MARRIAGE IS A SACRIFICIAL COMMITMENT
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her." Ephesians 5:25 NKJV.
Women are said to be the weaker ones and this is why Paul, the apostle, under the Holy Spirit's inspiration began his admonition to the wives to submit to their own husbands and to obey them. (vv 22-23). One of the problems affecting the marriage institution today is the inability of wives to submit to their own husbands.
Sometimes they claim equality with men. Understably that God created both man and woman equally, but He made man the head of the woman, as there can never be the position of co-captains on a ship; therefore the wife must put herself under the husband for the smooth sailing of the marriage, and for peace to reign in their home.
The man on the other hand should demonstrate sacrificial and unconditional love to his wife as Christ loved us unconditionally, even while we were yet sinners. This shows that even if your wife is not submitting to you it is not a guarantee not to love her, you didn't read that, yes, you did. That is your sacrificial commitment and love to your God-given responsibility as the physical head of the family. Though you may find this difficult to accept, it is the Bible principle and pattern because Christ used it as an example of the way He loves His Church.
There is no room for domestic violence in the family because each person, the husband and the wife is expected to play their roles well for peace and tranquility to reign. The love of Christ to His church made Him to die for her so that He might present her to God a glorious Church that has no stain or blame.
You cannot hate your spouse and still go to heaven. This is why forgiveness and tolerance are essential in marriage. What is your relationship with Christ, if you have not been married to Christ you cannot make a good spouse.
Let us submit to one another so that we will be raptured when Christ comes.

1). LORD Jesus, thank you for opening my eyes to the demands of marriage, please help me to hold the fort effectively for You.
2). Qualify those who are trusting You for marriage before they venture into it.
