- I came across this hymn today and thought to share here;
Have we e'er heard those weighty words,
That we are buried with the Lord
Planted together in His death
That body of sin be destroyed
Our hearts recieved a new Spirit
As it is raised up from the dead
So Christ also rose from the grave
And lived in heav'n above with God
Therefore, let not the devil reign
No more in your mortal body
All sins that have bound us before
They shall no more have dominion.

- Pam 44:3 (Good news) 'Your people did not conquer the land with their swords, they did not win by their own power. Its by your power and strength, by the assurance of your presence which showed you loved them'.
As I read this part of the scripture, I can't help but ponder over the fact that our victory is not in what we have as a leverage according to our human thinking. we could have the best of leverages and still loose. No wonder the scripture in 2cor 10:4 clearly states that the weapon of our warfare are not carnal things. This is because the devil is not afraid of anything that is carnal.
if we must conquer the land God has given to us, we must rely solely on the assurance that God's presence is with us. We would not dare to rely on our own human strategies or leverage but rely solely on God.
