    chapter 13 - Loose Talking

    - Value or place worth on the gift of speech.
    - Control your tongue, or it will control you.
    - CARELESS speaking is a vicious habit and our words are the coin of our kingdom, and our words can be a cursing influence, or a blessing.
    - Good minds will speak good words. Poisoned minds will speak poisoned words.
    - An idle word spoken can fall into the soil of someone's heart and poison his whole life.
    - All men are judged by their speech.

    Chapter 12 - What's the Use

    - What our unseen man believes is our expectation and it is more important than anything happening around us." We can believe we will win and it will influence our attitude right
    - What we believe about God is fundamental. We must know that God cannot fail anyone who trusts Him.
    - We must also believe He is looking for opportunities to change our story and is just waiting for us to ask for His help."
    - Our worst trait is going back over our past failures. It is in the past and we are done with it. It is now a memory to be forgotten.
    - See from the hidden man that life ahead of you is big just like God’s word says.

Chapter 11 - It Is the YOU in You That Wins
Life’s fight is won from the inside out. It is the invisible me on the inside that wins life’s fight.

The unseen man , this hidden man of the heart, runs the whole machinery or the life of a man.
What we do with our inside builds us into a success.

It is the unseen man that makes the "seen man'" do things. Like we learned, it is the strength (will) of the unseen man that stirs the seen man to accomplish anything. So, the unseen man must "Get behind this 'seen you'. Make him work. Make him study. Make him dig until he has won the fight."

chapter 10 - How we win
    - Reasons make plans but only strength accomplishes. True strength is not physical. Our WILL is the Strength we require to succeed. A will-less dreamer is a dreamer with no strength and cannot succeed.
    - A person who wants to succeed must be discontent with being normal.
    - Resist or overcome the unwillingness to be normal.
    - A person who wants to succeed must drive himself to be extraordinary by improving our mind and our abilities.
    - Improving is training until it stands out and someone acknowledges it and is willing to pay for it.

Chapter 7 - All have ability

    This chapter blessed me
    1) God put an ability in me and in every man born on the earth. No man was born empty.
    2) I cannot be satisfied with being anything less than the best in developing the gift in me.
    3) The gift of a man makes room for him. There is a room and a reward waiting for me when I develop the gift or ability God has put in me.
    4) Nothing can stop me if I will to do it.
    5) I must find what I am good at, what I want to do, set my goals and pursue it with all I have got.

This Chapter left me asking myself all the questions it was asking.
    - What am I worth in my eyes?
    - How much value do I really place on me
    - Am I going to be what i could be?
    - Have I set a price on myself?
    - Have i set a price on my ability and on my time?
    - What is my word worth to me?
    - can I trust my own words and do they mean anything to me?

    A) I learned that my words as a human is the finest part of me so I cannot afford to be careless with it.
    B) Value attracts Opportunities and men will pay me for the value that Iam.
    C) To get to the highest levels, I must set my standard high and then reach for it.
    D) I should learn to take stock. What I possess should be more valuable today than it was yesterday. It means I must improve on my abilities daily.

I am reminded again that “TIME” is a resource and whatever I exchange my every second, minute or hour with shows me the value I place on myself at that material time.

    Chapter 4 - Train yourself
    - What I do for myself counts more than what any man can do for me
    - Self-discipline is my greatest asset. Discipline means the practice of training me to obey rules or codes of behavior, and using order or self-control to achieve goals. It bridges the gap between intentions and accomplishments, and often requires sacrifices in the present for future improvement.
    - I must discipline myself mentally. Self control the things that build me mentally to achieve the goals set before me.
    - I must discipline or train or self control my temper to achieve the goals set.
    - I must discipline my mouth to speak the right words because I want to achieve the goals before me.
    - Self discipline is actually controlled power. It is harnessing all my power and directing it to a goal. It is focus. It is hard-work intelligently directed.
    - Another learning point. What I do not train, I do not develop. What I don’t develop has no value. Only I can develop my talents and skills.
    - I must put myself under competent mentors and teachers.
    - When I develop myself, I create the needed opportunities. They show up.
    - I must seek to improve on who I was yesterday. Improve daily

