Just this morning I was thinking of the afterlife. The usual meaning of this is not godly.
BUT, our spirits continue to exist after we die physically. They will exist in eternal death (hell) or eternal life (heaven). We will NOT be able to change where our spirit will be once we die. The time to secure where we will dwell in afterlife (life after physical death), is NOW.

...people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,...

NO 2nd chances
Afterlife does exist! Where will you be dwelling?
Come to Christ now.
Recommit yourselves to Him now.
Start and continue to grow in Him from now.

[28] Then Jesus said, “ _Come to Me_ , all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. [29] _Take My yoke upon you._ _Let Me teach you,_ because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
