Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
—  Philippians 2:3-4

Thought Of The Day...
When I was younger, I often felt the need to prove myself. Whether in school, sports, or social settings, I constantly pushed to be the best, to outshine others, and to earn recognition. One day, a mentor gently helped me see that this drive for validation was rooted in both pride and insecurity. He reminded me that true greatness is found not in elevating ourselves, but in serving others and placing their needs above our own.
This was not an easy lesson, but it transformed my perspective. Humility doesn’t come naturally—it requires deliberate practice and a heart shaped by God’s grace. It means understanding that every good thing we possess comes from Him, and realizing we are no better than anyone else. It also means admitting our weaknesses and being open to learn from others, even those we might consider less experienced.
Jesus is the perfect model of humility. Though He is God, He chose to take the form of a servant, humbling Himself to the point of giving His life for us. Following His example teaches us to value people more deeply, listen more attentively, and serve without expecting anything in return.
I’ve come to see that humility opens our eyes to view others as God does, responding with compassion and grace. To walk in humility is to let go of our ego and embrace the heart of a servant—just as Jesus did.
Prayer...
Heavenly Father, we confess that at times our hearts are filled with pride, selfish ambition, and a desire for recognition. Your Word reminds us in Ephesians 2:3–4 that though we once lived in the passions of our flesh, following our own desires, You, in Your rich mercy and great love, made us alive in Christ. Lord, teach us to walk in true humility—acknowledging that all we have and all we are comes from You.
Transform our hearts so that we reflect Your love and grace in every interaction. Help us to value others above ourselves, to listen with compassion, and to serve without seeking anything in return. May our lives mirror the humility of Jesus, who laid down His glory to take the form of a servant. We surrender our pride to You, Lord, and ask that You shape us into vessels that honor You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
