I am a student of a theological institution, currently in my 300 level (second semester). By August, I will be progressing to my 400 level, and by May next year, I am expected to complete my studies. At this crucial stage of my academic and ministerial training, I am facing serious financial and health-related difficulties.
Between August and December last year, I was diagnosed with high blood sugar (diabetes), a condition that severely affected my health and nearly cost me my life. By God’s grace, I survived that critical season.
Managing this condition requires consistent medication, proper nutrition, regular blood sugar monitoring, and physical activity. Unfortunately, due to financial hardship, I have been unable to afford my medication for the past three weeks, which has placed my health at serious risk.
In addition to my medical needs, I am also struggling with essential academic and daily living requirements. I need textbooks for my theological studies, food items suitable for my health condition, basic cooking utensils, and a blood sugar monitoring device. To responsibly manage my health, I also intend to register for a one-month gym program to maintain consistency and accountability in physical exercise, as recommended for diabetes care. I also need to offset a few urgent bills and miscellaneous necessities.
The estimated cost to address these needs is between ₦350,000 and ₦400,000.
