The Game Changer
What is that one thing that you feel desperate to change in your family?
What is that one thing that you would want to change for your generations to come?
What would you do if you got that opportunity?
Ruth was a Moabite widow with a background of belonging to a cult tribe and with a pain of loss and loneliness. But her one decision changed the course for her future generations. She was no longer a Moabite and became part of the lineage of King David. (Ruth 1:16, 4: 14-17)
Esther, an entrapped, orphan teenage Jewish girl in the harem of a king, who found favour and became queen. She had a decisive moment that changed the destiny of Jewish people who otherwise were doomed to genocide.
(Esther 4:14-16)
Rahab, a harlot in Jericho with rejection as her only status, took one God-given opportunity to save her clan. She decided to rescue the Israelite spies, knowing God’s favour was upon them. That decision led to her leaving prostitution. She gave birth to a son, Boaz, who was later in the lineage of King David. (Joshua 2:8-9, 12-13)
These women didn’t come with extraordinary physical strength or remarkable skills. Their faith was the courage they wore and risked their own lives to save others.
Your one decision can change the whole course for your generations and communities.
Something very deep that instills courage, no matter what, and gives you the boldness to do something that may look risky and would need extraordinary courage.
You don’t need to have a soldier’s training, the strength of Wonder Woman, or extraterrestrial powers to operate.
You need a divine decision that can give you a jump start.
The crux of the story is that you can be the next Ruth and Rahab who can change the lineage for generations to come. You can be the next Esther who can seize the opportunity to nail the oppressor and save communities.
The question is:
Are you settling for comfort, or would you rise with courage?
Are you staying captive or are you setting captives free?
Are you going to stay a victim, or are you going to raise an army of rescuers?
You can be the next Ruth, Rahab, or Esther. You can be the game changer. You can be the one who pivots the course. You can be the next one in your family or community who can change the course for generations for freedom and victory.
Maybe it’s time to stop numbing that inner voice and start figuring out your divine assignment.
Some might still be captive because of one decision you would need to make.

You are summoned!
“But now, this is what the LORD says,
“He who created you, Jacob, He who formed you, Israel:
DO NOT FEAR for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”
(Isaiah 43:1)
This is a deeply personal conversation.
It is not addressed to a crowd.
It is not for someone who is very holy or righteous.
Or someone who is doing the right things.
THIS IS FOR YOU.
These are the words God is saying to YOU.
“Do I even matter?”
Are these the words that loop in your mind?
Yes, YOU MATTER. More than you know at the moment.
"Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; YOU ARE WORTH MORE THAN MANY SPARROWS” (Matthew 10:29–31)
In Jewish markets, the sparrows were sold cheaply as food because that’s all the poor people could afford then. The story of the sparrows states that, even as insignificant as sparrows were considered for value, the birds mattered to God.
How much more HE values you as creations made in HIS likeness.
Some of us struggle to find our worth. We tend to wonder if we matter at all. Sometimes, people around us make us feel less valued; other times, we ourselves start believing that about ourselves.
We tend to measure our worth based on what the world around us has taught us. We attach it to our achievements, success, status, assets, looks, relationships, intelligence, performance, or efficiency, even to the point of what others would say about us.
Till all these are working positively for us, we feel worthy. The moment these things disappear, we feel good for nothing. Because we connect worth to all these things, but that is not what true worth is.
That is where the whole mess starts. Such feelings can lead people to many low self-worth issues, such as eating disorders, depression, addictions, toxic relationships, sabotaging behaviours, and many other unwise choices.
The feeling is not the issue issue but the belief about what determines your worth.
“Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.”
(Isaiah 43:4)
But notice what God thinks and says to you. Since you are PRECIOUS, HONOURED in my sight; and because I LOVE you.”
God is not looking at your status, achievements, perfect figures, or even good actions. He simply states that He considers you PRECIOUS, HONOURED, and HE chooses to LOVE YOU.
This is your creator, who is Almighty and Powerful, declaring His love for you. The very fact that HE calls you HIS (… You are mine; Isaiah 43:1) gives you your worth. Your worth is in HIS LOVE.
He further goes on talking about giving nations and people for your rescue. He is going strong in declaring HOW MUCH YOU MATTER TO HIM. No random person will be willing or offering to pay any price for you except the one who would love you endlessly.
I understand some of us never really experienced A LOVE LIKE THAT. Sometimes, it becomes difficult to believe that God would love us at all.
But GOD SAYS totally something else:
"Can a mother forget her nursing child...? Even if that were possible, I would not forget you! See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands." (Isaiah 49:15-16)
"I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born." (Isaiah 44:2)
God’s words are not mere talks, but He went on to give His Son as ransom for our transgressions. If that is not LOVE, then I guess we do not know love at all.
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
While you think you are unworthy, God has other ideas about you.
"I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness." (Jeremiah 31:3)
“...Know the truth, and truth will set you free.” (John 8: 32)
We have been living and believing wrong all along.
Maybe it’s time to question those negative thoughts about your worth that have made you believe any less of yourself than you are.
Maybe it’s time to believe the TRUTH.
Maybe it’s time to TAP into HIS LOVE and know how much YOU ARE WORTH to Him.
