CONSECRATED UNTO GOD 2

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you." 2 Corinthians 6:17 NIV.

Consecration is the call of every believing child of God. The Bible admonishes God's people to be a holy people, separate from the world: 'Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God.' Leviticus 20:7 ESV

Being consecrated is an important component in our relationship to God and to those in the world. Paul, the apostle, tells us, by the Holy Spirit 'Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.' (Romans 12:1-2).

The following guide will help you practically as you strive to be consecrated unto God.

Separation:

To become consecrated unto God, you need to separate yourself from the world and its ways. Separate yourself from sin, evil, and compromise. Be separated from anything that hinders your relationship with God.
You must deliberately separate yourself unto God, His word, and Spirit. 'Therefore come out from them and be separate says the Lord.' (2 Corinthians 6:17 NIV).

Dedication:

In the practice of consecration, you need to fully dedicate yourself to God and His purposes, His glory, will and kingdom.
You need to dedicate yourself to His service, mission, and His people.
You need to dedicate yourself with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. '... Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' (Mark 12:30 NKJV).

Abide:

You have every need to abide in Christ Jesus and His love. Abide in His presence, grace, and peace. You need to abide in His word, commands, and promises. Abide in His vine and Spirit. 'Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine neither can you unless you abide in me.' (John 15:4 NKJV).

This is your call as a believer in, and follower of the LORD Jesus; your privilege as achild of God. Your consecration unto God.

PRAYER BULLETS:

Loving LORD, help me to separate myself from the world, be dedicated to, and abide in You. Fill me with Your Spirit.
