OWE NO MAN ANYTHING
> Living debt-free is not just financial wisdom—it is God’s command for His children.
Scripture:
"Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law." – Romans 13:8 (KJV)
Insight
The Word of God sets a high standard for our financial dealings—one that promotes integrity, peace of mind, and harmonious relationships. Debt often robs families of freedom, introduces unnecessary stress, and can damage reputations. While there are times when borrowing may seem unavoidable, God’s ideal is that His children live in such a way that they are not financially beholden to others, except in the ongoing debt of love.
Message
In today’s consumer-driven world, the temptation to borrow for wants rather than needs is strong. Easy access to credit cards, quick loans, and instalment payment plans makes it seem harmless. But every loan carries a weight—a financial obligation that can drain joy and limit future possibilities. When a family is financially overextended, the strain affects marriages, parenting, and even spiritual life. God’s wisdom calls us to exercise self-control, contentment, and faith in His provision.
Living debt-free is not about living in poverty—it is about managing resources wisely, delaying gratification when necessary, and trusting God to meet needs in His timing. It is also about making love, service, and generosity the only "debt" we continually owe.
Illustration
A Christian couple once made a decision to live debt-free after years of struggling with multiple loans. They sold unnecessary possessions, cut non-essential expenses, and committed to buying only what they could afford. Over time, not only did they become financially free, but their marriage improved, their stress level reduced, and they were able to give more generously to God’s work. They discovered that “financial peace” was far more valuable than any new gadget or luxury purchase.
Reflection
*Is your family living within God’s means, or are you constantly relying on borrowed funds?
*What changes can you make today to reduce financial dependency on others?
Action
Review all your family’s debts this week. Create a realistic repayment plan, avoid unnecessary borrowing, and prayerfully commit to living within your means.
Prayer
Lord, help us to be wise stewards of the resources You have entrusted to us. Give us strength to resist unnecessary debt and grace to live within Your provision. May the only debt we carry be the debt of love to one another. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

- As believers, we are all entrusted with a divine commission—to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations.
Yet, the way we fulfil this sacred calling varies from person to person and church to church. God, in His wisdom, equips each of us uniquely, granting diverse gifts, resources, and opportunities. While the mission remains the same, the methods may differ.
Some may teach, others may serve, some may plant churches, while others empower communities through business, education, or digital outreach.
What matters is not uniformity in method, but unity in purpose—to glorify Christ and advance His Kingdom in every sphere of life.As believers, we are all entrusted with a divine commission—to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations. PRAYING FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS
> God is the giver of knowledge, skill, and understanding.
Scripture:
“As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.” — Daniel 1:17 (KJV)
Insight:
Academic success is not just about intelligence or study hours — it is deeply spiritual. In Daniel 1, we see young people, far from home and immersed in a foreign culture, rising to excellence not because of luck, but because God gave them knowledge and skill. God is still the source of true learning, and when we involve Him in our children’s academics, we position them for supernatural advantage.
Message:
Too often, families separate school life from spiritual life. We may pray about sickness and finances, but forget to commit school work, exams, and mental growth to God. Yet Daniel and his friends show us that prayer and obedience unlock favour, brilliance, and wisdom that sets children apart.
A family that prays over assignments, studies, exams, and even learning environments will begin to see a shift. Prayer can break cycles of failure, remove anxiety, and unlock a child’s ability to grasp what once seemed difficult.
Illustration:
Mr. and Mrs. Olabisi were concerned about their son, Tolu, who had been struggling academically for two years. They tried tutors, changed schools, and disciplined him, but saw little change. One day, a family mentor reminded them that Daniel's wisdom came from God. That night, they began praying intentionally over Tolu’s academics, speaking scriptures and affirmations over him. Within two terms, there was a visible transformation — better focus, improved results, and renewed confidence. Their son became a testimony of what God can do through prayer and faith.
Reflection:
Do you intentionally pray over your children’s academics, or leave it to chance? How can you invite God into their learning journey today?
Action:
Set aside time each day this week to pray over your child’s education. Use specific scriptures like Daniel 1:17 and Psalm 119:99. Speak success, clarity, and favour over their studies.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being the source of true wisdom and understanding. I commit my children’s academics to You today. Give them knowledge, skill, and excellence like You did for Daniel. Help them learn with ease, retain what they study, and find joy in growing intellectually. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
