THE JOY OF FELLOWSHIP
"I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD."
(Psalms 122:1).
In this scripture David expresses his joy and eagerness to worship and fellowship with others in the house of the Lord. As Christians, we too can experience this same joy if we make fellowship with believers our priority.
Any believer that does not have an inner joy that propels him or her to go for fellowship is definitely under a certain negative influence. There is always a joy of fellowship in the heart of every true worshipper of the Lord.
David said in the text above that nothing gives him gladness of heart like when it is time to go to the house of God for fellowship. If that joy and gladness of heart is not traced in you, then something is definitely wrong somewhere.
"For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness" (Psalms 84:10).
The Psalmist here again presents an inner pressure to be in the house of the LORD.
Any hour spent in worship with the brethren is so vital and can't be compared to any hour spent elsewhere.
"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship.."
(Acts 2:42).
No matter the troubles of life, no matter the challenges of life, the best place to be, is always in the presence of the LORD. Do not join those who have concluded that Fellowship is not important.
" Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is..."
(Heb.10:25).
Check your relationship with Christ, if you have lost the joy of fellowship.
There is joy in fellowship.
Shalom.