  • Chapter 3 - using what is in you.
    - There is a gold mine hidden within me. I must dig it out.
    - No man was
created to be a failure and that includes me
    - I alone have the key to unlock the treasures within and
    - It takes hard work to do so. Being a child of God doesn’t exempt me from working hard.
    - Failure comes because I’m looking outside of me to find success.
    - I become exceptional, I stand out because I develop what God has put in me

    learning points - Chapter 2
    1) The only thing that counts is what is inside of me.
    - How do I begin to find what is within?
    - if it is within then I have to search. Is there a method?
    2) If the resources I require to succeed are within me not outside of me then I must know what I have?”
    3) To succeed, I must develop the underdeveloped resources that I have.
    4) am the only one that can push me to succeed. I am my slave driver. Someone might help me ignite the fire but only I can fan it into a flame.
    5) I must act on the suggestions that come to me.

    MY LEARNING POINTS Chapter One
    1) the moment we are asking the question “how”, it means our hearts cannot see possibility so we need to get our hearts to the place where we can see the right pictures before we proceed. (Luke 1:34, Luke 1:18). Find a word from God and let your heart see possibilities
2)Keep at it. Repetitions gives life to it. keep at what you’re doing, it’s a life giver. if you leave it, it will die. Characteristic of anything that is alive is growth.
    3. When you keep at it, you master, sharpen the tools of trade. You are becoming more skilled at its use.
    4. keeping at it involves sacrifice. There’s always something you can do at the same time. How important is this to you?
    5. my efforts should be targeted at improving my dreams. What am I doing to improve my dream. How can I do it better? Everytime you sit to work, do it better than you did it before. What makes me a wonder is how much I improve on it.
    6. challenges and difficulties are part of the day’s job. Don’t look at it as anything special. Conquer it.

  • Hello everyone, I trust your Sunday has or is going on well as the case may be. I’m about to start reading a book tomorrow by E.W. Kenyon titled “SIGN POSTS ON THE ROAD TO SUCCESS”. It’s an old and small book but I’m sure it will be a good read. Please join me if you can. I’ll update a review on every chapter I read. I thought I could upload a copy here for everyone to read but it seems it isn’t possible.

  • Good morning friends. My name is Hannah from Nigeria. Glad to be here. I would like to suggest that as a book club, we could read one book suggested by anyone of us as long as there’s a consensus. Then each person shares something they’ve learned or the impact of the book on their lives. If you agree, please respond and let’s suggest some books; ebooks preferably so we can upload a link for everyone to read. Thank you.

Look forward to hearing from everyone and do have an amazing weekend.

  • Being "alive" to someone generally means being actively present, engaged, and deeply receptive to them. Instead of simply breathing, it implies a vibrant, reciprocal connection where a person is fully aware of someone else's presence, emotions, and importance The concept carries several layers of meaning:

    1. Radical Awareness:
To be "alive" to someone means you are acutely conscious of them. You don't just see or hear them; you understand their feelings, notice their subtle changes, and are sensitive to their needs. It means recognizing their existence as a priority in your world.

    2. Deepening Emotional Resonance:
When someone makes you feel "alive," they awaken parts of your soul or spirit. They bring excitement, inspiration, and color into your everyday routines. It’s a spark that shakes you out of apathy and makes you hyper-aware of your own emotions.

    3. Mutual Validation
Humans largely exist and find purpose through relationships. Being "alive to someone" means your lives touch, intertwine, and validate each other. Through shared moments—laughing together, having tough conversations, or sitting in comfortable silence—you establish that you truly matter to one another.

