DO NOT BE AFRAID

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." 2 Kings 6:16 NKJV.

Fear is an emotional experience when expecting a danger. This type of feeling triggers off some latent and active reactions as a nudge to the contingency. Fear fights your belief of what God can do. It is not only dangerous, but is sometimes murderous. It kills its victim spiritually, emotionally and physically before the advent of the eventuality.

The Bible is replete with admonitions and assurances to the child of God not to be afraid. In fact, there are 365 times in the Bible where 'do not be afraid,' 'do not fear,' 'fret not,' and the synonyms were used, but it must be noted that these are realised as we download and appropriate them by faith in the LORD Jesus.

From our foundational text, Gehazi told Elisha, the prophet what he had seen on physical reality. It is good to note that Elisha did not depreciate the material reality as those things that are seen are temporary but the unseen are eternal, the spiritual controls the physical. He only prayed for his servant, he was not panic-driven into spiritual warfare. He was already on top of the situation. Elisha refused to be, and was not distracted.
Gehazi's eyes were opened, and his fears evaporated.

The greatest antidote for fear is to have our ears and eyes aligned to God's Spirit so that we will know and appreciate what God is doing in the present. You should know the God you are serving.
Don't ever give in to any form of intimidation, let your eyes and ears be aligned to God's Spirit. Do not compromise, because when you do, you become vulnerable. Do not be afraid; what you are afraid of, is afraid of you also. God, who is on your side, outnumbers the satanic horde, your situations and circumstances.
Go out with every boldness you muster from God, and conquer.

PRAYER BULLETS:

Sovereign LORD, I thank You for the confidence that comes from Your word. Engrace me to align my heart, my ears and my eyes to Your Spirit in order to overcome mortal fears, and know what is being done for me, by You.

FURTHER READING:

2 Kings 6:8-23; Isaiah 41:10; 2 Timothy 1:7; Joshua 1:9; Philippians 4:6-7.
