THE PILGRIMS GUIDE SUNDAY JUNE 22, 2025 YOUR WORDS ARE POWERFUL A WORD FROM THE WORD: "The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences." Proverbs 18:21 NLT. The tongue is one of the most powerful parts of the human body, yet it is often taken for granted. It has the capacity to build up or tear down, to bring life or destruction. The Holy Spirit's inspiration for our foundational Scripture is to among others draw our attention to the power of the tongue, the consequences of using it unwisely, and how to use it in a manner that will bring life and peace. You need to be very careful of what you say and how you say it especially when you are very angry or excited. Whatever you say or confess is what you will get, therefore, endeavour to use your tongue wisely. If you guard your mouth, which begins by guarding your heart and living out the spiritual and transformative fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), you can protect yourself and others from calamity.