    4. Psychological & Emotional Connection
    lt signifies:
    * Being seen: They acknowledge your authentic self.
    * Being heard: They actively listen without judgment.
    * Being valued: They prioritize your shared history and experiences.
Ultimately, it is the bridge between mere existence and active, meaningful participation in another person's life.

“…, but “alive to God” in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

(The spirit of joy, an ecstasy that comes from God)

    GOD IS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU

    REV. AROME E. TOKULA

    Psalms 145:15-16 (NIV)
*m15 The EYES OF ALL LOOK TO YOU, and you give them their food at the proper time.
16 You OPEN YOUR HAND AND SATISFY THE DESIRES of every living thing.

God’s design is to take care of every area of your life all the days of your life. It has always been so and still remains the same because any attempt to take care of ‘mankind’ without God is purely satanic. That is exactly what the tower of Babel in Genesis 11 represented. The people wanted to build a city, society and ultimately a community that was totally opposed to everything that God stood for.

Genesis 11:4 (AMP) says, They said, “Come, let us build A CITY FOR OURSELVES, and a tower whose top will reach into the heavens, and let US MAKE A [FAMOUS] NAME FOR OURSELVES, so that WE WILL NOT BE SCATTERED [into separate groups] and be dispersed over the surface of the entire earth [AS THE LORD INSTRUCTED]”. They wanted to gather in one place, take care of themselves and make a famous name for ‘themselves’ when God actually prepared a garden for them and said to multiply and fill the earth (Genesis 1:28).

No government of any nation was designed to take care of you; neither is your job or business supposed to take care of you. You are God’s absolute responsibility!

The truth is, before you were born, your Father – God, went ahead of you and made everything ready for you to live and enjoy the abundant and fulfilling life. There is no season of your life that God has not covered. This is why you must reject those anxious thoughts and learn to trust God every day instead of focusing on your needs.
1 Peter 5:7 says, “casting ALL YOUR CARE upon Him, for HE CARES FOR YOU.” The original Greek literally reads: “casting your DISTRACTIONS upon Him because He is RESPONSIBLE for you!” Needs are just distractions of satan to stop you from looking up to God and trusting Him.

Faith however is knowing that God is responsible for you. Learn to look up to God and see what He has prepared for you. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 says, “… eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the THINGS which GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM. But God HAS REVEALED them to us through His Spirit...”

There are ‘things’ that God has prepared for you and as you look up to Him today, the Holy Spirit is revealing them to you. To ‘reveal’ is to make manifest. You don’t have to struggle and be apprehensive about them, you only need to rest and *see* them because it is the work of the Holy Ghost to reveal and lead you to them.

I know God has prepared and made ready your desire – job, house, children, new relationships, contract etc. Like today’s text, His hands are opened to you today so go ahead and receive all that is yours every day in Jesus’ Name.

    DECLARE
I have good God and Father Who’s hands are continually opened to me! Thank You Father because You have gone ahead of me and made all things ready! I reject fear, worry and anxiety and look up to You because everything is working and all things are falling into place for my good because You love me in Jesus’ Name.

TOKULA Psalms 145:15-16 (NIV) *m15 The EYES OF ALL LOOK TO YOU, and you give them their food at the proper time. HELP FROM ABOVE

    REV. AROME E. TOKULA

    Psalms 121:2 (TPT)
2 I LOOK UP to the mountains and hills, LONGING FOR GOD’S HELP. But then I REALIZE that our TRUE HELP and protection come ONLY FROM THE LORD, our Creator who made the heavens and the earth.

Nobody makes it through life and becomes all that God wants him/her to become without the help of another person and I'm a testimony of a man whom God has marvelously helped!

It was a pitiful place to be when that sick impotent man at the pool of Bethesda told Jesus in John 5:7, “… Sir, I HAVE NO MAN to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

It is abnormal when a child of God finds himself or herself in a place without help. That place where you don't have anybody to help you or where the needed help is delayed or denied. This is the reason it is important to position yourself in a place where you can constantly receive and enjoy the help that comes from God - from above!

