- Growing up in the Appalachian Mtns of Virginia, my grandfather, and old school pastor and carpenter would take me to work with him. As a child I was a golfer and clean up. The lessons I learned back then were so important to my molding into the man I am today, as a husband, father, worker, and evangelist. Many times while traveling he would point to ridge tops and tell stories about the men of the church going up there and building a campfire and then praying all night. Then he would relate miracles and firey revivals that happened during and just after those days of prayer. As an adult those stories became more relevant as I discovered other great revivals across the world being fueled by the prayers of prayer warriors, prayer warriors with a burden for the lost and a vision for revival.
Im afraid that we including myself have lost the burden of prayer and the realization of its power to move God and break the chains of sin and addiction, the power to move mountains and fix relationships. Oh that we could get that revelation and burden for prayer again.Growing up in the Appalachian Mtns of Virginia, my grandfather, and old school pastor and carpenter would take me to work with him. But God is worthy of our praise anyways. Its not like he didn't see the problem coming and already know the outcome.Life isn't always a box of chocolates, sometimes it just simply hurts. - I look around at the substantial amount of sin, anger and division and am reminded of Matthew 24 when Jesus points to the future and paraphrased say" As in the days of Noah it will be in the last days". we are certainly seeing that today. But, I turn to Acts chapter 2 and remember that God never said that there would only be one or to times of great revival. Revival is still attainable today but there is things that we the body of Christ must do. I think for me it's time to pull off the shelf and old book by Leonard Ravinhill titled "Why revival Tarries" and the bible. If we want real revival it's gonna start with each one of examining my own self then as David said " Examine me oh Lord". When I am where I need to be in Christ then I can begin to have revival that will spill over into others lives.I look around at the substantial amount of sin, anger and division and am reminded of Matthew 24 when Jesus points to the future and paraphrased say" As in the days of Noah it will be in the last days". we are certainly seeing that today.
