Genesis 17 – “The Covenant of Circumcision”
Introduction
Genesis 17 marks a powerful renewal of God’s covenant with Abram. It has now been 24 years since God first called him in Genesis 12, and Abram is still waiting for the promised child. In this chapter, God reaffirms His promise, changes Abram’s and Sarai’s names, and introduces the covenant sign of circumcision.
This passage teaches that God’s timing is perfect, His promises are sure, and His covenant requires faith and obedience. Even when the wait feels long, God’s Word never fails.
