THE PILGRIMS GUIDE

FRIDAY MAY 30, 2025

PERSEVERE QUIETLY

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people." Matthew 14:19 NLT.

The narrative from the context of our anchor Scripture captures the essence and importance of maintaining faith and quietness while expecting a positive outcome, bearing in mind the spirit of the passage and its message of trust and patience. For some people, especially in the Global South, their main purpose of
attending church services is to find solutions for their numerous challenges, they soon stop attending one church, and continue their search for quick solutions to all their life's situations and challenges at another; but truth is that it doesn't work like that. You have to have faith in, and be patient with God.

From our anchor Scripture, we see the LORD Jesus asking the multitude to sit down, and they did in obedience and faith before they received their miracles.
God, in His Omniscience may choose not to answer your prayers on the very first day you pray or visit a local church for fellowship, that doesn't imply that He's not able to answer your prayers or His power is not there. God has good plans for you, just learn to relax in His presence and demonstrate your unwavering faith and utmost trust in God.

PRAYER BULLETS:

LORD Jesus, thank You for Your goodness and mercy. In Your great name I come against and overcome every spirit of fear. Help me to remain faithful and obedient to You.

FURTHER READING:

Matthew 14:16-21; Hebrews 1:6.