You have to stop looking for help in the wrong places where you will never find it. To receive and enjoy God's help, you must turn your eyes completely to Him alone like we see the Psalmist doing in our text. The Psalmist saw the mountains that surrounded Jerusalem but refused to put his trust in them but rather wholly in God! The truth is, without God, the help of man is vain!

Isaiah 31:1 says, “Woe to THOSE WHO GO DOWN TO EGYPT FOR HELP, and RELY on HORSES, who TRUST IN CHARIOTS because THEY ARE MANY, and IN HORSEMEN because they ARE VERY STRONG, but who do not LOOK to the Holy One of Israel, nor SEEK THE LORD!” Who are you looking up to in your heart?

The king told the woman who cried to him for help during the famine 2 Kings 6:27 (MSG), “...If GOD won’t help you, where on earth can I go for help? To the granary? To the dairy?”

When you look completely to God especially in the place of prayer and praise, He raises help for you, sometimes from least expected sources!

When your confidence is rested solely on God, you'll begin to see Him raise people from all over to come and help you because true help is from above!

    DECLARE
Father, my eyes are upon You! I look to You because You're my Help, strength, and comfort. Thank You Holy Spirit my Helper, I can do all things because you empower me. I receive today all the associations needed to move me to the next level. I receive help today in Jesus' Name.

    STEP OFF THE SHORES

    REV. AROME E. TOKULA

    Psalms 107:23-24
23 Those who go down to the sea in ships, who DO BUSINESS on GREAT WATERS,
24 THEY SEE THE WORKS of the LORD, and HIS WONDERS in the deep.

Many are afraid of stepping off the shores into the deep ‘oceans’ of life in order to do business with God’s Word. They are fearful and will not dare to act by giving motion to their faith and because of that they don’t get the big ‘catch.'

God is calling us to come off the shores of life and take an adventure of faith by acting upon His Word.

When you have a revelation of the nature and character of God it won’t be ‘hard’ to trust what He says because faith isn’t a leap in the dark but a leap on the Word of God. This is exactly what Peter did when Jesus told him to come. Peter acted upon Jesus’ Word and walked on water (Matthew 14:19-20). There were no ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ for Peter!

What made Peter walk on water in simple faith was because he knew the character of Jesus. He knew that Jesus could be trusted and that He wouldn’t lie to him. Though it didn’t make sense to walk on water, Peter acted on the Words from the mouth of Jesus. This is why you must understand that faith isn’t a mechanical process that we follow but the result of a relationship we enjoy. Your faith is strengthened in the place of fellowship because you cannot trust who you do not know.

Peter said, “… Lord, IF IT IS YOU, command me to come to You ON THE WATER,” so Jesus said, “Come!” (Matthew 14:28-29). It had to be Jesus “not someone else” for Peter to step out of that boat. Those who know their God are strong and they do exploits (Daniel 11:32).

It is important as a child of God that every day you have special moments of devotion spent alone in fellowship with God. I call these moments ‘private devotion’ while some call it ‘quiet time.’ It is a time to be alone with God in meditation in His Word as you allow His Words to become personal to you. This is where faith is born. Without times like these, the life of faith will be a struggle.

When you know that God’s Word is the very Word of God speaking to you, it won’t be a struggle to act upon His Word like you would the word of your financial advisor, doctor, or coach. Like we see in our text, it is those who do business in ‘great’ waters that see the wonders of God! If you want to see the wonders, then stop playing safe! Do what He says to do!

Step off the shores today into the deep waters and experience new levels of victory.

    DECLARE
There are no impossibilities because the Word of God is my foundation for life. I know my Father and my faith is strengthened to act upon His Word. Thank You Father because Your Word can be depended upon because they are spoken from Your lips. I believe that I am healed, blessed, and favored in all that I do in Jesus' Name.
