
There were no healthy boundaries anymore. The jokes became too personal. The conversations became too private. The familiarity became too comfortable. The attention became too excessive.
What should have remained pastoral slowly became emotional.
And once boundaries disappear, temptation no longer needs permission to enter.
The young lady only came because she had already seen an open door.
People rarely become bold overnight. Many times, they become bold because someone unknowingly gave them the confidence.
This is why I want to speak, not only to pastors, but to every man and every woman reading this.
Please, protect your boundaries.
Do not play with what has the power to destroy your destiny.
Not every conversation should continue. Not every friendship should become intimate. Not every compliment should be entertained.
Not every private meeting is necessary. Not every message deserves a reply.
Stop feeding what you are praying against.
To the men... Whether you are a pastor, a leader, a husband, a brother, or a single man, never say, "It can never happen to me."
The strongest people have fallen because they stopped watching.
Your anointing does not remove temptation. Your title does not remove temptation. Your years in ministry do not remove temptation. Your prayer life does not remove temptation.
What keeps you standing is humility, wisdom, accountability, and healthy boundaries.
Do not stay where your flesh is stronger than your spirit. Run before you need to fight.
To the women... Please understand that not every open door should be entered.
Never become the reason another person loses their home, their marriage, their ministry, or their relationship with God.
Do not admire someone's grace and then become the weapon that destroys it.
If someone is married, respect that covenant. If someone is your pastor, let your honor remain honor. Do not mistake emotional attachment for love.
Some victories are won simply by walking away.
And to every believer reading this... The devil is not always looking for loud sinners.
Sometimes, he looks for tired people. Lonely people. Careless people. People who stopped praying. People who stopped setting boundaries. People who think they are too spiritual to fall.
That is where he strikes.
I thanked God that this man did not go through with it.
Yes, he came close. Very close. But the fact that he confessed instead of covering it gives me hope that God is still working on his heart.
True repentance is not just saying, "I am sorry." True repentance is changing the lifestyle that almost led you there.
Confession without correction is only postponing another fall.
If you keep returning to the same environment, the same private conversations, the same hidden meetings, and the same carelessness, one day mercy may not interrupt you the way it did yesterday.
Never build your life on the confidence that "God will forgive me."
Build your life on the wisdom that says, "I don't want to grieve the God who has been so merciful to me."
Because one moment of pleasure can destroy what took decades of prayer, sacrifice, and faithfulness to build.
The devil does not need many years to destroy a testimony. Sometimes, all he needs is one careless moment.
I am Anthony Chukwuebuka - THE BOO OF THE BOOLESS; Please learn to protect your heart. Protect your eyes. Protect your boundaries. Protect your name. Protect your testimony. True repentance is changing the lifestyle that almost led you there. Confession without correction is only postponing another fall. If you keep returning to the same environment, the same private conversations, the same hidden meetings, and the same carelessness, one day mercy may not interrupt you the way it did yesterday. Never build your life on the confidence that "God will forgive me." Build your life on the wisdom that says, "I don't want to grieve the God who has been so merciful to me." Because one moment of pleasure can destroy what took decades of prayer, sacrifice, and faithfulness to build. The devil does not need many years to destroy a testimony. Sometimes, all he needs is one careless moment. I am Anthony Chukwuebuka - THE BOO OF THE BOOLESS; Please learn to protect your heart. Protect your eyes. Protect your boundaries. Protect your name. Protect your testimony. Because what you refuse to guard today may become the very thing you cry over tomorrow.0 Comments 0 Shares 11 Views - There is a message on my heart today, and I don't believe it is by accident.
I may not know your name. I may not know where you are reading this from. I may not know what your story looks like.
But I know one thing... The Holy Spirit is speaking to someone right now.
As a Relationship Minister, one of the deepest pains I have encountered is not from broken relationships alone. It is the silent pain of sisters who have waited... and waited... and waited for the man God has prepared for them.
I have listened to countless conversations. Conversations filled with hidden tears.
Some are in their mid-twenties, fully ready to build a godly home. Some are already in their thirties, wondering why the years keep passing by. Some have never received a serious proposal.
Others have received attention from brothers who disappeared halfway. Some keep attracting men who only waste their time.
Some have prayed for years. Some have fasted until they had no strength left.
Some have attended every wedding with a smile on their faces, only to return home and cry themselves to sleep.
Maybe... That sister is you.
You celebrate your friends sincerely when they get engaged. You buy them gifts. You dance at their weddings. You pray for them with a genuine heart.
But when you get back into your room, you quietly ask God, "Lord... when will it be my turn?"
You scroll through social media and another wedding picture appears.
Another engagement. Another proposal. Another bridal shower. You smile... Then gently lock your phone because your heart cannot take it anymore.
You are beginning to wonder... "Lord, have You forgotten me; My mates are becoming wives. My younger ones are getting married. What exactly am I doing wrong?"
Maybe nobody knows how much this has been breaking you.
But hear me today... God knows.
He sees every silent tear you wiped away before anyone noticed.
He hears every prayer you whispered when nobody was listening.
He remembers every fasting you have done.
He knows every heartbreak you survived.
He knows how many times you believed someone was the answer, only to watch everything fall apart.
He knows how difficult it is to keep hoping when disappointment has become so familiar.
And today... The Lord is saying to you... PEACE... BE STILL.
Don't allow fear to speak louder than God's promises. Don't allow your age to become your identity. Don't allow people's questions to become your burden.
Because the God you serve has never forgotten your address.
The truth is... We often measure life with calendars. But God measures life with purpose.
We count years. While God prepares destinies.
We watch clocks. But God watches His perfect plan unfold.
There is no morning with God. There is no night with Him.
There is no January or December in eternity.
He is never late. He has never been late. And He will not start with you.
The Bible says that He makes everything beautiful in His own time.
Not our time. His time.
Think about Lazarus. Many people believed Jesus should have arrived before Lazarus died.
They thought He delayed. They thought it was over. But when Jesus finally came, it wasn't because He was late.
It was because His timing would reveal a greater glory.
If He had arrived earlier, Lazarus would have simply been healed. But because He came at God's appointed time... Lazarus was raised from the dead.
Sometimes what feels like God's delay is actually God's preparation.
You may not understand why your story looks different from everyone else's. But you don't have to understand everything to trust God.
Trust His heart. Trust His wisdom. Trust His process. And trust His timing.
The husband God has prepared for you will not miss his way.
The God who knows where you are also knows where he is.
Nothing catches God by surprise. Nothing.
Your waiting season is not a sign that God has rejected you. Sometimes it is simply proof that He is writing a testimony that cannot be explained by human effort.
So today... Instead of asking, "Lord, why am I still waiting?"
Try saying, "Lord, I trust You even while I wait."
Tell Him, "Father, strengthen my faith. Help me not to become bitter. Help me not to compare my journey with others. Help me to remain joyful while You prepare what You have prepared for me."
And when the waiting becomes heavy... Whisper these simple words... "Lord... I will wait for You."
Not because waiting is easy. But because You are faithful. I don't know who this message is for. But I believe with all my heart that someone's testimony is closer than they think.
The tears will not last forever. The waiting will not last forever. The questions will not last forever. Your season will change.
And when God finally writes your story... No one will remember how long you waited. They will only stand in awe of what God has done.
May the Lord strengthen every waiting heart. May He fill every empty place with hope. May He replace every silent tear with joyful laughter. And may your testimony arrive at the exact moment Heaven has appointed.
In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
