THE PILGRIMS GUIDE MONDAY AUGUST 4, 2025 THE TRAGEDY OF AN UNCIRCUMCISED HEART A WORD FROM THE WORD: "Let your circumcision be of the heart, and put away your pride." Deuteronomy 10:16 BBE. Our topic is no doubt powerful and sobering (at the same time) as it appears in several places in the Bible, both in the Old Testament, and the New Testament alike, that speaks of the spiritual state of the person who, in spite of their outward religious identity remains hardened, rebellious and lacking in right and true response to God. Our anchor Scripture makes it plain that the circumcision of the heart, that is, inward transformation has always been God's goal from the beginning, and shows the danger and tragedy of vain external religiosity. It's a fatal tragedy of eternal proportions to be a part of God's covenant outwardly, and rebellious inwardly, it's a factual truth that obedience without heart circumcision equals to lifeless ritual.
