Hello Everyone! 📖 Breaking the Cycle – Chapter 2 Discussion The Blame Excuse As promised, here is our Chapter 2 discussion. I pray it encourages you to reflect on God's Word and inspires meaningful conversation. 💭 A Question to Begin Have you ever noticed how easy it is to explain where you are by pointing to what someone else did, or failed to do? Blame can be a subtle trap. Sometimes it hides beneath real pain, disappointment, or injustice. We may not be bitter or angry, and we may even believe we have forgiven those who hurt us. Yet we continue to explain our present circumstances through the lens of what happened in the past. In John 5, Jesus asked the man at the Pool of Bethesda a simple question: "Wilt thou be made whole?" Instead of answering directly, the man immediately spoke about other people: "Sir, I have no man..." (John 5:7) His circumstances were real, but they had also become his explanation for remaining where he was. Jesus didn't deny the man's struggles, nor did He debate whether life had been unfair. Instead, He redirected his focus with a simple command: "Rise, take up thy bed, and walk." (John 5:8) Joseph gives us another powerful example. Betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned, he had every reason to live in blame. Yet when he finally stood before those who had wronged him, he chose a different perspective: "Ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good." (Genesis 50:20) Joseph acknowledged the wrong, but he refused to let it define his future. This chapter reminded me that while we may not be responsible for what happened to us, we are responsible for how we respond. Freedom begins when we stop allowing yesterday's pain to shape today's decisions and instead ask: "What is God calling me to do now?" 💬 Discussion I'd love to hear your thoughts. 1. Our WILL is the Strength we require to succeed. A will-less dreamer is a dreamer with no strength and cannot succeed. - A person who wants to succeed must be discontent with being normal. - Resist or overcome the unwillingness to be normal. - A person who wants to succeed must drive himself to be extraordinary by improving our mind and our abilities. - Improving is training until it stands out and someone acknowledges it and is willing to pay for it.

As promised, here is our first chapter discussion. 😊 I pray it encourages you to reflect on God's Word and invites meaningful conversation. A Question to Begin Have you ever found yourself explaining why you can't move forward instead of asking God what He wants you to do next? Many of us have prayed for breakthrough, healing, or change while sincerely trusting God. Yet sometimes our greatest obstacle isn't our circumstances—it's the explanations we've become accustomed to repeating. In this chapter, I reflect on how God used the story of the man at the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:1–15) to challenge my own thinking. For years, I believed many of my struggles were caused only by circumstances beyond my control. While some of those circumstances were real, God gently showed me that I had become more focused on explaining my situation than on embracing the responsibility He had already placed in my hands. When Jesus asked the man, "Wilt thou be made whole?" the man didn't simply answer yes. Instead, he explained why he had remained where he was for thirty-eight years. Jesus didn't argue with his reasons. He simply gave him an instruction: "Rise, take up thy bed, and walk." (John 5:8) That passage challenged me to ask myself a difficult question: What "mat" have I been lying on? Sometimes our "mat" isn't physical. It may be fear, comparison, disappointment, blame, regret, or habits of thinking that quietly keep us from moving forward in faith. Rather, it's to allow Jesus to transform our perspective so that we respond to life's challenges with faith, stewardship, and obedience instead of remaining trapped by our explanations. No man was born empty. 2) I cannot be satisfied with being anything less than the best in developing the gift in me. 3) The gift of a man makes room for him. There is a room and a reward waiting for me when I develop the gift or ability God has put in me. 4) Nothing can stop me if I will to do it. 5) I must find what I am good at, what I want to do, set my goals and pursue it with all I have got.

This book is inspired by the story of the man at the Pool of Bethesda (John 5). It explores how our excuses can become prisons and how Jesus calls us to move from blame to responsibility, from excuses to obedience, and from feeling stuck to walking in faith. Kenyon Chapter 6. - why are you a spiritual failure? Learning points 1) Spiritual Failures are not made, they are the result of what they know or don’t know. It tells me that spiritual success is a result of knowing the right thing. 2) God expects me to develop spiritually by feeding on His Word and growing to maturity. 3) God’s desire is for me to develop fully and walk in the fullness of my inheritance as a son.

This Chapter left me asking myself all the questions it was asking. - What am I worth in my eyes? - ⁠How much value do I really place on me - Am I going to be what i could be? - Have I set a price on myself? - Have i set a price on my ability and on my time? - What is my word worth to me? - can I trust my own words and do they mean anything to me? A) I learned that my words as a human is the finest part of me so I cannot afford to be careless with it. B) Value attracts Opportunities and men will pay me for the value that Iam. C) To get to the highest levels, I must set my standard high and then reach for it. D) I should learn to take stock. What I possess should be more valuable today than it was yesterday. It means I must improve on my abilities daily. I am reminded again that “TIME” is a resource and whatever I exchange my every second, minute or hour with shows me the value I place on myself at that material time.

Discipline means the practice of training me to obey rules or codes of behavior, and using order or self-control to achieve goals. It bridges the gap between intentions and accomplishments, and often requires sacrifices in the present for future improvement. - I must discipline myself mentally. Self control the things that build me mentally to achieve the goals set before me. - I must discipline or train or self control my temper to achieve the goals set. - I must discipline my mouth to speak the right words because I want to achieve the goals before me. - Self discipline is actually controlled power. It is harnessing all my power and directing it to a goal. It is focus. It is hard-work intelligently directed. - Another learning point. What I do not train, I do not develop. What I don’t develop has no value. Only I can develop my talents and skills. - I must put myself under competent mentors and teachers. - When I develop myself, I create the needed opportunities. They show up. - I must seek to improve on who I was yesterday. Improve daily

Chapter 3 - using what is in you. - There is a gold mine hidden within me. I must dig it out. - No man was created to be a failure and that includes me - I alone have the key to unlock the treasures within and - It takes hard work to do so. Being a child of God doesn’t exempt me from working hard. - Failure comes because I’m looking outside of me to find success. - ⁠I become exceptional, I stand out because I develop what God has put in me

“SIGN POSTS ON THE ROAD TO SUCCESS.” MY LEARNING POINTS Chapter One 1) the moment we are asking the question “how”, it means our hearts cannot see possibility so we need to get our hearts to the place where we can see the right pictures before we proceed. (Luke 1:34, Luke 1:18). Find a word from God and let your heart see possibilities 2)Keep at it. Repetitions gives life to it. keep at what you’re doing, it’s a life giver. if you leave it, it will die. Characteristic of anything that is alive is growth. 3. When you keep at it, you master, sharpen the tools of trade. You are becoming more skilled at its use. 4. ⁠keeping at it involves sacrifice. There’s always something you can do at the same time. How important is this to you? 5. ⁠my efforts should be targeted at improving my dreams. What am I doing to improve my dream. How can I do it better? Everytime you sit to work, do it better than you did it before. What makes me a wonder is how much I improve on it. 6. ⁠challenges and difficulties are part of the day’s job. Don’t look at it as anything special. Conquer it.
