- Here in Ghana, my elders have a proverb: "Wankasa wotiri ho a, yɛyi wo ayi bɔne."
Literal: If you don’t say how you want your hair cut, you’ll get a bad cut.
Picture the barber shop. If you sit there quiet about the cut you want, you’ll walk out with whatever they decided to give you.
God says the same thing, just differently.
Proverbs 31:8-9 “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves... speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
If God is telling us to speak up for others, how much more should we learn to speak up for the life He gave us?
See, your life is your "head". Your calling, your peace, your boundaries, your purpose.
Ephesians 2:10 reminds us: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.”
You are not an afterthought. You are intentional. Handmade.
So if you stay silent, the world will "cut" your life for you. The wrong job. The relationship that drains you. The dream you shrink to fit in.
But when you know your worth in God and you use your voice, people start treating you like someone Heaven already called valuable.
Question for you: What’s one area of your "head" that God is asking you to start speaking up about this week? Here in Ghana, my elders have a proverb: "Wankasa wotiri ho a, yɛyi wo ayi bɔne."
